Intro
This is rBBS an art framework. It provides basic functionality that can be used by rBBS layout styles to display art, models and orbs on screen. The addon does nothing on it's own. You need rBBS-layouts and probably an actionbar mod to make it work properly. This mod just displays art.
Install
Download rBBS and any rBBS-layout you like. Put both into your AddOns folder and start the game afterwards. Make sure you have any kind of actionbar mod installed that hides the default Blizzard actionbar!
Layouts
Default layouts are provided. They must be downloaded spereratly, like oUF layouts. rBBS is just a framework that needs layouts to display data.

Current available layouts:
Roth UI (Roth UI look alike)
OrbsOnly (Example for player, pet and target orbs)
OrbsOnly2 (player and target orbs only)
Diablo1 (Diablo 1 flavoured layout)
Diablo2 (Diablo 2 flavoured layout)
Diablo3 (Diablo 3 flavoured layout)
Diablo3Adjusted (Diablo 3 flavoured layout, but with WoW 12 button system)
Diablo3NoOrbs (Diablo 3 flavoured layout, but wihtout orbs and the bar texture matches WoW 12 button system)
Aion (Aion flavoured layout)
Backdrop (Example layout showing how to do backdrops)

Ingame menu
Use the rBBS menu gem or the /rbbs slash command to open the menu. You can do the following things ingame: lock, unlock, show, hide, resize, scale, move, reset.

Dragframe
Version 1.03 introduced a new API function, the dragframe. If you want to make use of it create it first in your layout and have other frames parent it. (See example layouts). If you move/scale/resize the dragframe all hooked frames will follow.

Fluid animations
The new rBBS supports the fluid animation system of Roth UI 4.009+. You can choose between, no animation, no animation+classcolored, or choose one of the 23 preset animations.
How to create a layout?
Try editing one of the example layouts first to get a feeling for the files. The example layouts use a config.lua and a style.lua. The config.lua has all the config data for the frames you want to spawn in the style function. Most of the config data is optional. But some has to be set. The config does nothing by itself. The style.lua uses the API functions to spawn frames of different types using the config data. In some cases you want hook the frame to the dragframe. The dragframe can be passed as the third element and is optional.
API
The following API spawn function are currently specified. Each API function can handle a buch of config parameters. Set the config parameters in the config of your style and call the spawn function with the specifc config entry. Check layout examples for more.

What is so special with the dragframe?
Other frames can anchor the dragframe. If you size the dragframe all other frames will be scaled on your dragframe resize.
If you move the dragframe all other frames that hooked the dragframe will follow.
Thus you can now resize your whole art again by resizing one frame in the game.

That is the rBBS_Backdrop layout. Textures are included in that layout.

Currently thinking a another api function. A function that allows spawning of backdrop frames with the possibily of showing gradient texture.

That way you can create backgrounds for chatframes or those famous and ugly black bars on the bottom.

*edit* Ok that was quick. But I already had the textures and values from my testmod (rSetBackdrop) ... so. Added a new API function to spawn frames using backdrops.

Version 1.04 and an example layout are out:

Added an ingame menu.

I already adjusted the my Roth UI layout to make use of the dragframe. I will add that to the other example layouts aswell.

Thus the layout only does the general setup and default settings. But you can adjust that to your liking now ingame. Data is now saved aswell per character in your savedvariables.

Would you like two spawn a second health orb for target instead of the power orb of the player?
This can all be done. The config.lua defines your settings. The style.lua spawns the frames and uses the config settings.

In version 1.02 there are 3 spawn functions. One for a frame with texture, one for a health orb and one for a power orb.

So if you don't want any power orb open the style.lua and remove the power orb spawn or comment it out by adding "--" in front of the line. (Keep the config settings in case you want to spawn it later.)

If you want to add a second health orb check the orbsonly2 layout. You can copy the config settings and spawn from that layout into your current layout.

Great addon, but is there a way to only show the health orb and hide/disable the mana orb of any layout ? can't find anything in the config.lua file to do this.

I made progress. The next version will have a new API spawn function: A drag frame. The cool thing about a dragframe is that other frames can parent that frame and with a trick the resizing of that will affect the scale of all childrens.

That way you could unlock the dragframe and move/size it and ALL other children frames will follow.

Additionally I'm planing to add a tiny menu locking/unlocking. That way you can lock/unlock frames ingame seperately.



Got it working. The dragframe can be moved and resized. If you move it all anchor frames will follow. If you resize it all anchor frames will be scaled.

But you can move and size anchor frame individually too while still remaining above.



Need to do the ingame menu but after that release is coming.

If you did the changes by moving stuff ingame you need to copy the "layout-local.txt" from your WTF/Server/Character folder. If you made changes to the config all chars will have the same setting.

Yeah of course, but was thinking of, uhm, events that could change the texture. Just like the standard Blizzard bar.
And one more thing, are you going to add more api functions like experience bar or is that out of the picture for this addon?

You don't need to quit the game. /reload is what you can do to see the new settings.

Yeah but the point is now it take like 20 times longer to modify the layout to our liking because in order to see the changes to the layout text someone has to exit WOW completely instead of simply being able to have a menu or slash command and only have to /reload to do what needs to be done.

You don't edit the addon anymore. You edit the layout which is completly fine. The layout is specific to your liking. The basic layout is just a general setting that converts into your specific layout once you do changes.

well i also forgot the full path to the file

problem i have is getting them sized enough to fit them all in the frame..may not work but oh well.

so with that went looking through the spells in WMV

liking this all so far.
