Sound commands for every sound updated for Wrath   Updated less than 3 days ago!   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Technically this isn't an addon. It's a zip that contains a text file that listd the /script commands to play almost any sound in game.

If it was in the MPQ files then there should be a /script command to play them. From 25 man raid bosses to the sound a Gnome Male makes when dying.

I've also included instructions on how to do this yourself if I ever drop off the face of the earth

Instructions for use

1) Unzip the zip file

2) Open up "wowsoundsupdateto32.txt" using Word, Wordpad, Notepad or any decent text editor.

3) Use Control-F ie the Find function to find what you need.

3) Copy that /script command with Control-C (copy)

4) Switch to the game

5) Press Enter to bring up a chat box

6) Control - V to Paste it in.

7) Press return. The sound should play

These script commands can also be used in Macros

Now before posting in the comments about looking for a sound please make the effort to find it first.

I'm not trying to be mean or rude it's just that I might not always have the time to find it for you. I might not even be able to login to the game to test that I've found the right sound for you as I could be answering posts at work. Try searching on the NPC name or alternatives of the NPC name. Don't be afraid to try ones you think it is. Once you've exhausted all reasonable avenues to find it yourself then post and I'm sure someone will be happy to help

I've spot checked a few but haven't tested every single /script command I've listed here. Let me know if some aren't working for you.

My Favourites :

/script PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\NPCGhoul\\NPCGhoulVendor04.wav")
/script PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\NPCGeist\\NPCGeistVendor04.wav")

An interesting wow wiki page with categories of sound command files is at :

Jean-FranÁois Roy of www.devklog.net - MPQ Extractor.app
Bare Bones Software - Text Wrangler
Verissi - Perl script for adding windows compatiable carriage returns
Mordroth of Bladefist realm - alerting to me to the fact I'ld missed some 3.1 sounds ..Thanks bro!
Eisa - For helping with the 3.2 update and making the addon I couldn't . Go take a look at AudioX a new way of exploring wow sounds

From now on I will be doing full extracts of all the MPQ files for each patch with new sounds in it. I will then be filtering first on all known sound file extensions then on all the other file extensions I see.

So unless the sound you are looking for is in the client program (unlikely) it should be in this listing.

If you can't find it under what you would expect it's because it's named differently to what you would expect.

Update for 3.3.2 coming !!!

Very good work. I've done a lot with the information from your list. One thing I can't find is the sound for hunter aspects. The in-game sound played for each aspect is actually a combination of a base sound plus a unique sound for each aspect. Your list contains each of those unique aspects, but the base sound still remains (and is actually the louder, more dominant portion of the aggregate sound effect). Do you happen to know what this might be called? I would *love* to get rid of it.

COMMENCE TESTING !!!!
I've ran a few tests while updating AudioX's SoundLib from your Sound List and everything seems to check out:
  • Nothing from the 3.2 list is missing
  • New soundpaths stick to Blizzards naming conventions
  • Random testing with the new AudioX has yet to find any new sounds that don't playback.

Keep up the good work

Nice. Btw, that sound of dismounting is called 'SpiritWolf.wav'. Eisa's addon helped a lot with that!

It might come to that - thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

Having gone up and down thru the list again, repeatedly, I've come to the conclusion that the 'woosh' sound is also shared by some other event/spell/etc, and is going by *that* name, and not something that stands out about dismounting. Trouble is, I can't recall anything else sharing that sound.

But otherwise...

No idea, but you could try hunting it down using AudioX. (Spot the shameless plug )

First, I have to thank you for this list. It really opens up the door to customizing some sounds!

Not sure about that sorry

As for the website ...that would be a violation of the EULA , TOS and Copyright. So you possibly will not get help for that here

An other questions. Is there any website, where i can download a package of all toc sound files? Some months ago i found package of ulduar including all bosses and so on. But for ToC can't find anything

Thanks
