Magic Runes   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Magic Runes is a set of bars displaying rune cooldowns. It's meant as either a replacement or addition to the normal Blizzard rune display.

  • Fixed bug that caused disease timers to be re-enabled on reload.

  • Bumped .toc to 30200.
  • Remove any reference of Unholy Blight (no longer any reason to track, since it's an automatic effect from using Death Coil rather than a triggered (de)buff).

  • Fixed rare issue when rune info is attempted to be retrieved for an invalid rune id.

  • Fixed issue where the first blood rune was on a lower frame level.
  • Fixed issues with reverse sorting.
  • Rune frame no longer moves when the anchor is hidden or shown, making exact positioning easier.
  • Added support for LibDBIcon (minimap icon) for those without an LDB displayer.

Version r30:
  • Update runic power faster rather than relying on the event only.
  • Fade runic bar using the appropriate idle alpha (in or out of combat idle alpha) if zero, 1.0 if you have any runic power.
  • Set idle alpha levels correctly when entering/leaving combat.
  • Bars no longer mouse enabled (wasn't used anyway).
  • Reset the rune types upon death related events and when entering/leaving combat (even though it seems to have worked fine before).

Version r28:
  • Fixed loading issue if if Ace3 or other addons using Ace3 hadn't been loaded prior to Magic Runes (caused configuration UI to be missing).
  • Fixed runic bar initialization issue.

So far the new bars don't yet replace the original bars - still missing too many features for that. However the idea is to get rid of any displays in the core addon so you can pick and choose what you want. I also plan to add better disease trackers (or more options at least) and perhaps track more DK specific things like procs and such.

Ok, I've fixed the issue. Accidenly added a file Libs rather than a directory into MagicRunes_RuneBar - removed it and repackaged it.

I get an error extracting the new version. Seems to be problm with LibSimpleBars.

Since i use only the IconDisplay now (which is a really great concept), i really appreciate the new format.

I'll check out the error, thanks for the report. As for Crypt Fever and Ebon Plague, I don't bother listing them since they are implied, and automatic, when applying the other diseases.

I'm a huge fan of this mod, it's imo by far the best rune display available. My only request would be to be able to list the runic power amount below the bars.

To be specific, i currently display the runes only, no bars etc . . . with omnicc displaying the time remaining until the rune refreshes. Using this method the rp is displayed to the right of the icons where i would ideally like it listed below.

I know it's a nitpicky suggestion, if it involves a serious amount of effort for you to do this feel free to ignore it, other than that, thank you for a great mod.

Hi! I just downloaded Magic Runes, launched WoW, went to config window and put a tick in the 'show remaining time'. Getting an error 'Interface\Addons\MagicRunes\MagicRunes.lua:494:attempt to index upvalue 'data' (nil value)'. Easily reproduceable^^

Oh, and by the way what about Crypt Fever and Ebon plague?

Re: Blood Rune Problem

Go to the configuration => Bar Configuration and check Blood #1 and Blood #2. I am guessing you have the same rune set for both. Make sure one uses Blood #1 and the other Blood #2. That configuration option should probably be removed...

Blood Rune Problem

I think i've seen other ppl having this problem. Whenever I use any ability that requires a blood rune, both blood runes go on cd, even though the ability only costs one blood rune. I think it has to do with the Reaping talent that turns blood runes into death runes whenever you hit with blood strike or blood boil. I really want to use this addon as the ability to make it vertical bars is very appealing to me, but this glitch turns me off to it.

As long as you unzip it in the World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns directory it should just work. You can configure it by going to the normal Interface settings and selecting the AddOns tab in the top left corner.

The latest version allows you to freely rearrange non-rune bars relative to the rune bars. However I currently don't allow different bars to use different layout unfortunately. It's on the TODO to add support for multiple bar groups.
