rBBS, an art framework  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 50100.01
by: zork [More]

Intro
This is rBBS an art framework. It provides basic functionality that can be used by rBBS layout styles to display art, models and orbs on screen. The addon does nothing on it's own. You need rBBS-layouts and probably an actionbar mod to make it work properly. This mod just displays art.
Install
Download rBBS and any rBBS-layout you like. Put both into your AddOns folder and start the game afterwards. Make sure you have any kind of actionbar mod installed that hides the default Blizzard actionbar!
Layouts
Default layouts are provided. They must be downloaded spereratly, like oUF layouts. rBBS is just a framework that needs layouts to display data.

Current available layouts:
Roth UI (Roth UI look alike)
OrbsOnly (Example for player, pet and target orbs)
OrbsOnly2 (player and target orbs only)
Diablo1 (Diablo 1 flavoured layout)
Diablo2 (Diablo 2 flavoured layout)
Diablo3 (Diablo 3 flavoured layout)
Diablo3Adjusted (Diablo 3 flavoured layout, but with WoW 12 button system)
Diablo3NoOrbs (Diablo 3 flavoured layout, but wihtout orbs and the bar texture matches WoW 12 button system)
Aion (Aion flavoured layout)
Backdrop (Example layout showing how to do backdrops)

Ingame menu
Use the rBBS menu gem or the /rbbs slash command to open the menu. You can do the following things ingame: lock, unlock, show, hide, resize, scale, move, reset.

Dragframe
Version 1.03 introduced a new API function, the dragframe. If you want to make use of it create it first in your layout and have other frames parent it. (See example layouts). If you move/scale/resize the dragframe all hooked frames will follow.

Fluid animations
The new rBBS supports the fluid animation system of Roth UI 4.009+. You can choose between, no animation, no animation+classcolored, or choose one of the 23 preset animations.
How to create a layout?
Try editing one of the example layouts first to get a feeling for the files. The example layouts use a config.lua and a style.lua. The config.lua has all the config data for the frames you want to spawn in the style function. Most of the config data is optional. But some has to be set. The config does nothing by itself. The style.lua uses the API functions to spawn frames of different types using the config data. In some cases you want hook the frame to the dragframe. The dragframe can be passed as the third element and is optional.
API
The following API spawn function are currently specified. Each API function can handle a buch of config parameters. Set the config parameters in the config of your style and call the spawn function with the specifc config entry. Check layout examples for more.

First off, would it be okay for me to change up the appearance of this a bit? I'd really love to make a druid-themed... theme.

If I were to do that, how would I make it so that only one of the orbs would be changed? For example, I want to make the health orb a moon and the mana orb a sun, but seeing as they're taking from the same artwork files it doesn't seem possible, and I'm a total LUA novice so I can't do it myself. I took a whack at it but it didn't work out too well.

Re: im VERY NEW

First find the downloaded file. You need to extract the files, they are "zipped" into a package to make them smaller.
Rightclick the zip icon and say extract to here (if that is possible) otherwise choose any other extract option.
Extract it to your Desktop would be best. The folder you need is called "rBottomBarStyler", make sure you only copy that folder from the extracted package.
Now find your the folder where you installed World of Warcraft. Using Vista/Windows 7 you may need to read: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=14650

In your World of Warcraft folder is a "Interface" folder. Inside that is a "AddOns" folder. Copy the "rBottomBarStyler" folder inside your "AddOns" folder.

Before you can actually start the game you need a actionbarmod since this mod only does art, but not actionbars. So go and download Dominos. Extract them the same way.

Start the game when done and check the AddOns button in the bottom left corner of your characterlist (it appears once you have one addon installed). I think you need to turn on "load out of date addons" since this once hasn't been updated for quite some time now.

I am using this addon along with jExp2. However, I can't seem to find the bottom bar graphic that is shown in the jExp2 page. Is it available in the Diablo package and I'm just not seeing it?

I glance through pots and didnt find anything, but with your oUF D3 Orbs addon, its possible to change the in combat color of the health orb.

Is there a way to do the same thing with this one?

Orbs

I have had this addon for a while, it is the best addon out there. Anyway, I had this addon way back when the orbs had that glowing texture, I understand that Blizzard got rid of that texture and now you are working with the galaxies. Is it possible to have the glowing effect? I mean, has Blizzard added the textures back? I definitely liked the glowing textures a lot more.

Otherwise than that, I love this addon. Thanks for all the great work Zork,

Would it be possible for you to make a version where the domino's is already configured ontop of your roth frame? I'm terrible at matching them up.

Health Abbreviation

Hi! Thanks for the awesome addon and beautiful graphic work, easily one of my favorites.

My only question is I can't figure out how to change the health/mana amounts to their actual number instead of an abbreviation (i.e., where it says 22.8k I want it to say 22843 instead).

I've seen that other people have brought up the same problem and I just can't find the answer to it! Please help!

Hey, great addon! I was wondering if it would be possible for you to implement debuff coloring of the health orb?

hello! I'm new to this community, nice to meet you haha!

first thanks for wonderful add on!

I've been looking into the core.lua file, is there a way to change the "Mana Orb" into like..." Target Health Orb colour depending on class..etc" ?

Code:
 local function orbmana(orb2,orb2_fill,glow1,glow2,orbtext1,orbtext2)
    orb2:SetScript("OnEvent", function(self, event, arg1, ...)
      if arg1 == "Target" then
        local uh, uhm = UnitHealth("Target"), UnitHealthMax("Target")
        local perc = floor(uh/uhm*100)
        local nuh = do_format(uh)
        local nuhm = do_format(uhm)
        orbtext1:SetText(perc)
        if text_display == 1 then
          orbtext2:SetText(nuh)
        else
          orbtext2:SetText(nuh.."/"..nuhm)
        end
        orb1_fill:SetHeight((uh/uhm) * orb1_fill:GetWidth())
        orb1_fill:SetTexCoord(0,1, math.abs(uh/uhm - 1),1)

        if usegalaxy == 1 then
          hgal1:SetAlpha(uh / uhm)
          hgal2:SetAlpha(uh / uhm)
          hgal3:SetAlpha(uh / uhm)
        else
          glow1:SetAlpha((uh / uhm)/fog_smoother)
          glow2:SetAlpha((uh / uhm)/fog_smoother)
        end
      end
    end)
    orb2:RegisterEvent("UNIT_HEALTH")
    orb2:RegisterEvent("PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD")
  end
after i did this and reload ui, it doesnt give me error, and right click on the manaorb frame ,it pop up as player rightclick options,

do I need to change anything else to achieve this? (I'm still new to these codes)

I hope you dont mind me changing the codes ,
is just that I'm a DK and only need to see numbers of my runic power floating. dont want such a good nice and big orb gone to waste haha!

Thanks again!
