Leatrix Latency Fix  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.03
by: Leatrix [More]

Introduction

Leatrix Latency Fix will reduce your online gaming latency significantly by increasing the frequency of TCP acknowledgements sent to the game server. For the technically minded, this is a program which will modify TCPAckFrequency.

You will see reduced latency in many online games including World of Warcraft, WildStar, Heroes of the Storm, Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Rift and more.

Note that Leatrix Latency Fix performs a different modification to the 'Optimise Network for Speed' setting in World of Warcraft. They are not the same thing and can be used together (more information on this in the FAQ).

System Requirements

  • Windows 7, 8, 10, Vista (SP1+) or XP (SP3).
  • Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows are supported.
Macintosh users should read the guide here.

Installation Instructions

You can watch a short installation video here.

Simply download the zip file, extract it and then run Leatrix_Latency_Fix_3.x.exe. When the program launches, click the Install button. You will see the status change from 'Not Installed' to 'Installed'. You need to restart your computer (or disable/enable your network card) for the changes to take effect. After that, you can login to your online games with reduced latency.

Your Windows account needs to have Administrator rights to run Leatrix Latency Fix. If you are using Windows Vista or higher and your account doesn't have Administrator rights, you will be prompted for the credentials of an account that does have them.

To uninstall Leatrix Latency Fix, click the remove button and restart your computer.

For reference, the status line in the program will show 3 possible tags. 'Installed' indicates that all network interfaces have been modified for reduced latency. 'Not Installed' indicates that no network interfaces are modified for reduced latency. 'Partially Installed' indicates that some network interfaces have been modified for reduced latency (you will see this status tag if you add a new network card or USB modem after the installation of Leatrix Latency Fix).

More Information

There is a FAQ covering pretty much everything here and there is a short installation video tutorial here.

Thumbs up Very Satisified

This lil fix is just what the doctor ordered. Normally my latency would sit at 300-330ms. After running your VBS script, latency dropped to 130-140ms, creating a 64% increase in performance from the network.

Thank you very much for this as it was needed. Better response times from clicks, smoother mob movement, and even less DC's.

Cheers mate, and thank you again!

A Little help.

Had a small problem with it to begin with, ping went up! tinkered around with my connection a little more (other programs) pleased to say ping is now low and stable.

380ms -> around 320/340 ms. I live in Australia so thats pretty good. Thanks for the script

Very nice. My ping went from 70-150 to 11-17 on WoW.

OS: Windows 7 Pro RTM x64
(from the MSDN Academic Alliance)
ISP: Verizon FiOS 25/15

Code:
           Before After Difference
Average 110 14 96
Max 150 17 133
Min 70 11 59

My results after testing this in Aion.

I used the command /ping a number of times in a area with few people zoomed-in looking at the floor (low CPU/bus usage).
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
NIC: nVidia nForce GBit Ethernet
ISP: BBB ADSL 24/1

Code:
           Before After Difference
Average 184.6 88.2 96.4
Max 272 125 147
Min 109 59 50
So my average ping went from 185ms to 88ms.

Leatrix, I <3 U

Seriously, I tried manually fixing my ping several times to no avail (with various online fixes). Your fix worked like a charm!

I live in AZ and my wow server is physically located in Boston, MA.

I went from a 250-310ms ping to a 125-135ms ping with your fix. I'm operating on a Vista 64 bit SP 2 machine.

Unbelievably, you've fixed my ping and I appreciate all of your efforts...donation inc!

Edit: Hmm, seems to be no way to donate to you for your work? Or am I missing something?
