Tooltip issues are now fixed, but for the love of g*d, use the bug submit feature!
I don't go looking at comments constantly, I don't see what you write here.

I had the same trouble. I looked at how it was done in oUF_expierense and change one string by analogy in that way:
line 55 before:
Code:
			bar:HookScript('OnLeave', GameTooltip_OnLeave)
after:
Code:
			bar:HookScript('OnLeave', GameTooltip_Hide)
And it works

I had the same problem and used your fix (changed oUF_Reputation to Set instead of Hook)...

Hey P3lim,

I've used oUF_Exp and rep for a while now, with the mouseover (thanks for the lil piece of code which does it again btw ).

But on oUF_Reputation (latest from git or from here - both) I get an error that HookScript on line 55 and 56 is wrong. When I change those in SetScript, it works fine (albeit without mouseover).

Originally, I didn't have a statusbar, just the text and a hidden bar.

This is how I call oUF_Reputation in my layout:
Code:
	if(IsAddOnLoaded"oUF_Reputation" and unit == "player" and UnitLevel("player") == MAX_PLAYER_LEVEL) then
		self.Reputation = CreateFrame("StatusBar", nil, self)
		self.Reputation:SetHeight(5)
		self.Reputation:SetStatusBarTexture(statusbar)
		self.Reputation:SetStatusBarColor(unpack(colors.health))
		self.Reputation:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", self.Power, "BOTTOMLEFT", 0, -1)
		self.Reputation:SetPoint("TOPRIGHT", self.Power, "BOTTOMRIGHT", 0, -1)
--		self.Reputation:SetAlpha(0)

		self.Reputation:SetBackdrop{
			bgFile = "Interface\\ChatFrame\\ChatFrameBackground", tile = true, tileSize = 16,
			insets = {left = -2, right = -2, top = -1, bottom = -1},
			}
		self.Reputation:SetBackdropColor(0, 0, 0, .3)
		self.Reputation.Tooltip = true

		self.Reputation.Text = self.Reputation:CreateFontString(nil, "OVERLAY", "GameFontHighlightSmall")
		self.Reputation.Text:SetPoint("CENTER", self.Reputation, "CENTER")

		self.Reputation:HookScript('OnEnter', function(self) self.Reputation:SetAlpha(1) end)
		self.Reputation:HookScript('OnLeave', function(self) self.Reputation:SetAlpha(0) end)
	end

Unfortunately you are asking for something that's clearly stated on every single plugin description page, so basically "read before posting".
I'm backing P3lim as well here. He's painfully helpful, but doesn't sugarcoat things. He says it like it is.

Which brings me to : Thanks man - for the mouseover "hack" ya posted :P

Ive had it with updating the mouseover mess that was requested, so i removed it from my code.

If you want to add it to your layout, follow this:
Mouseover + tooltip
Code:
self.Reputation:HookScript('OnEnter', function(self) self:SetAlpha(1) end)
self.Reputation:HookScript('OnLeave', function(self) self:SetAlpha(0) end)
Just mouseover:
Follow the above code, but use :SetScript instead of :HookScript

Want to customize your tooltip?

Hi,

I've got a little question concerning overriding the reputation bar text, since I can't get this to work.

First I made that function according to your code, like this:

Code:
local function RepOverrideText(min, max, value, name, id)
...
end
Then I registered it in my reputation bar block:

Code:
self.Reputation.OverrideText = RepOverrideText
Now I tried to modify the text in that function:

Code:
self.Reputation.Text:SetFormattedText('%d / %d', value - min, max - min)
That obviously doesn't work since "self" is not a parameter to that function. Also your Update-Function doesn't seem to handle any return value. So how can I actually change the bars text without accessing it via "self.Reputation" or a "bar" parameter?

Thanks in advance!

**edit:

I managed to do what I wanted via using the PostUpdate function (btw. you forgot the "self" parameter to this function in the description part of your code):

Code:
local function RepOverrideText(self, event, unit, bar, min, max, value, name, id)
	self.Reputation.Text:SetFormattedText('%d / %d', value - min, max - min)
end
Still I'd like to know how it's supposed to be done with OverrideText.
I didnt 'forget' the self argument, its always default in a normal api having an own function behind it.

Its called as oUF:OverrideText() and the first argument when using : is always self, even tho its not listed.
If it were oUF.OverrideText() there would be a different matter.

Your finished product, the last example you showed, is the right way to do it.
Though instead of using self.Reputation.Text you can use bar.Text
