Tidy Threat  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.8
by: danltiger [More]

Tidy Threat is a simple threat monitor which is simple enough for a novice to understand, yet powerful enough for a Tank.

Simple explanation:
While in combat, the status bar grows upward indicating how "hot" the enemy thinks you are. Causing damage or casting heals will raise that level.

If you reach the mark on the thermometer, the enemy will turn and start hitting YOU. As you continue to attack, the bar can continue to rise into the RED area, indicating the amount of threat that you would need to lose in order to shed the attention of the bad guy.

If you're DPSing: Don't go into the RED!
If you're tanking: Stay in the RED!

More Complex Explanation:
The status bar shows your threat compared to the next-highest threat for the rest of your group. If you are the top threat holder, it will also show how much your threat exceeds the next highest. In other words, if you are tanking and the bar extends above the line, into the red, you've got solid aggro.

No mode changes are required for Tank vs DPS usage; The interface is universal. For additional data, players can enable the Detail Window, which will display real threat numbers.

Type '/ttt' into the chat window to bring up the configuration panel, or right-click the Tidy Threat frame.

I'm not going to bug you by popping up an ad whenever you hit "Download". If you enjoy this addon and want to send a monetary "Thank You", please visit our Pledgie page by clicking on the button, above.

Doooooode
I'm absolutely loving the changes that you made with this!
The options make it far easier to live with (As if it couldn't get much easier! lawl 'specially over Omen!)

You fergot to mention that you have an "addons menu" set of options that allows the skinning and what have you
Wonder if there is coding to allow instant updates when you change an option, instead of hitting okay to see what ya did (Still applaud ya on this anyhow! )

Hey! Glad you like! :-)

There IS some coding that I could do in order to make the changes instant. One step at a time, y'know?

No complaints from me man
And I did note the new Audio Warning, another thing that saved my Draenai Tail from getting singed

Looks like some saved variable went awry. Try "/tidythreat reset", which will clear the preferences.

tidy threat stopped working

Similar problem. here.

I started using Tidy Threat a couple of weeks ago and I'm loving it. It's great to have a bar near my toon that I can use for a quick check on my threat as a tank.

I'm not sure when, but the bar stopped appearing in the last day or so. I tried forcing it on using /ttt show, but it just shows an empty bar. I tried /ttt reset and my options were reset but the bar still doesn't work.

I am not getting any error messages from any addons in this session.

I also use and love Tidy Plates and Tidy Plates: Threat Plates.

Is it possible that one of the recent updates to those addons has broken Tidy Threat?

Thanks for your addons!

Cheers,
Nelfish.

Re: tidy threat stopped working

I'm kinda baffled; I installed Threat Plates, too, just to be sure. I couldn't duplicate the issue. :-/

Give this a shot: Disable all other addons, leaving Tidy Threat enabled, log in and use '/ttt reset', then an immediate '/reload'. See if it works (I use my hunter baby alt to test).. if so, re-enable everything else.

If that fails... well, I guess it'll be time for me to break out the tea leaves.

Not sure how I missed your comment, esp with that nutty signature :-o

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what's going on. You could try /ttt reset, and then a UI reload (as I suggested to the poster, below). Do some addon isolation, too.

Do you use an auto-updater?

Thanks for installing both to check this.

The problem went away over the weekend. Presumably it needed me to relog or restart the game. I didn't think that relogging would be needed after /ttt reset, since it did seem to reset my options immediately. Sorry for bothering you.

Unfortunately, I also lost my Skada settings at about the same time. Weird! Is it possible that /ttt reset somehow confused Skada too? Don't worry too much about it.

On the positive side, I got my lovely tidy threat bar back in time for our Sunday night ICC25 raid!

Re: Re: Re: tidy threat stopped working

I'm pretty sure Tidy Threat wouldn't touch the Skada variables, but it seems like the problem was related.

I have not observed any errors on startup since, so I'm guessing that it's related to variable corruption; It seems to happen around patchtime, or when many other addons are updated.

The good news: There's a quick and easy way to fix that particular problem. "/ttt reset" followed by a "/reload". That'll return the variables to default.

If the issue persists, please file a bug report by clicking on the "Bug Report" button on the main Tidy Threat page, and give as much information as possible.
