SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

How the hell do i change the position of 1 frame only?

I tried to configure/move player frame, But target, targets target and focus keep tagging along, Can't find where to un-hook them from eachother...

Any help?

Sparkly: I'll look into it and see what it is Blizzard added to enable that.

You can already set the combo points bar to not auto hide, it might be an advanced option. There is no update interval, it updates as soon as Blizzard reports a change, if Blizzard doesn't report a change, it won't update. I'm guessing you expect it to be using QuickHealth/InstantHealth, which it does not (and will not).

Vehicle indicator is not available in any Unit configuration it seems, not that it is overly useful, but nice to have in some raids or BG’s to see who is actually driving in things. (Looks like a screw/bolt in the Blizzard UI)

Nice job on the UI config btw, easy to find and adjust things

I get that the default ones are greyed out, but I was talking about the ones I add myself on Empty bar, which comes with default “Text” and is aligned left, but if I add another Text name “Name” with Text parent “Empty bar” that one is also greyed out, meaning I can’t delete the ones I add myself, since those are greyed out also.

Other thing I noticed when activating Combo Points as a Bar is that it keeps adjusting the frame depending on if you have combo points or not, so if you don’t have combo points the frame is like you had set it up, but when Combo Points start to stack, the rest of the bars get squeezed to make room for the Combo Points bar in the total height you had, so it would probably be a good idea to make that bar work similar to the Cast Bar, where the space wanted is set aside even if it is empty, thus preventing the frame from flickering up and down with the bars every time you use and add combo points.

On thing I am unsure about is the update interval of the Health bar, even with Enable quick health being checked, since I often see myself dying from thinking I have more hp left than I apparently have when it comes to doing PvP, where I can look at my health bar and see 10k health left, then suddenly finding myself dead on the ground from a 3k hit, since the previous damage hadn’t been subtracted yet or whatever it is that happens. You can easily get 3-4 entries of damage from the same attacker in the combatlog in 0.005s, so what is the update interval set to?

I unzipped it before starting the game actually, so I didn't really have to "re"start it
I'll try to unzipp it with a different software... maybe that'll do it.

nenemy: You didn't reload after updating I'd imagine. The only reason you would get that error is you either didn't restart the game, or you messed up unzipping it.

I can't duplicate it again now either, after reinstalling 3.2.8.1. So don't worry about it

I know you said it's under raid-->raid, but I swear I cannot find an option to hide raid frames when in a raid group of less than 6. I totally see "hide in 6 man raid" under party->party.

So to succinctly state, is there an option to hide the raid frames when in a 1-group raid? And if so, where is it?

Just got a little problem today.

When I connect on my character, Suf does not appear on screen and the command /suf calls for nothing except a blizz message "this command is invalid"

On connecting I get an lua message:

Under General -> Text Management you can add new Text to a Text parent, but the Delete button is greyed out, so you can’t delete them again. Having an Alignment option for the Text you add would be nice, since new texts you add seem to end up in the centre, but being able to do Left and Right as for Health/Power is preferable.

Would be nice if you could add another Text parent – Empty bar 2.

In the Text/Tags -> Classifications section it would be nice with an option that shows the actual overall group the npc belongs to, since the Class (Smart) returns Wasp, Rhino, Gorilla, Serpent etc. when you really want Beast, like you get in the tooltip if you mouseover the same target.

Edit:
Would also be nice if there was an option under Unit configuration –> Raid -> Raid, Separate raid frames cheked, for Column growth Down and a Groups per column slider, so you could get a setup that gives

G4 - G1
G5 - G2
-----G3

As opposed to

G2 – G1
G4 – G3
-----G5

shUI: What do you mean added? Unless you specifically enabled it in Zone configuration, cast bars are disabled by default. Which means you likely enabled it in /suf -> Zone configuration -> Arenas- > Global -> Cast bar/Combat text

kordgreg: Enable advanced settings, then go to /suf -> Unit configuration -> Party -> Party and you'll be able to set sort order.

Still loving the addon bud, just curious...is there a way to get rid of the automatic additions of castbars and combat text displays in Arenas? I got into a arena and it added all that stuff...
