Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.7
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Full Changelog Previous Releases
  • Update TOC
  • Use high-quality class icon atlas
  • Update STAGGER_STATES global for 10.2
10.2 added a new table-type global `STAGGER_STATES` to replace the old decimal variables like `STAGGER_RED_TRANSITION`. These are now undefined (causing lua errors + stagger bar color doesn't work).
This commit updates SUF to get stagger thresholds in the [same way official UI code does](https://github.com/Gethe/wow-ui-source/blob/d4aa41ee5366c48fa8a04b9263afec45415c34d2/Interface/FrameXML/MonkStaggerBar.lua#L35).
  • Remove CheckInteractDistance from range checker, as its protected now
  • Fix Ready Check indicator display

Tooltip

Okay, sorry if this has been asked before, but I don't know of a way to search for a term in more than one page of comments... and you have quite a few here!

When I hover over a party member's frame, I get a tooltip that says Party #1 or Target or whatever. Is there a way to make that go away?

Probably a simple solution... or it could even be a completely different addon, I suppose. Well, thanks for the help in any case!

Edit: I guess it was showing them just because I had a config window open or something. Doesn't seem to be the case now. Sorry.

One other question about bar colors... what if I'd like the health bar to be solid grey, then as it goes down, reveal the color-coded health bar underneath? Sounds weird but it seems like I'm seeing a lot of that in UI's and wondered what setting I should be looking for.

Thanks for the addon! Good stuff

Is there any way to colour text in one of the bars based on it's value?
I'm relatively new to messing around with addons, and what I want specifically is to be able to colour Missing Power red if it's greater than 12500, so I can tell at a glance whether or not to use my Mana Gem.

I might also like to colour the percentage red below 35% for Evocate.

There's one feature that currently appears to be absent that I'd like to see: the ability to hide a shaman's totem bar when it's empty, as per cast bars and/or paladin holy power. (Please let me know if I'm just looking in the wrong place for it.)

HoT counter and Sheild border

Hello there

I have a suggestion (or 2) to add to this addon, if thats ok?
I used to use X-Perl, but this one is so much better, more streamlined but also with more customization.

There are 2 features missing which only really apply to healers -
1 - HoT counter: It shows a little number in the health frame counting how many hots are on that character, and if your own hot is on it the number shows as green, if not it shows as red. This only shows in party or raid frames. It counts all HoTs cast on that character from any healer, not just your own.
2- Shield Border: If a character has your shiled on them, they get a pink border around there frame. I noticed there is already a section for border highlighting, is it possible to add an option there for 'Shields'? I would try and do it myself if I had even an incling of how to write mods

Both these are very handy for healers so we dont waste mana re-applying HoTs or shield when the previouse one's you cast have not yet expired.

I tried the Auras Indicator module, but it clutters up the frames with little square boxes and does not exactly work as well.
are these something you could add?

Is there a way to enlarge or highlight target's dispellable buffs? Highlight as in make having dispellable buffs border glow or something. Because at the moment it's really hard to distinguish dispellable buffs from undispellable buffs on a target.

Ths for the great job Shadowed! Sorry for my bad Eng, but this question is very important for me. I have big trouble with interrupt spells.
We have 3 colors for cast bar:
1) Casting - this kind of cast i always can interrupt.
2) Uninterruptible cast - ofcourse this kind i Can't interrupt.
3) Channelling - This kind of cast can be interrupt and uninterrupt. And i can't distinguish this cast. This is very problematic, because i can fail for example Kick in Uninterrupt cast.

Do i have opportunity to delete *Channelling* color? I want to have only 2 colors: for interrupt cast and for uninterrupt cast.

Thank you.

Buff/Debuff Anchoring as well as number of buffs.

I want debuffs to be below buffs and have it set appropriately but depending on what my target is (another player, a non elite, boss) the debuffs are not where I want them.

On a non elite mob my buffs seem to be treated as my debuffs and are smaller(I have buffs set larger than debuffs) so this makes things pretty annoying.

On a boss I have the number of buffs showing to be set at 6 per row with 3 rows yet on all bosses it's 10 or so per row and no change to the setting alters this.

So basically, why are debuffs sometimes switched to being treated as if they were buffs depending on the mob and why can't I alter the number of buffs per row on a boss.

Player frame "floats"

Love the addon, how clean and simple it is to configure. My issue is with the player frame at the moment.

I have it set to be anchored to my Target of Target frame's center point, offset to the left by 150 pixels. But everytime I log out, it resets to the center of the screen. I have to go into the SUF config menu, select the player frame and re-enter the offset and then it's fine until I log again.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Problem with Worgen 3D Model

First of all, thanks for the addon. Love how clean it looks.

The problem I'm encountering is with the 3D model of the Worgen. Instead of a close-up of the Worgen's face in 3D as all the other races display, SuF is displaying a teeny-tiny, full-body 3D model of the Worgen. It looks like the paper-doll model on the Character Info screen, only shrunken down to postage-stamp size. Frankly, it looks ridiculous.

I can work around it by changing the model of my player frame portrait to 2D, although it doesn't look as good. However, anytime I party with a Worgen I also encounter this problem. I find it aesthetically displeasing and distracting.

I don't want to change all portraits to 2D since the moving 3D close-ups are one of the features I like about your addon. Is there something I can edit in the config files that might correct this bug, or can you add it to your list of fixes in the next version?

Thanks!

Is there any way to add "raid target" as an option?

You have party target but no raid target. In raids I like to make sure that everyone is attacking the the correct target, and not having raid targets means i have to use another addon that adds who is targeting mob to tooltip - just not as fast to use.

Aura filter (french client)

Hello i've got some issues with aura filter on french client.
Some of my aura inside my white list doesn't show on frames:

Mot de pouvoir : Bouclier
Mot de pouvoir : Robustesse

Edit:
Same issue with my macro with those spells, so this issue is not related to your addon.
(it works when i copy/paste "Mot de pouvoir : Bouclier" from the spellbook)
