I can customize the style whenever I want, but I am not sure exactly what to do in the code itself and where to add what in which function. Someone please point me in the right direction.
We don't do anything with the health values, so you'll have to add code to support that. You'll want to add a fontstring in the CreatePlate function, hook the OnValueChanged script for the healthbar and make that function update the fontstring.

If i set up height from 8 to 4 in lua... it starts at 4 but it resets to 8 after a while (like someone said below... when i turn around)

what i would really really like is to get nameplates just as they are on screenshots posted as an attachment to this addon...

can someone post exactly those?

Hi, I've been using this addon for a while and to be honest I can't live without it. The first few days of 4.0, when nameplates weren't working, made PvPing pretty annoying.

As others have stated, there are some bugs at the moment. For me the size of the plates have returned to normal (without changing anything), however, sometimes the plates don't stack anymore (if there are a lot of players in an area, they will be 10-20 yards to the left or right of the player, as if pushing each other). Also, sometimes they become huge for a few seconds, then go back to normal. I'm hoping these things will be ironed out soon, or a possible solution for a self-fix posted.

The real reason I'm posting is that I'd like to request a feature. Would it be possible to increase the range at which nameplates spawn/show? Possibly double the distance?

If that's somehow possible, I'd really appreciate you adding that.

Thanks,

M

sorry if this has been asked before, search not working in here... how do I go about making the name showing in the middle of the healthbar, instead of it being to the left as it is in default.

Open caelNameplates.lua and modify line 184;

Code:
	newNameRegion:SetPoint("BOTTOM", healthBar, "TOP", 0, 1)

Guys, nameplates that doesn't stack is blizzard issue - the "overlapping nameplates" option is missing from interface option menu.

So if you want nameplates to stack again (and not "swim" all around when you have lots of enemies near you), just type in game this string:

/console spreadnameplates 0

p.s. thanks StormCalai for telling how to make name centered - now everything is pretty much perfect and i'm happy to use this nameplates again

Hey Rav, ya I figured it had something to do with the options, but couldn't find it. Do I need to type that every time I log on a toon? Also, do you know if Blizz plans put the option back in?

And since I have you here, is there a console command for the spawn range? (I want to see them from further away, twice the distance would be fine.)

Thanks!

You'll need to use that command once for every character you login to. It will remember it for you.

Blizzard doesn't give us any control over the spawn range of nameplates. They temporarily gave an option to change it during the beta testing of Burning Crusade, but they took it out for release.

Blizzard fixed the nameplate sizing issue but this is still present in the addon. No matter what you do it doesn't stick.

Looks like I'm going to Tidyplates until the author fixes it, if he does?

I hope so, because this addon is the bomb!

I can't figure it out either to tell you the truth.

Could it be that bloattest command you had me execute awhile back? Do I need to reverse that cvar?

This is what I'm getting. If only it would stay like the thin bars I would be happy.

i have this issue too if i try to edit the height of the nameplates - they just don't want to stay that way (it can reset when you turn away or not work at all on some mobs).

(I executed the script thingie from the previous page too)
