Magic Runes is a set of bars displaying rune cooldowns. It's meant as either a replacement or addition to the normal Blizzard rune display.

Changes in 1.0.89:
  • Now works on the 4.3 PTR. Note if you install libraries separately, you need to use the alpha version of LibBars-1.0 currently.

Changes in 1.0.80:
  • Core: Added color settings for the timer text and text label (separately).
  • Core: Added dot bars for Unholy Blight (off by default) and Scarlet Fever (on by default).

    • Skinnable with Button Facade.
    • Uses standard cooldown display (radial timer, ready flash, etc).
    • Adheres to the main alpha configuration and alpha notification blink (but not color).
    • Order runes in BBUUFF or BUFBUF order, allowing for straight vertical and horizontal displays as well as 2x3 and 3x2.
    • Customizable scale and vertical and horizontal spacing.
    • Optional backdrop frame.
  • Internal cleanup, slowly making way towards a more modular setup.

  • Added support for LibDBIcon (minimap icon) for those without an LDB displayer.

Version r30:
  • Update runic power faster rather than relying on the event only.
  • Fade runic bar using the appropriate idle alpha (in or out of combat idle alpha) if zero, 1.0 if you have any runic power.
  • Set idle alpha levels correctly when entering/leaving combat.
  • Bars no longer mouse enabled (wasn't used anyway).
  • Reset the rune types upon death related events and when entering/leaving combat (even though it seems to have worked fine before).

Version r28:
  • Fixed loading issue if if Ace3 or other addons using Ace3 hadn't been loaded prior to Magic Runes (caused configuration UI to be missing).
  • Fixed runic bar initialization issue.

Note that there was an issue in the previous version if you didn't already have Ace3 loaded. It would show itself as seeing bars but no configuration. r28 should fix this issue.

great rune stuff

usable but a bit buggy at the moment, i hope all the lil thing will get fixed soon.

ex:
- when you lock the bar in static icon mode, the bar moves before it gets locked, annoying.

design suggestions :
-Simplerune like (red/blue/green circle instead of icons) http://www.wowinterface.com/download...impleRune.html
- small rectangle (like xp bar, like this : - - - - - -)

I swear on my Grandmother's grave that wasn't there when I looked!

It was just the three rune types. I looked there because that's where I thought such a thing should be.

Actually this is, unfortunately right now, intended (the library I'm using does this). Basically when you line up your icons, imagine that the box is the first rune and you'll be fine. I agree it's annoying as heck but I couldn't get around it in the short time I had to fix this.

I plan to make the display more flexible with a plugin-based system so this is a very possible thing within the reasonbly near future (I'm working on my DK atm so it'll be week or so till I'm 80 at least :-).

It's likely it wasn't because there was a bug that caused an issue like that.

Very nice addon.

Is it possible to make the display completely click-through when it is locked in place? As it is now, any attempt to interact with a 3D world object "under" the MagicRunes display fails, even though MagicRunes itself is not an adjustable object once locked.

Blood Tap

I'm very happy with this addon. Thank you so much.

It does appear to have a problem recognizing when Blood Tap has been used. The Rune doesn't show as activated, the bar doesn't show, and it doesn't show the conversion to a Death Rune.

Other than that, I'm having no difficulties at all.

Good mod but it's impossible to configure it which sucks, there is no readme.txt or anything and the runic power is inaccurate to the raw data from the game. By the time it's reads 2 runic i"m already at 20 runic power...it's not a bad concept just a poor application I'll defiantly get this as a raid mod when I start to raid once it gets the bugs worked out.
