Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.8
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Slash commands: /shadoweduf (/suf)

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Manually anchor the party frames to the top left in /suf -> Units -> Party -> Frames then reposition them, should fix it.

It's on the list of things to do, I just forgot to do it. I'll see if I can get it added for the next push.

Any plans to add a option for showing buffs/debuffs when the unitframes are unlocked? it's kinda frustrated not to be able to check the buffs available and if it overlaps something until you have a party/raid where you have a lot of buffs available.

Dexter74: The classification issue is fixed next push, the game can consider things like pets targeting you as aggro if I remember right. Are you sure you had no pets that were targeted or sent on you?

ekkekko: Not in the core by default, no.

Level (colored) Class(Smart) & Classifikation

Putridus der Uralte (Putridus the Ancient) = rar elite, does not appear

currently it is so

no Aggro = health bar class coloring
"Aggro" = health bar red (even if randomly targeted enemy a member)

and is not updated sometimes, all adversaries are again fixed on me, but bar remains red

Do you ever plan to add a deficit option ? (Bars fill instead of deplete as damage is taken/loss of mana etc)

Great addon by the way ! Very easy to configure

I actually removed the debug code as I redid how the children were handled, I'll add it back in tomorrow or later if I get delayed on other things.

Sorry to hear about the raid frames.

Latest party pet issues using Github build e8839762101fd6e32bc8cc640cbb4a50d696e3a8:

Joined a 5-man party heading into Heroic Halls of Stone. A Warlock was in the party (the only class in the party with a pet). We all entered the instance, the Warlock pulled his Imp out. The Imp did not show up in the party pet frames at all.

So typed in your recommended debug command:
Code:
/script ShadowUF:Debug()
Nothing happened...but an error was thrown up:

Code:
["message"] = "<string>:\"ShadowUF:Debug()\":1: attempt to call method 'Debug' (a nil value)\n<in C code>: in function `RunScript'\nInterface\\FrameXML\\ChatFrame.lua:1879: in function `?':\nInterface\\FrameXML\\ChatFrame.lua:3505: in function `ChatEdit_ParseText':\nInterface\\FrameXML\\ChatFrame.lua:3176: in function `ChatEdit_SendText':\nInterface\\FrameXML\\ChatFrame.lua:3200: in function `ChatEdit_OnEnterPressed':\n<string>:\"*:OnEnterPressed\":1: in function <[string \"*:OnEnterPressed\"]:1>\n\n  ---",
            ["type"] = "error",
             ["session"] = 1558,
            ["counter"] = 3,
Error repeated each time tried to enter the command.

After that, went through a few fights, let the Imp die and come back, no change. So asked the Warlock to "unphase" the Imp so it would not be "hidden" (phased is its normal behavior out of combat). Still no change.

Second boss, had the warlock pull out instead his Succubus pet. Sure enough, the party pet frame for it suddenly appeared.

The warlock got rid of the Succubus after the boss kill and brought back the Imp. The party pet frame for it appeared and remained visible for the rest of the instance, whether phased or unphased.

Hello,

I'm not sure whether or not SBB or this is more suitable, but could you make it so when someone gets a selected debuff (like the Paladin bubble) is gained on the target, a bar comes up showing you the duration of the buff? It's kinda annoying when a paladin bubbles and I can't tell when it ends.

From looking into it more, I'm not going to be adding separate groups for raid frames. As far as I can tell there is no clean way to do it that doesn't require a lot of hackery or a lot more configuration and general code changing work.

That's because you didn't restart your game before loading the new one in I'd imagine. If you did, send me your SV from WTF/Account/<name>/SavedVariables/ShadowedUnitFrames.lua

Just tried the latest SUF git master, and they're... pretty broken for me. I get no unit frames whatsoever, but the SUF options window works, and there are no error messages.

Tried making a new profile, and tinkering with most options but no go. Went back to my old checkout from a week ago and they work again.

Reminder that you can beta test the next SUF through http://github.com/Shadowed/ShadowedU...es/tree/master

Keep in mind that this is beta, while it should work fine it's possible it will break in a creative way, granted if nobody helps test it it'll break in a creative way later on regardless. Here's a rough list of what's changed between the live versions and the beta:

- New units: Main assist, Main assist target, Main tank, Main tank target
- LibHealComm-4.0, with support for HoTs as well as Beacon of Light and Penance heals
- Support for tags that show how much health is incoming through LibHealComm-4.0
- Party pet/targets should work fine and not bug out anymore
- Movers improved to not be as buggy when dragging
- Vehicle bug fixes
- Disable vehicle swap option for party
- And of course, general bug fixes like cast bars not auto hiding and such.

If you are using the beta version, please indicate so when posting.
