Aptechka is a raid frames addon.

Addon is customized with lua config file
You can place your configuration changes into AptechkaUserConfig/userconfig.lua to avoid overwriting them when updating. Reference config - Aptechka/config.lua.
There's still some basic options available ingame from /apt console command. like positioning.

What is UserConfig?
It's a separate addon that contains your personal settings.
Values from UserConfig replace default settings. That way you can safely update core module without losing your changes.
Or you can have 2 UserConfig modules.
It is also possible to add new skins as plugins, and switch between them depending on character class.

Lua knowledge is required?
Probably not, copy-pasting and changing values should be enough for most things.
But editor with Lua syntax highlighting will help you (SublimeText, SciTE, Notepad++). If you want to make your own skin you better be familiar with wow widget api.

What is priority?
When two or more actions assigned to the same spot are active, the one with higher priority is displayed.
Weakened soul is a good example. You won't see WS until PWS is still active.

What is "heal trace"?
That's when you want to know who exactly was healed by your Circle of Healing, Chain Heal, etc in the form of blinking indicator.

How to add new zones and spells for debuff loader?
Instances are identified by map id (assuming they have their own map).
To find out current zone map id type: /dump GetCurrentMapAreaID()
Map IDs are tied to instance name and instance name is tied to function that is pushing boss spells into your current spell set. More info inside userconfig file

What's that combat filtering option for?
Disabled until better days.
In 4.2 all autorefreshing spells (SWP-MF, Corruption-Haunt, Lifebloom, Renew-Chakra, etc) stopped generating SPELL_AURA_REFRESH event for combat log. So basically this feature is ruined until Blizzard fix this.
useCombatLogFiltering provides a huge perfomance boost over default behavior, which would be to listen only to UNIT_AURA event.
UNIT_AURA doesn't tell what exactly changed and every time addon had to scan current buffs/debuffs,
In raid combat unit_aura sometimes fired up to 8 times per second for each member with all the stacking trinkets and procs.
useCombatLogFiltering option moves this process mainly to combat log, where we can see what spell was updated.
Only if it's in our spell set it will update buff data for this unit.
The drawback is that it only works in combat log range, but it's big enough, and there's a fallback on throttled unit_aura (every 5s) for out of range units.
On lich king there was an issue, and maybe it's still present, that necrotic plague removal event didn't appear in combat log
and that caused glitches with boss debuff indicator. But that's a rare blizzard side bug.
Dispel idicators still work from unit_aura, so you'll see plague regardless as disease if you can dispel it.

How to change skin layout from config?
So to customize frame elements, you'll have to create a custom skin, inherit default skin stuff and then add to/change it. Easy...

Lifebloom indicator works wrong in default config -- when i cast LB on another raid member the other LB indicator is removed. So it is tracked on one person -- the last one i cast LB.

Alright, now test it.
Err... i think i still need to disable manabar for nonmana classes.
Vertical names are almost unreadable, and health deficit text is kinda useless in cataclysm, because you can't top people with one spell anyway

Graphical skin is almost cool now, but i probably will still use grid skin myself

btw Berb, boss debuffs are working on live?
Also i included your text indicator.

And a little guide how skins work

1) Skin creates all sub frames and stuff. and assigns them to main frame fields.
Like self.health = <healthbar> frame.
That means it you can assign spell/=status/=dispeltype/=job to this frame in config
2) Such frame should have SetJob method, which receives highest priority job table (the one with color and all things). spell job table also got some runtime values like expirationTime, duration, texture...
And SetJob method actually desides how to display this job object.
3) There's also optional HideFunc method. Which is called when there's no jobs left for the frame. If it's not specified then :Hide() is called.

4) This works for main frame also. It's called "self". For example out of range status is using it
main frame also may have OnMouseEnterFunc and OnMouseLeaveFunc methods.

A few minor things re: UserConfig - Please let me know if I'm missing something that would fix this or if it simply isn't possible.

- Can you make it so that settings in UserConfig overwrite what's in config completely, rather than just adding to it for the class spells? I don't use all the indicators for all classes, and sometimes it'll show the default config values rather than only the spells in userconfig.

- Sort of along the lines of the first point: I love having the tank/survival CDs displayed but they are simply listed outside in the main config file, and I have to change/remove them since I have them in a different position in userconfig.

I haven't changed to the new version yet, since I'm still going through the syntax for the skins, so this all applies to the previous version.

I'm not quite sure where exactly is the problem.
userconfig can overwrite anything.

Default config fills AptechkaDefaultConfig table
For example, it creates AptechkaDefaultConfig.IndicatorAuras table that contains all spells that are being tracked. ("A" function)

Then userconfig starts as an empty table AptechkaUserConfig with inheritance to default config.
It means that when we try to acces (=READ!) table field in user config and it's empty we use the same field but from default config.

But then say we create new field for spells (which is what will happen the first time you call A function in userconfig) Now it contains:
AptechkaUserConfig.IndicatorAuras = {}

So IndicatorAuras field is no longer empty (not nil ) and we don't inherit default IndicatorAuras now. Thus we get empty spell set. And that means you'll need to recreate every spell for your class and add tanking cooldowns afterwards again.


If you're still not dead, note that inheritance only works at the first level.
If you'll try something like this when AptechkaUserConfig.IndicatorAuras is still nil
AptechkaUserConfig.IndicatorAuras["Renew"].assignto = { "spell3" }
then you're just editing spell in default config (and that is useful too)


Well, post specifically what you want to do, if you still got questions.

since I'm still going through the syntax for the skins

Let me see if I understand correctly. In 2.0RC1, I want to track a different set of spells for paladins vs. the default config. The default has BoK and BoM set here:

Whereas my userconfig only defines indicators for the bottomright and bottomleft and I want the topleft and topleft2 to be left blank. If I want to do that instead of inheriting BoK/BoM, I need to define:

AptechkaUserConfig.IndicatorAuras = {} in UserConfig before all If statements checking for class information? And then just re-create all the class spells/tank CDs?

And I forgot to mention this in my last message, but your default config contains a trace for the glyph of holy light, which is no longer in the game.

AptechkaUserConfig.IndicatorAuras = {} is being done automatically inside A function. Other than that, yeah, you got it right

btw you're talking about old version, not 2.0 RC.

Thanks a lot for this addon, by far the most lightweight of its kind.
In previous versions i was able to disable the power/mana bar. On
this version i had no luck and since my LUA knowledge is very limited,
could i get a tip on how to do it?

Yes, it's coming with next release. ( or get it from http://github.com/rgd87/Injector )
Also removed long raid buffs from config. Because they're cheap, raidwide, 60m long and someone's blood pact, fel intel or who knows what else now always tring to replace them

Well, i know this happens when you leave bg. and was going to track it down eventually (i honestly still have no idea what's causing it, closest guess is onupdate range check ). It happens under different circumstances for you?

Well, i know this happens when you leave bg. and was going to track it down eventually (i honestly still have no idea what's causing it, closest guess is onupdate range check ). It happens under different circumstances for you?
I've had this happening in ulduar, more specifically on flame leviathan, and I'm guessing it has something to do with the vehicles, and it happened about every 5 seconds or so, lagging my game to a crawl for a second every time it did it. If this gets sorted out I'll be a happy camper!

After a lot of WSG /afks i found out it was caused by "tanks functions" ... who would've thought.
