Shadowed Unit Frames  Updated Today!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v3.8.9
by: Shadowed [More]
SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Slash commands: /shadoweduf (/suf)

Donations are not required, but are appreciated!

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features
  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Currently released modules:
Aura indicators for unit frames
Smoothbars for unit frames
Trinket based tags
Damn Unit Sounds, not technically a SUF module it will restore the Blizzard sounds on targeting, focusing or toggling the PVP flag

Tagging as release v3.8.0

--------------------

Shadowed:
- Added incoming absorbs to UFs, shown in front of incoming heals and can be capped like incoming heals
- Release the temporary variables the mover is disabled to GC
- Reorganize and slightly optimize the incoming module so it can be used for other incoming type bars
- Remembered to update the options TOC this time
- Bars that override visibility (Alt Power) will now register their tags properly
- Refactored combo points and subset modules (holy power/shadow orbs/soul shards) to reduce duplicate code
- Refactor aura points to be completely within the combo points system to reduce potential bugs
- Don't reparent as it seems to break TargetFrame no matter what
- Set the size/point of the hidden frame so we don't get errors
- Removed the Clique shiv for menus as it's been fixed in latest Clique
- Cleanup Blizzard frame hiding - Reparent frames we hide to reduce the chance of them showing because of other peoples incompetence - Use CVars to hide the arena frames while out of combat to reduce the chance of taint issues
- Added support for Mage's Rune of Power
- Added assigned role sorting for 5.2
- Implemented 5.2 menu system, not tested on non-5.1, but you're downloading alpha, so it's your fault if it breaks
- Add a config flag to hide totem bars if no totems are active
- Fix the logic used to force the raid frames to update, and also clear the children points before doing it
- Name the cooldown frames cause Tullers a jerk
- Don't muck with CRF strata if we aren't hiding it and we are in combat
- Added Rogue's Anticipation as an Aura Points trackable spell
- Only cancel auras if you click on an unit that is the player, not type of player (oops)
- If the compact raid frames aren't hidden, bump the frame strata up on the frame manager (again)

Gonbrok: Try the latest version, that should fix the incoming heal issues.
I got a white text read-out in my chatbox, saying this:

Charcoal Interface\Addons\ShadowedUnitFrames\media\textures\Charcoal
Charcoal Interface\Addons\ShadowedUnitFrames\media\textures\Charcoal

The texture loads and works fine in Quartz with no issue, however upon relogging or reloading ui, I get same result as before, the texture for my quartz bar reverts back to "Blizzard" texture.

Edit: I decided to try my own solution and try opening Quartz.lua in the normal quartz folder, and adding this:

media:Register("statusbar", "Charcoal", "Interface\\AddOns\\ShadowedUnitFrames\\media\\textures\\Charcoal")

under the media fetch lines, i'll write back with results.

Edit2: My solution worked, although it's a dorky solution because there should be a way around this, so I don't have to add in a buncha textures to Quartz, JUST to get it to work.

Sorry if I made you deter your attention away from your own mod, to try and help me with a totally different addon.

You may be right, and if so, heres the problem in detail:

If I choose "Charcoal" as my Quartz player & target bar texture, which COMES from your addon, it works. However, if I reload ui or log in out/off/on the game, Quartz reverts back to the "Blizzard" texture, thinking the charcoal texture doesn't exist, even though it's right there.

So i'm assuming it's a issue with SUF, hogging textures for itself(if that comes across right) or Quartz just simply not working well with SUF.

Fair enough. Next time I get a group I can demand that everyone sit still for me for a bit.

I really do like the flexible anchoring and the "global" configuration thing. Super clever interface, that.

This is a pretty awesome addon.

I just switched from PitBull, and so far I'm liking this a lot better -- much easier to modify.

But WAIT! I do lack one thing. Or can't find it.

I want a "config" mode -- display all the frames so I can see where they are and what they look like. Does this exist?

Will make it show "Released" instead of "Ghost" (Only change the last part, if you change the actual key it'll error)

Sentient: Not something I plan since it's not a simple flag to change the filling of health bars.

Castle: I'll look into it in a bit, but this sounds more like a flaw in something Quartz is doing.

wallen: It's something I'll add in one of the coming pushes, but right now I'm working on finishing up the Grid module.
If it were quartz doing it, an update would have fixed it, but it only started doing this, since using your unit mod, I havent touched nor updated quartz at all.

Could you add a options to disable the right click menu on all frame(player, tartget focus, party. etc) during combat.
You have add a option to disable the tooltip during combat.
Thanks.

Hello,
For target frames, X and Y offsets and font changes don't seem to work on right aligned text on healthbars.

Thanks!

I've been having a problem with the incoming heal notification as well. It works fine if I have no target selected (auto-cast self) or if I have myself targeted. But if I'm targeting other people there is no visual heal on the unit frame.

Switched to the debug incheal lua you linked, and this is what came out:

Targeting Self, Regrowth (Showing incoming heal):
Code:
[16:10:08] updateHealthBar SUFUnittarget Freyrrkin 0 true
[16:10:08] UpdateIncoming Freyrrkin 3876.5037142857 nil Freyrrkin
[16:10:08] UpdateHealing Freyrrkin nil 0
[16:10:08] updateHealthBar SUFUnitplayer Freyrrkin 3876 nil
[16:10:08] updateHealthBar SUFUnittarget Freyrrkin 3876 nil
[16:10:10] UpdateIncoming Freyrrkin 0 true Freyrrkin
[16:10:10] UpdateHealing Freyrrkin true 0
[16:10:10] updateHealthBar SUFUnitplayer Freyrrkin 0 true
[16:10:10] updateHealthBar SUFUnittarget Freyrrkin 0 true
Targeting another player, Regrowth (Not showing incoming heal):
Code:
[16:10:34] updateHealthBar SUFUnittarget Faeker 0 true
[16:10:34] UpdateIncoming Freyrrkin 3876.5037142857 nil Faeker
[16:10:34] UpdateHealing Faeker nil 0
[16:10:34] updateHealthBar SUFUnittarget Faeker 0 nil
[16:10:36] UpdateIncoming Freyrrkin 0 true Faeker
[16:10:36] UpdateHealing Faeker true 0
[16:10:36] updateHealthBar SUFUnittarget Faeker 0 true

Party Pet in Party Frame

Any chance we could get a additional (toggleable) bar added to the party frames to show the party member's pet health without using the seperate Party Pet frames?

Or perhaps a "Blank Bar" option that we can fill out the tags manually to get the desired result.

Hello, this really isn't a bug, but where is the coding that changes the word "Ghost" in party frames? I would like to change it

Also, I cannot edit size or x and y offsets for right text on target health bars

Thanks!

Would it be possible and easy to implement having the target frame exactly mirror the player one (including bars emptying/filing in opposite directions)?

Thanks
