Relays trade messages between guild members and through a global chat channel, so that trade chat is visible even when out of a city, so long as at least one person with the addon is in one.

In-Game Commands:

/et show: Shows the trade messsages.
/et hide: Hides the trade messages.
/et color <r g b>: Sets the trade message colors to the red, green, and blue color supplied. RGB values should be between 0 and 255, and be separated by spaces.
/et format <formatstring>: Sets the formatting of the trade messages.

The formatstring should be exactly how you want your messages to be displayed. Substitute "#a" for where you want the author's name to appear, and "#m" for where you want the message to appear.

The default format is "[2. Trade] [#a]: #m"

Which would appear as "[2. Trade] [Zelik]: Hello World!".

/et window <window name>: Sets the chat window that trade messages are displayed in.

/et resetsettings: Resets all settings to their default values.

Users can now specify which chat window they want trade messages to display to.
Author names of trade messages are now clickable.
Messages may now be relayed through a global chat channel, so players need not be in the same guild.

Greetings,

I'm currently trying out EverTrade and I'm seeing the same behavior khurzog described. Apparently it's not a compatibility issue with another add-on since I never ever join the EverTrade channel automatically, not even without any other add-ons.

Global mode is set to on. When I log in and disable it EverTrade reports correctly that messages won't be transmitted any longer. However, when I type /et global again the message stays the same, "Messages Will Not Be Sent Nor Received Globally."

I manually /join EverTrade. From here on in everything works as intended. Now that I've manually joined the channel once typing /et global will leave the channel and disable global mode (if it was enabled). Typing it again will rejoin the channel and reenable global mode.

Hope this helps a little in tracking down the reason for this bevahior.

I just added an option for users to set the chat frame that trade messages are displayed to.

I'll look into the global channel problem. I've seen some funky things happen since 3.0 came out.

The name of the channel is "EverTrade", btw. You shouldn't ever have to join it manually if everything is working properly, although you can. Every standard message in the channel will be hidden, so you won't see the notifications that you have left or joined it. It should display under the Custom section of the Chat Channels pane.

i have two accounts and not all my alts are in the same guild. i would like a way to communicate between my two accounts regardless of guild. it would also be nice to have an option which chat frame to output to, since frame 1 isn't where my normal trade chat is. otherwise thanks this is exactly what i was looking for and didn't expect to find =D



EDIT: i see the global option has been implemented, although i seem to be having trouble with it, says it's on but no channel is open. do i have to manually /join the channel? and if so what does it need to be called?

Yes, another player in your guild will need to have the AddOn installed. In a future version I will probably add a feature to join a global chat channel, so you could see trade chat if anyone on your server had the AddOn installed and was in a city.

However, in the current version, all the message relaying is done between guild members. I updated the project description to reflect this more clearly.

I set up the colors and format, set it to on, made sure i had guildies in various cities then i stepped in and out of the city trade. When i stepped out i got no trade messages. Does a guildie also need the mod?

When did you download the file? Unfortunately, I messed up the zip archive on the first upload, so the AddOn files were actually outside of the EverTrade folder. This would prevent the game from even loading them. The new version fixes this.

Also, in what way is it not working?
