Aptechka is a raid frames addon.

Addon is customized with lua config file
You can place your configuration changes into AptechkaUserConfig/userconfig.lua to avoid overwriting them when updating. Reference config - Aptechka/config.lua.
There's still some basic options available ingame from /apt console command. like positioning.

What is UserConfig?
It's a separate addon that contains your personal settings.
Values from UserConfig replace default settings. That way you can safely update core module without losing your changes.
Or you can have 2 UserConfig modules.
It is also possible to add new skins as plugins, and switch between them depending on character class.

Lua knowledge is required?
Probably not, copy-pasting and changing values should be enough for most things.
But editor with Lua syntax highlighting will help you (SublimeText, SciTE, Notepad++). If you want to make your own skin you better be familiar with wow widget api.

What is priority?
When two or more actions assigned to the same spot are active, the one with higher priority is displayed.
Weakened soul is a good example. You won't see WS until PWS is still active.

What is "heal trace"?
That's when you want to know who exactly was healed by your Circle of Healing, Chain Heal, etc in the form of blinking indicator.

How to add new zones and spells for debuff loader?
Instances are identified by map id (assuming they have their own map).
To find out current zone map id type: /dump GetCurrentMapAreaID()
Map IDs are tied to instance name and instance name is tied to function that is pushing boss spells into your current spell set. More info inside userconfig file

What's that combat filtering option for?
Disabled until better days.
In 4.2 all autorefreshing spells (SWP-MF, Corruption-Haunt, Lifebloom, Renew-Chakra, etc) stopped generating SPELL_AURA_REFRESH event for combat log. So basically this feature is ruined until Blizzard fix this.
useCombatLogFiltering provides a huge perfomance boost over default behavior, which would be to listen only to UNIT_AURA event.
UNIT_AURA doesn't tell what exactly changed and every time addon had to scan current buffs/debuffs,
In raid combat unit_aura sometimes fired up to 8 times per second for each member with all the stacking trinkets and procs.
useCombatLogFiltering option moves this process mainly to combat log, where we can see what spell was updated.
Only if it's in our spell set it will update buff data for this unit.
The drawback is that it only works in combat log range, but it's big enough, and there's a fallback on throttled unit_aura (every 5s) for out of range units.
On lich king there was an issue, and maybe it's still present, that necrotic plague removal event didn't appear in combat log
and that caused glitches with boss debuff indicator. But that's a rare blizzard side bug.
Dispel idicators still work from unit_aura, so you'll see plague regardless as disease if you can dispel it.

How to change skin layout from config?
So to customize frame elements, you'll have to create a custom skin, inherit default skin stuff and then add to/change it. Easy...

hi, the debuffs on bottom left... the "dicon1" and 2 and 3, I have them set as "pulse = true" but they are not pulsing to me, is it just me?

Hi, i've tested this in a raid today, It is nice layout for ressurection, but the timer tend to mess up and sometimes it spam error msg just thought you might want to hear some feedback about it, I think if i remove the timer code it will be good only to know that "RESS" is incoming, then a "PENDING" is really nice :P i dont know why exactly the timer is messing up, sometimes it keep going and going non-stop to the minus.

Great, I will add more to the list soon, then after adding them I will decide which buff/debuff needs to be where, depends on it's importance!

I have a few suggestions to this lovely addon, I know that you don't PvE nomore, but if you can add these suggestion on the "To-do" list and weather you add them in the future or not it's fine, I will keep using aptechka regardless I am so used to it since it first came out as "Injection" even if you add these changes next year is fine with me :P

1. a RES indicator, a green text below frame a little offset that says "RES" if someone is getting ressed, I know blizzard implemented this into the raidframes. (other raidframe addon that uses this for referance OuF_NeavRaid if you like to check it out)

2. a OFFLINE / AFK timer, also goes in same place below frame and offset a little that shows just a timer which starts obviously from 1 to 60 seconds once a person goes AFK or OFFLINE and after a min it goes to 1m, 2m, 3m...etc (other raidframe addon that uses this for referance OuF_NeavRaid if you like to check it out)

3. a leader tag image that goes for example for left of frame, also Ouf_NeavRaid uses it if you want to check it.

