Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.8
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Slash commands: /shadoweduf (/suf)

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

buff issue

hello!

thanks for this great addon, i just made the change from ag_unitframes to shadowed unitframes and i really love it!

i got a minimal issue with target buffs, in ag_Unitframes i had buffs placed to grow in horizontal, just like this:

and my question is, it possible to make the buffs grow in horizontal instead of vertical?

thanks in advance!

Enable advanced settings and you'll be able to manually move them down through the aura settings.

Debuffs moved up

Just a small issue with the debuffs on my target frame being moved up. The tops of the debuff icons are normally flush with the bottom of the target frame, but after the recent patches (to wow, and to SUF), they have moved up so the tops of the debuff icons are now inside the bottom of the target frame. Here's a pic of what I am trying to say

Is this a bug or do I need to manually move them down somehow? Not sure if one of the options got reset during a recent update, but I haven't changed any settings yet - the debuffs just moved seemingly on their own Thanks!

cloudwolf:

1) Unit configuration -> Party -> Hide in ny raid
2) Hide Blizzard -> Hide arena frames, or if you want to hide SUFs then Enabled units -> Arena

Zidomo:

If you were able to run the below next time it happens, I could sort out what's causing it. I'm pretty sure it's a Blizzard issue or I'd have seen more reports of the bug by now. Unless it's some odd state bug.

For raids:
/script for i=1, GetNumRaidMembers() do if( UnitIsDead("raid" .. i) ) then print(UnitName("raid" .. i), UnitHealth("raid" .. i)) end end

For parties:
/script for i=1, GetNumPartyMembers() do if( UnitIsDead("party" .. i) ) then print(UnitName("party" .. i), UnitHealth("party" .. i)) end end

Potter: Update to 3.2.12

1 or 2 requests/bugs?
1) would you make it so if im in a raid group it doesn't matter my location it automatically hides the party frame? or have an option for that functionality. Its a pain if your doing say WG or city raiding to have party frames and raid frames.
2) i can no longer find the option to hide enemy arena frames when in an arena there doesn't seem to be a toggle. That could be a problem or it could be intentional or i'm just blind.

Is it something that can be worked around on the mod end? Its not a giant problem in parties, of course. In raids, however, it makes the raid frames unusable for healing (I have yet to see the issue in one raid done since the patch on a healer).

I had a problem today in icc 25..I have a picture if you want proof..

we were on gunship..the health frames for the horde & alliance ships loaded no problem..

I didn't see the enemy ship's health drop at all..it stayed at full the entire encounter..

I have bugsack..no errors came up..

I didn't get disconnected before or during the encounter either..I don't even tab out..ever..a quirk of mine ^_^

Keep in mind, SUF boss frames use the 'official' boss# unitids Blizzard added. They only show up for (off the top of my head), Gunship and prince. An easy way of determining if the boss frames in SUF should be shown is this script: /script print(UnitExists("boss1") and "Boss frames!" or "No boss frames.")

davidrm15: Are you on the US or EU servers?
Im in Us Server , Ragnaros.I ll check u say , i move the frame boss but i think the problem is for Suf, i know ppl in my guild use this addon too, and see the problem.Ah, im relogging in middle fight gunship, when enter the healt frame are correct, but stack in this point so i think the problem is for SUF.Default frame boss are in right position , i have timer for dbm in right position, but when i had SUF i moved boss frame for left. The problem is bars for dbm are in right position??

SUF v3.2.11, WoW 3.3.5 live: the range fader is still borked.

In Halls of Stone heroic (a 5-man party using SUF's party frames). All range faders were fine...until the deaths.

2 Paladins, 1 Death Knight (DK), 2 Mages (of which I was one). The undergeared Paladin tank died during an overenthusiatic trash pull, as did the DK & second Paladin (the healer). The 2 Mages survived.

The Paladin healer was ressurected by one of the Mages (not me) using an engineering tool. The healer then attempted to res the other two people; they did not accept. The first person (the tank) took over 4 minutes to return by coming in the entrance. When he returned, his range fading was fine. 1 minute later the DK returned via the entrance.

But...the DK had his party frame remaining "out of range" faded throughout the rest of the instance to the end, despite the fact he was nearly always within range.

Back to v3.2.10-7-g7727aff.
