SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

RadGH: Ordering is just whatever Blizzard returns, which should mostly be whatever you casted first. It's an interesting idea, but it's not something I want to implement right now.

After messing with this for a week now, ive become quite tired of it.
I made the raid frames work, but party frames are still getting lost just as i save my settings and locks the bars.

Lately i havent been able to even use it because it causes all my actionbars and everything else from standard blizzard UI to become invisible.

So shadowed unit frames is the absolute best UF addon available today, except Perl for those who are scared of opening an options menu. I've tried pretty much every unit frame but SUF is the only one that has everything you need available, AND customizable.

I've seen a UI that had similar frames as SUF, it might have been... it was an arcane mages UI. It had important buffs like missile barrage and arcane power set to twice the size of normal buffs.

If anyone knows an addon that can do that effect, please let me know...

I didn't think much of it at the time, but while raiding ICC today I had some really bad luck getting Missile Barrage to proc, I normally assume I have it after 4 casts but needed to start watching for it. It would appear randomly in my 3-colums of buffs (Not sure how SUF sorts buffs), which was annoying to watch for.

While true, I could use Power Auras or a buff tracker... I would rather set it up myself - and for all of my characters. It's a pain in the ass to set up most addons when you have 10 different characters. And I would use this for all of my tanking cooldowns on my warrior, my procs for my mage, my hots for my druid etc. Not the completely important things which you could use aura indicators, but the things you have often and multiple at the same time.


In my mind I would use an options menu like the Aura Indicators.

You would make a category, named for example "Important Procs". As an arcane mage I would add Missile Barrage, Arcane Power, Icy Veins, Presence of Mind and Mirror Image. Then you could set the scale of the icon (As a percentage or exact pixels). There should also be a sorting method, or you could just sort by size. I would suggest a checkbox to filter by "Cast by Me" or whatever that would be called.

I made a poorly photoshop'd picture of what it would look like. This is using one of the images in the addon preview from the main page. The buffs chosen are just random for the example.



Rejuvination and Regrowth would be in one category, Bloodlust in another, and the rest of the buffs wouldn't be in one so it would use the default settings.

I was having the same issue as wratted, actually still am. I even downloaded this alpha version.

I like this addon I came to it from pb4. pb4 seemed to be using a ton of mem as of late. So per a recomendation I installed this. So far I like it just want my party bar back :P. I normally play a pally healer and use vuhdo so I can see party there but on my dps toons I need to see party for various reasons.

odyzzle: Enlarged self when set above 130% has to do some calculations to figure out positioning, it shouldn't be causing
issues, but it's the only thing I can think of besides OmniCC that would cause issues.

If you could try one last thing for me, which is try disabling OmniCC. What is the other UF you are going to switch to that doesn't have the issue, PB4? If PB4 doesn't have an issue, it might be a problem in OmniCC which I can get fixed.

Alright Shadowed, I tried tweaking a few things. First I turned down my maximum target auras from 40buffs and 40debuffs to 20 of each. This may have had a very small effect, but it was not noticeable.

Then I tried turning on "timers for self-auras only" and the problem seems to have gone away completely. So I guess the fps spike was caused by the UI having to quickly load and display all of the different timers of the auras.

Unfortunately, not being able to see the duration of my teammates' fears or my opponents' divine shields is not an option for me, because it would negatively impact my play in arena. And because OmniCC can not be configured to show the time remaining on buffs without a "clock swirl," it appears that I will once again have to part ways with your fantastic addon.

Thanks for trying to help out but it seems the problem is just a result of my old computer. I'll still be checking back here occasionally to see if you've come up with any solutions, although that seems unlikely.

PS. I do play with "Enlarge your auras" turned on but I doubt this has anything to do with my problem because I have experienced it after switching to a target that I don't have any self-cast auras on.

Is there a way that the combo point tag can be forced to update on target switch? (I like having my CP listed on the right hand side of the player frame, and it sticks with old CP numbers)

You would need to make your own tag for that by enabling advanced settings. The tag would look like the below, which will only give you red text for missing HP too.

Everything looks great so far, I just have one more question

Is there a way to set the TargetHP to show something like "[( )abscurhp]|cffff2020[( )missinghp]|r" when I target a friendly unit, and "[dechp]" when I target a hostile?
