v1.2.7
13 August 2009
(Written for Live Servers v3.2.0.10192)

Routes allow you to draw lines on the worldmap linking nodes together into an efficient farming route from existing databases. The route will be shown (by default) on the minimap and zone map as well.

Use /routes to begin.

Features:
  • Select node-types to build a line upon. The following are supported
    • Cartographer_Fishing
    • Cartographer_Mining
    • Cartographer_Herbalism
    • Cartographer_ExtractGas
    • Cartographer_Treasure
    • GatherMate
    • Gatherer
    • HandyNotes
  • Optimize your route using the traveling salesmen problem (TSP) ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm
  • Background (nonblocking) and foreground (blocking) optimization
  • Select color/thickness/transparency/visibility for each route
  • For any route created, finding a new node will try to add that as optimal as possible
  • Quick clustering algorithm to merge nearby nodes into a single traveling point
  • Quickly mark entire areas/regions as "out of bounds" or "taboo" to Routes, meaning your routes will ignore nodes in those areas and avoid cross them
  • Fubar plugin available to quickly access your routes
  • Cartographer_Waypoints and TomTom support for quickly following a route
  • Works with Chinchilla's Expander minimap and SexyMap's HudMap!
  • Full in-game help file and FAQ, guiding you step by step on what to do!

Hubby does not have this issue and I'm not sure why I do.

Thanks again for an amazing addon.
A recent GatherMate update we implemented was to revert the "node merging" of Lichbloom and Icethorn into a single node called "Frozen herb" in Storm Peaks and Wintergrasp, because this behavior was unintuitive.

What initially happened was every herb spawn point in SP and WG could spawn either herb, so when you imported a database, every point would have 2 or more stacked herbs in those 2 zones. A user request for merging them into a "single entity" was done. We have since then reverted this change.

Your issue is that you probably made a route using say Lichbloom. However, when you pick the herb, GatherMate was converting that node from Lichbloom into Frozen Herb - since Frozen Herb wasn't in your route, it removed that node and didn't add it back.

Solution A: Update GatherMate, reimport database fully
Solution B: Turn off automatic route updating (in /gathermate, root tree of Routes)
Solution C: Make sure Frozen Herbs is in your route.

A is the recommended one. And of course, recreate your route.

No. Because their emulation of isn't anything like the actual thing. If people wanted to, they should just install the actual thing.

I do not approve of "Carbonite" pretending to be "TomTom" when it isn't TomTom at all, and will just serve to confuse users and authors, particularly with code integration and trying to make things work with "multiple versions of TomTom that isn't TomTom".

Huh, I could have sworn I wasn't seeing the routes update with gathermate. But I just reinstalled and it's working now.

Thanks.

TomTom and Lightheaded have a functionality that when both installed you can click on some coords in Lightheaded and have it automatically set as a way point for TomTom to follow. After installing Routes, this functionality disappeared and only after disabling Routes was I able to get the functionality to return.

Anyways to make these addons play nice together? I've reported the issue to both you and the author of TomTom and lightheaded.

Probably no. Ask them to support Routes, Cartographer 3 did it.
