Steam Pixel Texture Package  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1
by: Landrell [More]

Name: STEAM PIXEL TEXTURE PACKAGE

Created By: Landrell

Requirements to use Texture Package
-----------------------------------

KgPanels
Action Bar Addon (Dominos, Bartender, Trinity, etc.)
Minimap Addon (chinchilla, Ricominimap, etc.)
Sphere Addon (Lunarsphere, Cryolisis, Necrolisis, etc.)
Chat Addon (Prat, ChatMOD, etc.)

Installation
------------

Please refer to the README for the information provided therein. All texture sizes are located also in the README. If you are having issues on how to use KgPanels, there are turotials here on WoWInterface that will guide you in the right direction on how to use textures in your own UI.

Redistribution
--------------

Please refer to the README for the information provided therein. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in me pulling the textures and or reporting the compilation of not complying with my guidelines.

Fair Credit
-----------

If you do follow the guidelines and PM me, I will also add your compilation to the list here on the descriptions page of the Texture Package used. This will encourage giving credit to both parties and help keep people, both myself and the compilation Author happy.

Comments & Suggestions
----------------------

Please PM me here on WoWInterface first before sending it to my E-mail (which is in the README) for I will catch it and respond quicker here. All suggestions and comments, critiques are welcome!

Thank you for using STeam Pixel Texture package!

It's something I came up with entirely of my own accord. And as for creating specific parts/sections, that is something I haven't thought of yet! I like this suggestion and will see what I can do in the near future!

With programs like kgpanels people can create there own UI layout or even mimic the one you have.
I could create a even simpler Texture package for the Steam Pixel Project, however, it might take a little doing. I'll see what I can do though.

Which brings me to a couple of suggestions. One for the author, one for WoWI.

For the author:
I think that a fair number of folks checking out something named "Steam Pixel GUI Full" will be expecting an actual GUI, not a collection of textures for use in creating a GUI. I realize there is no section in WoWI for "Art & Texture Packs", but technically this package isn't a GUI, or even an AddOn for that matter. Which brings me to the suggestion for the WoWI folks.

For WoWI:
Perhaps adding a section separate of the AddOns category, called Art & Textures would kick-start an entirely different set of potential authors/users to develop, well , art & textures for use in WoW.
You are absolutely right, I will change this as soon as I can get to it! Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

You may want to update your "Addon info" page here on WoW Interface, as well as the Readme file, to indicate that there are 2 mods required to use your textures:

kgPanels
kgPanelsConfig

Notice that there is no underscore character in the name. Searching the mod sites for "KG_Panels" turns up nothing, since this is not the correct "name". Also, the config mod is apparently separate, which people might overlook. The config part is posted separately here on Wow Interface (although it appears to be in a single zip file with kgPanels over at Curse.com in the "kgPanels v1.13" file dated 11/6/2008).

Perhaps you should consider making this a compilation and include the kgPanels+config and other mods shown in your screenshot. You might even include a sample WTF folder with your settings that people could use right away.
I will definitely look into this matter and see what I can do in way of updating and giving people access to what they need should they desire to use this add on. My problem was assuming people knew how to install and configure these mods on their own.

Thank you for the heads up though! I'll add this on my to-do list!

That is correct, it is not a compilation/Suite. The reason why I did it like this is because everyone has their own way about setting things up, and I want to give the user that ability to do so. But don't let that stop you from trying it out. It's always good and fun to experiment and push the bubble with what you're comfortable with when using various add ons.
