Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular; the modes listed below are all separate addons. Only the modes you load adds to the memory and CPU cycles used.

Features:
  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, Failbot, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many addons out there that add functionality, such as Skada Graphs, SkadaEnsidiaFails, Skada Window Buttons, Skada_FriendlyFire, SkadaHealAbsorbs. There is a page with API information here.

Usage:

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada. All suggestions and bug reports are very welcome.

I have not noticed this myself at all, so I seriously doubt that Skada is the reason. Make sure you disable all other addons (and I mean all), and then see if the problem remains. If so, then it is Skada.

I have used it for serveral years...

After 4.1 patch, when I join +15 raid,(some battle grounds or 25 raids)

can't play game by frame drop.(almost 2~3fps... it sucks)


I tried to figure out which addons caused problem, and got answer.

it was SKADA (for 4.1)

after I disabled skada, then it was just fine. Got good frame


anyway... I prefer SKADA to recount!

plz patch up this great one!

Death Logs

Any chance the Death logs are going to get more love.

If someone dies twice on an encounter i can only see the last death.. not the two... any work arounds for this or do i have to goto recount.

Look like you have "Keep Boss Segments" enabled. It only keep the Boss fight segment which Target Dummies is not part of the list. untick the Keep Boss Segment, then you able to see the target dummies segment, however unticking it will keep all the trash mobs segment as well

Thanks for making Skada

I do have 2 problems though with the death module. The first one might be easy: If someone died more than once, how do I access the different 'recordings'?

Secondly, the death report often ends up just empty. Not sure what to say about that, there are no errors I can see (yes, I do have lua errors enable). It's pretty annoying for progress raiding though ;( Anybody else got this?

You can set the combat mode to threat and leave the box for return after combat unchecked. Also, the author did implement a 'clickthrough' option on a window-by-window basis (under 'Bars'). Unfortunately this only prevents left-clicking on the bars (similar to how you drill down the damage window to see your crit rate on Incinerate, etc). What we need is a way to affect the Window:RightClick() function on the main Skada.lua (line 386 iirc). I tried accessing the clickthrough variable, but the function is only passed a 'group' and a 'button'... not a 'window'.

In the Threat settings, how do I keep it from tracking threat unless I'm in an instance? Must be a setting i'm missing. Since I use a pet class (warlock), I tried the "do not warn while tanking" option, but that didn't work.

Currently trying to get the fonts to be Outline and Monochrome. I know its possible to outline the fonts via the GUI, but I think I need to go into the LUA to get them set to monochrome. Any idea where this needs to be? Thanks.

Just wanted to say I LOVE this addon.

I have it showing Total DPS out of combat and it switches to Threat in combat...so cool and I replaced Omen and Recount with a single, smaller addon


EDIT: don't go crazy on all those user requests, I love the small size =)
