SpellFlash   Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
This addon is able to make suggestions of what spell you may want to cast next by flashing on top of the spell buttons.

This addon has functionality added for Warriors, Hunters, Warlocks, Pets and Argent Tournament mounts so far.

Support has been added for the addons: Bartender, Dominos, Extra Bars, nUI and OpenRDX.

Please let me know what you think! I would appreciate any feedback I can get. I have not been able to extensively test this addon out other than with a trial account, because I have ran out of game time and can not afford to buy any more at the moment.

To open the SpellFlash options window, you may use the following slash commands:
/spellflash
/sflash
/sf


I have been trying to use these colors for labeling what kinds of spells are being flashed:
White: Default
Yellow: Limited Time or No Global Cooldown
Purple: AOE or Positional Damage
Blue: AOE Debuff
Orange: Finishing Move
Aqua: Spell Interrupt, Reflect or Dispel
Green: Self Buff or Turn Autocast On
Red: Emergency Mitigation Cooldowns or Turn Autocast Off
Pink: Optional


Will flash a macro if the macro itself is named/labeled with the desired spell name with the upper case letter F attached to the end of the macro name/label.
Example: Heroic StrikeF
Example: Commanding ShouF
The spell name must be in the language of the used game client with the capital letter F at the end of it.
If the macro name/label is renamed,
then you will need to move the macro off of or onto one of the action bars for the change to be detected.
This will not be able to flash more then one spell for each macro since a macro may only have one macro name/label.


If you have even five or ten dollars to spare it would mean an awful lot to me and my family.

A few tiny questions for ya.

Will you be working towards adding support for Death Knights? Would it be possible to have an option to turn off spellflash for the pet bar entirely?

It isn't that it is the best. As I have said, I have made many of the spells not indicate at all unless you use them at least once on the target. Haunt just so happens to be one of the spells that does not require using it first before it is indicated, as well as Chaos Bolt. Some of the spells require you to use them first before they will flash, and some of them are always going to want to be used so I did not require this of them.

Stupid is as stupid does.........i guess if mobs die before your dot timers end it wont flash thoses other spells on thoses timers ... went to orgimar and hit the dummys and the other spells flashed when the dot timers went down...However i am amif as to why your mod does pick haunt as an opening spell to cast on mobs....when max dps says to use unstable aflixtion., coa, then corruption then haunt... any ideas??...because no matter if its the target dummy or a real mob haunt is the spell it wants me to open with..even though the others have a greater amount of dot..?

ok deleted the mod from addons went to the wtf file and deleted any referance to spellflash ..loaded 1.60 ..Im not sure if this makes a differance but im using talented as my talent mod and Necrosis warlock ad-on Dominos are my bars and my spells rotations are in the Dominos bars not necrosis

Not sure, it is working fine with the latest version for my warlock as well as for others I have talked to. You just got to use the spell (such as a curse) once on the target when you begin attacking it. Then when the debuff fades it will flash the spell. Make sure you have the newest version installed.

Many of the Warlock spells require you to use them first before they will be flashed.

Start off by using whatever rotation that you would normally start off with and the addon will detect what spells you used and then begin indicating the spells that had been used. I knew this would get confusing for some since this is the first time I have used this method of indication. I decided to start off this way to reduce the complication of adding the spells to the algorithm. I may begin to fine tune some of them to only indicate when they would be the best spell to use. But for now this allows me to add the spells without taking so many variables into consideration, and allows the user to decide what to use, and also allows easy tracking of those spells.

hello

not to worry, its works so well with my fury warrior, i'm very happy.
I think you should promote it as a warrior specific addon... it will get more of a following that way.

fyi I find it great to use with the flash intesity setting turned down a little.... lets my common sense prevail rather than "must ...push ...pretty flashing button".......oh, and the 80% rage rule b4 heroic strike lights (fury) could be a little lower, but I guess anyone who wants to tweak can adjust it themselves in the code

The next thing I want to add is support for Warlocks. I am not sure when I will begin work on it though, but it is the next thing on my to do list for this addon.

nice addon, seems to work really well with my lev 80 warrior, the abilities that it suggested were reasonable (heroic strike, pummel execute, whirlwind), and it definitely works well as a buff reminder (commanding shout)

I tried it with my warlock and I can see that warlocks arnt implemented yet (apart from the odd pet attack, pet follow flash