4. finally a readycheck new image, I know that you are using the top right indicator for this which is fine , but the other image that has 'green correct' and 'red x' and 'yellow question mark' in the middle of frame is also nice, also OuF_NeavRaid uses this if you want to see :P

I know I mentioned alot of ouf_neavraid, it is nice frame but just couldn't heal with it, I'm so used to aptechka.

anyway as I said , feel free not to add anything, just take them as suggestion for whatever you feel comfortable adding in the future.

You probably haven't added ToT area id. So they are just not loaded. There should be a message when you enter instance first time in current session.

Thanks for the replay , I understood most of the parts, but just to confirm my suspensious about this. I've added this code, while it's not yet complete, they are the spells of 3 bosses only, some with normal, some debuffs are for heroics only, however I went today and only to see and test them out, but nothing showed anywhere in my frames. What do you think is wrong?

if its because I didn't add the "assignto" then how come your other stuff that already in the code and don't have assignto and they already work? That what confuses me and made me post this, here's the code and nothing is showing.

1) Yes, you can add it in user config.

2) If it's from raid, then under tot. But if you don't want to bother with all dynamic loading stuff, just add them globally.

3) prototype is just a table with default set of settings that new spells inherit
So for example here,

New spell inherits defaults and overrides color and priority with it's own.

Where spell goes is determined by the "assingnto" property, which contains a list of elements.
assignto = { "icon", "spell3" } makes something appear on both icon and spell3 indicator

I made left-center indicator available again as "spell5". Get latest version from the same github link for that. After you can use self.bossdebuff = self.spell5 in your skin override function, like i described before. OR change default BossDebuffPrototype to point directly to spell5 and not bossdebuff alias

Hi D,

I am in the process to add ToT stuff but I have couple of questions before I begin.

1) First if I add them to loadable config, and you make an update , everything will be gone , so can I add these things to my aptechka user config? if not i will do them in loadables and paste my things here so that you can add them to the newest update, that would be nice for everybody I guess.

2) there are few Raid boss giving buffs also that are helpful to see , I want to add these as an icon to buffs, just like when you see shield wall. should I add them under ToT, or just underneath shield wall and will that load in PvE and not just PvP?

3) if you changed the AptechkaUserConfig.BossDebuffPrototype indicator position to bottom right, me personally i use that spot for rejuvenation , so how can I go about changing it back to right center just like last expansion? and another question about the same indicator. Some raid debuffs are nice to see as indicator so I will use AptechkaUserConfig.BossDebuffPrototype as prototype, but some of them are better to see as an icon, so how do I disguitesh between the two, tell me if i'm right.

If I want the debuff to be as indicator, i put

prototype = AptechkaUserConfig.BossDebuffPrototype

but if i want it to be as center icon

prototype = icon

is this correct?

Well, they aren't filled because i don't raid anything myself... and it's hard to judge what's actually important without seeing it on normal at least.
PvP stuff is still there (maybe not completely up to date), but is only loaded when you're in instanced pvp like bgs or arenas.

All you need is in loadables.lua file

Also left center indicator was replaced by bottom right corner iirc

hi. I remember when I used this addon in expansion level 80, while I still was raiding, the addon would show the most important debuffs in the middle of the grid as a picture, only the important ones for PvE & PvP , also it used to show a large red box to the center-right section of grid also for the boss encounter important debuffs to notice. but now it doesn't, I know that i can add their spellid manually, but I still new back to the game and don't know what are the important things to add.

also I want to know where in aptechka do I add the things that show in the middle of grid as a icon, & where to add the things to show in teh right center section as a red box?

Thank you for the information , everything worked.

I would also like to report something, perhaps you already know this, but if you createpets. Their health bars tends to bug alot and stay at some percentage and then even if pets at full hp, the aptechka will show them missing some health, and will remain that way until /reload ui

1) Remove this from config:

2) Triangles are just another indicator type. By default used for dispel types and boss debuffs.
Use self.dispel = self.spell4 in your skin override function or at the end of multiple similar statements near the end of frame.lua.

3) To remove absorbs: config.enableAbsorbBar = false
