rBBS, an art framework  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 50100.01
by: zork [More]

Intro
This is rBBS an art framework. It provides basic functionality that can be used by rBBS layout styles to display art, models and orbs on screen. The addon does nothing on it's own. You need rBBS-layouts and probably an actionbar mod to make it work properly. This mod just displays art.
Install
Download rBBS and any rBBS-layout you like. Put both into your AddOns folder and start the game afterwards. Make sure you have any kind of actionbar mod installed that hides the default Blizzard actionbar!
Layouts
Default layouts are provided. They must be downloaded spereratly, like oUF layouts. rBBS is just a framework that needs layouts to display data.

Current available layouts:
Roth UI (Roth UI look alike)
OrbsOnly (Example for player, pet and target orbs)
OrbsOnly2 (player and target orbs only)
Diablo1 (Diablo 1 flavoured layout)
Diablo2 (Diablo 2 flavoured layout)
Diablo3 (Diablo 3 flavoured layout)
Diablo3Adjusted (Diablo 3 flavoured layout, but with WoW 12 button system)
Diablo3NoOrbs (Diablo 3 flavoured layout, but wihtout orbs and the bar texture matches WoW 12 button system)
Aion (Aion flavoured layout)
Backdrop (Example layout showing how to do backdrops)

Ingame menu
Use the rBBS menu gem or the /rbbs slash command to open the menu. You can do the following things ingame: lock, unlock, show, hide, resize, scale, move, reset.

Dragframe
Version 1.03 introduced a new API function, the dragframe. If you want to make use of it create it first in your layout and have other frames parent it. (See example layouts). If you move/scale/resize the dragframe all hooked frames will follow.

Fluid animations
The new rBBS supports the fluid animation system of Roth UI 4.009+. You can choose between, no animation, no animation+classcolored, or choose one of the 23 preset animations.
How to create a layout?
Try editing one of the example layouts first to get a feeling for the files. The example layouts use a config.lua and a style.lua. The config.lua has all the config data for the frames you want to spawn in the style function. Most of the config data is optional. But some has to be set. The config does nothing by itself. The style.lua uses the API functions to spawn frames of different types using the config data. In some cases you want hook the frame to the dragframe. The dragframe can be passed as the third element and is optional.
API
The following API spawn function are currently specified. Each API function can handle a buch of config parameters. Set the config parameters in the config of your style and call the spawn function with the specifc config entry. Check layout examples for more.

Thank you much. If you want to see how that font looks with your orbs, here's a screenshot here with my UI, orbs included.

And yah, before anyone comments on my ui, it's supposed to look crazy. lol

Odd, it wouldn't move for me when I tried to move it. Could be because the bottom of my screen is technically not part of the screen since I'm using Sunart to make my game look wide screen. Oh well, I've gotten it looking how I want it so that's all that matters.

On another note, I took a look, but due to my horribly lacking understanding of programming in general, and UI programming in particular, I couldn't figure this out for myself. Is it possible to change the font for the orb display? I mean I saw the 'set me a font' section in the core.lua, but I didn't see anywhere that named a font I recognized. I have the SCT Diablo font (and am using it in a number of different addons) and think that would be quite fitting for Diablo themed health/mana orbs.

You can do that yourself, its quite easily done. The styles can be easily adjusted.

