DockingStation (Display)  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.5.4 (Beta)
by: Vrul [More]
A display platform for LibDataBroker (LDB) based plug-ins. The display is provided through panels, each having sections (Left, Center, Right) corresponding with how a plugin is justified within it.

All plugins are disabled by default and you must turn on the ones you want to use. This is to avoid the complete mess that results from all plugins being on with the first use. The only plugin on at the start is the one provided by this addon to access its options easily. Just click it to start changing settings.

With plugins unlocked you can drag and drop them to other panels/sections and have them automatically adjust to their new location. There are no limitations on the drag and drop capabilities other than the new location for a plugin must be within a panel. You may also change the location of a plugin through the plugin options menu.

Almost all sub-sections of settings have a default option. The defaults follow a set pattern. First plugins check their settings, if default, they next go to their panel's settings. If the panel is also set to default then it defers to the addon's global settings. Finally, if the global settings are still set to default, then the hard coded defaults are used.

Note: It is recommended that you delete the folder(s) for an existing addon when updating to a different version. This is to keep files that are no longer used from taking up space.

Translators: To submit a translation please just edit existing files (example: DockingStation\Locales\deDE.lua and DockingStation_Config\Locales\deDE.lua) and send them to me.

for my top bar, i changed the BG alpha and still same behavior, does not appear to be hidden under the bar. looks like the center plugins are disappearing completely, half of the ones on the left disappear, and show up again once i drag something around there, and the plugins on the left are all showing up, but i'm unable to drag plugins over to the left, and have to change them manually. dragging to the center also doesn't work, but dragging is fine on the right.

also, i have a bar on the bottom that was working fine, except it was entirely left and right. once i moved something to the center and reloaded just to test it, it bugged out as well, having the same dragging problems as the top bar. so that would leave me to believe that once the center glitch develops, it affects the dragging, but if the bar stays a "center virgin" then there is no issues at all.

hope that's clear enough to understand =D sort of confusing but it does seem to be acting accordingly, not randomly, if that makes sense.

Ok i can use /reloadUI and the Panel is empty except zBrokerClock and
zBrokerPerformance i can see, also the Dockingstation isnt listed
in the addon list in the Interface options anymore. After typing /dockingstation
i am in the docking station config. The Panel is still not updated correctly but atleast i can see the docking station entry in the interface setting now.
If i than go to DockingStation -> Panel Defaults -> Appearance and remove
the checkmark from defaults the panel is updated correctly.
But after playing around a while i found out that it has not to do with the bar settings. It has more to do with the Data Sources that are enabled.
I have enabled and disbaled all off my broker addons after each other and found out that there are some that dont show up and everything else that is loaded after them isnt shown also. The Addons that cause the problem are:
AtlasLoot
Broker_AntiSocial
Broker_Currency
Broker_Factions
Broker_Group
ZOMGBuffs
If i disable all of those in Dockingstation i can at least see all others after a restart or reloadUI, in the interface setting dockingstation still does not appear until i fire the config up via /dockingstation.

I hope this helps a bit.

BtW in the older version this doesnt happen so it must be found in any change u did in that 0.2 version, i will continue with 0.12 beta until this is fixed.

So long Normi.

0.20 Beta

I have the following problem: I deleted my Dockingstation folders,
copied the new one and all i saw was an empty bar showing my
zBrokerClock and zBrokerPerformance on the right side,
also Dockingstation wasnt showing up in the Interfaceoptions under addons.
So i quitted WoW and deleted the Dockingstation.lua. After restarting WoW i had an empty black bar and i could access the settings, so i reconfigured it
the way i wanted it. After another restart the same thing, empty bar with only
clock and performance and no entry in the interface options showing, so i tried
/dockingstation and voila i was in the config, after i changed a single thing all
plugins suddenly appeared on the only Panel i have.

Yeah, but I think many authors take the slimmed down approach of LDB literally there. Display. Some data. Nothing more.

It works for me, I got some launchers on it for my mods and tradeskills, money, xp, rep, repairs (Attrition has autorepair), clock, tekErr, Whisp.

That's it.

Vrul is this doable? Seems pretty straight forward since you already did it for text. I don't use a background - I make it transparent and put it on top of a kgpanels background. So, not sure if that inset fix will work for my situation.

Excellent addon, I made the switch from fuBar today and the only quibble I have is no auto-hide feature (unless I'm dumb and missed that option?) Any chance you could implement it?
Many thanks for making this addon!

Gap Issue

The version I just put up allows you to change the panel setting for the background inset to -1 to workaround the "gap" some are getting at the screen edges.

If you can add in the ability to have a vertical bar, I can stop using two LDB displays and just use this. It does everything I need it to.

One minor minor detail as well: can you chance the spacing element to be like "interior padding" instead? Like... say, 5 pixels between outer edges to the plugin? What I'm getting is that the icons I drag into the display push right up to the top/bottom borders. So since I already have left/right padding, I would like that to apply to top/bottom as well.

Anyway, </rant>

Cheers on a great display addon.
