SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Could this be implemented?


Hovering over your own Portrait shows you (on your tooltip on mouseover) who's targeting you. Hovering over the target portrait shows who's assisting you on the target. Xperl had something similar to this: http://s.wowinterface.com/preview/pvw9182.jpg

Not planning on adding LibResComm-1.0 support, if by debuff icons you mean you can set a specific debuff to show somewhere inside the unit frame then no, not going to add that.

Any chance for http://www.wowace.com/addons/librescomm-1-0/ compatibility?

Would be neat to use it as a tag to know if the unit is being ressed.

Oh yea and the very last thing I miss from these unitframes are debuff icons, atm it's rather difficult to know if people are feared or frost novaed during the trash up to vezax.

AudreyChandler: r20090801 fixed the bug with it assigning by index than "real" position, I rewrote the positioning code again though so it might be fixed in the next push.

I redid some of the incoming heal code as well, my assumption is it's some weird rounding error that is adding up over time, if it still happens after next push let me know.

The health deficit is pretty small like Guardix said, there's infrequently party members that you just can't "top off" no matter how many piddle heals you fling at them. I will make a macro of that script and keep it on hand for if/when I see the issue again.

As far as pets: no, the players with pets were there since the group formed (ie, outside the instance, not in combat). And yes, I sort by Name (probably Ascending, knowing me).

I know you already told me that there's a bug which assigns the pet frames by index regardless of party sort, and I do encounter that too (but not a big deal as long as I can SEE all the pets :3).

As 3.2 is looking like it's coming tomorrow: Current version of SUF will work fine with 3.2, while I'll probably release a version tomorrow of Wednesday for other features it's not a requirement to update.

No, it uses the Blizzard predicted health which is only around 0.10 - 0.30 seconds slower than Blizzards which is capped by FPS so the better your computer is the less difference between Blizzards and Instant Health there is.

What kind of health deficit are you seeing still, is it a small amount maybe 5% that could be caused by buffs falling off or is it 15%-30% from a large heal that is not recognized as being gone?

Next time you see this happen do this, target the person who is bugging out and has the incoming heal bar stuck and type the below and give me the results, should be able to get an idea of what's going on from that.

totalHeaing being spelled wrong is a typo in the code, not a typo in this script.

/script print(ShadowUF.modules.incHeal.totalHeaing[UnitName("target")] or 0, ShadowUF.modules.incHeal.playerHeals[UnitName("target")] or 0, SUFUnittarget.incHeal.total, SUFUnittarget.incHeal.nextUpdate)

AudreyChandler: Adding a tag that shows incoming heal amounts is something I want to do, but HealComm isn't a standard Blizzard script so it's a bit of a pain to add support for as a tag, once I think of a better way of handling it I'll add support.

Oh, also, any chance of getting Incoming Heals displayed as text as well as bar extension? That's the one thing I miss from Healbot / Grid, since my brain tends to work almost entirely in digits instead of spatial relations ("6.2k deficit... now 7.1k incoming heal... score, I can turn my attention elsewhere"). (and learn not to overheal but w/e it was a random example :P)

Preferably it would just share a spot with Health Deficit, but if it ended up as its own independent tag I still wouldn't be complaining. :]

Hey Shadowed, thanks for fixing the 3.2 "interruptible is nil variable" error. Was really clogging up the screen in instances. x]

On that note, been running some today and encountered two minor issues that didn't produce error messages so I can only describe them:

1. Pets are still not showing when summoned in combat. This is inside an instance (so I'm already partied), but any (party) pets summoned during combat will intermittently not appear. They still won't appear, even after combat drops, until I /reloadui. This is frustrating to try to isolate because it doesn't happen consistently.

2. Every once in a while, a health deficit will stubbornly remain displayed no matter how much healing the unit gets. This seems to be an out-of-combat only issue (that is, all healing seems to be assessed properly in-combat). It *might* be related to health deficits caused by buff applications, but that's speculation based on circumstances only.

As always, thanks for all your hard work on this. My favorite healing frames ever. :]

Oh, also, been doing tons of vehicle combat today and didn't encounter any errors or issues with incorrect party display as some have been reporting here. In fact it's quite nice how the party frame just merrily turns green and I know the person is in-vehicle, with the mount displayed as a pet.

(Except when they remount in combat and the pet frame disappears... lol).