Find this
Code:
  ------------------------------------------------------
  -- / CREATE D3 STYLE (ADAPTED) / --
  ------------------------------------------------------
  local function create_d3_style(scale)
    --holder
    local holder = create_me_a_frame("Frame","rBBS_Holder",UIParent,"BACKGROUND",1,100,100,"BOTTOM",0,0,scale)
    frame_to_scale = holder
    --bar texture
    local bar = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"BACKGROUND",2,1024,512,"BOTTOM",0,0,1)
    local bar_tex = create_me_a_texture(bar,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\"..rBottomBarStyler.barvalue)
    bar_to_show = bar_tex
    --orbs
    create_orb("life",200,holder,"BOTTOM",-525,-6,1,"orb_filling4",rBottomBarStyler.healthorb)
    create_orb("mana",200,holder,"BOTTOM",525,-6,1,"orb_filling4",rBottomBarStyler.manaorb)
    --xp
    local xpholder = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"BACKGROUND",7,1178,32,"BOTTOM",0,104,1)
    local xpholder_tex = create_me_a_texture(xpholder,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\xpbar")
    --left figure
    local lefty = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"BACKGROUND",7,512,256,"BOTTOM",-520,0,1)
    local lefty_tex = create_me_a_texture(lefty,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\figure_left")
    --right figure
    local righty = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"BACKGROUND",7,512,256,"BOTTOM",522,0,1)
    local righty_tex = create_me_a_texture(righty,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\figure_right")
    --dragframe
    local dragframe = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"TOOLTIP",1,100,100,"BOTTOM",0,0,scale,true)
    frame_to_drag = dragframe
  end
Adjust the XPbar and the background art position the be off-screen. You can adjust the orb positions too, no problem.

Can look like this when done:
Code:
  ------------------------------------------------------
  -- / CREATE D3 STYLE (ADAPTED) / --
  ------------------------------------------------------
  local function create_d3_style(scale)
    --holder
    local holder = create_me_a_frame("Frame","rBBS_Holder",UIParent,"BACKGROUND",1,100,100,"BOTTOM",0,0,scale)
    frame_to_scale = holder
    --bar texture
    local bar = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,UIParent,"BACKGROUND",2,1024,512,"BOTTOM",0,-2000,1)
    local bar_tex = create_me_a_texture(bar,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\"..rBottomBarStyler.barvalue)
    bar_to_show = bar_tex
    --orbs
    create_orb("life",200,holder,"BOTTOM",-525,-6,1,"orb_filling4",rBottomBarStyler.healthorb)
    create_orb("mana",200,holder,"BOTTOM",525,-6,1,"orb_filling4",rBottomBarStyler.manaorb)
    --xp
    local xpholder = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,UIParent,"BACKGROUND",7,1178,32,"BOTTOM",0,-2000,1)
    local xpholder_tex = create_me_a_texture(xpholder,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\xpbar")
    --left figure
    local lefty = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"BACKGROUND",7,512,256,"BOTTOM",-520,0,1)
    local lefty_tex = create_me_a_texture(lefty,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\figure_left")
    --right figure
    local righty = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"BACKGROUND",7,512,256,"BOTTOM",522,0,1)
    local righty_tex = create_me_a_texture(righty,"BACKGROUND","Interface\\AddOns\\rBottomBarStyler\\d3tex\\figure_right")
    --dragframe
    local dragframe = create_me_a_frame("Frame",nil,holder,"TOOLTIP",1,100,100,"BOTTOM",0,0,scale,true)
    frame_to_drag = dragframe
  end
Look inside the texture folder and use the textures you want to use. Thats it.

Dude, thats the area that makes your bars movable. Just lock the bar again. See commands for locking.

Re: rBottomBarStyler (Diablo)

The smoothing is Roth UI only.

rBottomBarStyler (Diablo)

Hey Zork. I commend you for your hard work in getting this AddOn completed and the step from LUA to in-game slash commands was a nice change.

Some things I noticed about your UI Compilation (Roth UI) and this standalone addon with the orbs are they are not as "smooth" like with the oUB and the modules with that. For example on a rogue or cat druid, the energy in the orbs act as if it were Classic/Burning Crusade style, where the update is not as smooth and seamless as it is now ('15 -> 45 -> 80 energy' vs today's '15->16->17->18->19->20').

Do you plan to smooth it out like in your Roth Compilation, or alike the oUF_Smooth style?
Also do you plan to add a method for users to change the values on the orbs, to show exact value or percent (%)?

Props again.

Will there be a way to have different profiles per character in a future release?
