SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Group Row Spacing

Hi there!

Thank you for this amazing mod. I love how configurable it is and have been sharing it with others in my guild.

In doing so, I noted an oddity with group row spacing on Raid frames: if you adjust them to row grow up with group row spacing set to 50, the gap between groups is about twice the size as if you adjust them to row grow down with group row spacing set to 50. I'm not sure why this happens.

I was also hoping there might be a place I could change that group row spacing maximum or an option to enable me to spread the groups out vertically in a single row. Choosing one group or many per row seems to align them horizontally.

Having a hard time creating a tag. I want to place a tag on my player frame that returns the name of my focus target. The reason I need this is that I only use focus targeting for Misdirection. I don't really need the frame, I just need to know that the Misdirects are going to the right person.

How would I go about creating such a tag?

Long time user

First off, thanks for this amazing add on. I have tried a lot of different frame mods but this one just works for me. Have been using this for a long time now and have never had any issues, until now. Played for a bit this morning then logged out for a while, came back and all my profiles are gone! When I logged out it was due to WoW becoming unresponsive, I didn't have the configuration window open for SUF at the time. No errors popped up on log in later, just a message from SUF that my frames were unlocked. Needless to say the frames weren't in the right position so I went to my profiles to select the frames I made for my mage and there was nothing there other than the default profile. Any wild ideas as to what may have happened?

Player bars will not move

I cannot get the Player bars or attack bars or the raid/party bars to move
I click on the unlock button and an error comes up and nothing moves,
even after I try to click the lock back button the Buff buttons do not go away
Can anyone help with this please and thanks

Buff and debuff anchoring.

First off, I'd like to thank you for this great addon! Having said that, I'm having some trouble configuring it.

This only concerns anchoring and offsets. I placed my buffs above the unitframes and anchored the debuffs to the buffs. If there are buffs and debuffs present, everything is aligned the way I want it to be.

The problem is that when there are no buffs present to anchor the debuffs to, they (the debuffs) position themselves several pixels lower than where the buffs should be, and overlap the unitframes. I've been looking through the aura module , but for the life of me I can't find what to edit to keep them from overlapping, and it's driving me insane.

I've uploaded two screenshots to show what I mean.

Later Edit: I'm an idiot. I did a search for "SetPoint" in the aura module, and found line 564.

Is it possible to have frames wider than 300 units by editing the LUA somewhere? This is the only thing stopping me from using SUF at the moment.

Would it be possible to make an option to show the raid frame even when not in a raid, soloing? So that there would only be the players bar, as if a 5 man party would set to be shown as a raid, but without the rest of the party.

Would it also be possible to show the party frame as it is in the picture but with also the same party as a raid frame too (like there is in the picture with suf and grid)?

Still about the gridstatusrole-type function; is there no chance that you would even look into it? Donations would go to the cause. Or if that is impossible, would it be possible to add an option to allow the player to manually select those roles to individual players by some drop down menu thing ("select role - tank" and that players bar would change to the color that is defined for a tank)?

PingHansen: You can't change width dynamically like that in any sane way. Ultimately what you are trying to do is outside the scope of SUF, and doing that would be relatively complex. It's not really something I can layout without looking through the secure code a lot.

joonasv: Not something I plan on doing, inspection based features are something I avoid due to how annoying they are to implement.

Lightbulb Suggestion for raid frames

How about an option to fit the raid frames inside an area, with an optional max unit width?

What I envision, is what could very well be called dynamic frame width, where the width of the frames depend on the number of columns necessary.
I.e. if the raid is small, 6-10 players, two relatively wide columns are shown within the defined area, while for 11-15 players, three columns would be shown in the same space, for 16-20 four and for 21-25 five.
Above 25, perhaps the number of rows could increase (e.g. six rows, five columns for 26-30), possibly with an option to switch to showing groups horizontally.

Alternatively, if you don't want to implement that feature, could you come up with some pointers that would enable us to cook up a module for SUF that implemented this behavior by dynamically modifying the internal values for column width and such and forcing a redraw?

Suggestion: Role color

Some users would be extremely happy if there was an option to set health bar color to update according to the units role the same way Gridstatusrole plugin for Grid does. This is done through the addon inspecting the unit when in range (it also changes the color when switching to a different spec). Especially for healers, like me, it is useful to see for example all tanks red, melee as yellow and healers green. This allows faster decision making with one glance.

Currently, there is an option to set health bar color according to class, health percent or own choosing. If the suggested functionality was included in SUF, one would simply select "role". Drool...
