GnomishVendorShrinker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.0.1.15-Release
by: Tekkub [More]
GnomishVendorShrinker creates a simple, compact vendor frame, made to compliment GnomishAuctionShrinker. GVS brings an interface similar to Auctioneer's "CompactUI" to the vendor frame.

Features
  • Simple one-line-per-item interface
  • Scrolling list, none of that "paging" crap that makes navigation slow
  • Clicking an item simply buys it, instead of picking up the item
  • Alt-click buys a full stack (or as close to a full stack as is possible for limited-stock items)
  • Ctrl- and shift-click behave as default (dress-up and paste link, respectively)
  • Recipes you do not yet know are highlighted in blue
  • Items you cannot use are highlighted in red
  • Search box to help you find that item you're after on a vendor with hundreds of items
Un-features
  • No support for split-stack purchases, I'm not convinced it's needed.

Fairly well done, but the split-stack purchase feature is a must for cases such as exchanging 35 emblems of whatever for a lower tier of emblems.

Thank you Tekkub for creating this really nice addon! And you also did a very good job on your own site! I even saw a screenshot of GVS there! AFAIK first time ever of you making a screenie...

However I also see a reason for supporting split stacks: with addons like BuyEmAll you can also buy large amount of ingredients with a single click. But I suppose BuyEmAll will also not work without split stack support?

As High Five mentioned, there is definitely a case for split-stack purchases when trading emblems.

Awesome addon, I sort of agree with the below posters. Mainly though, can we get a nice looking buyback tab? =P Regardless, I love your addons Tek.

WoW. Just cost me 2k gold...

So, using this mod just cost me 2k gold. Not that big of a deal, but a problem, nonethless.

The AT factions vendors, each have a mount that costs 5 Champion Seals ... and 400g. However, GVS does not show that there is a monetary costs for the mount, solely the cost of 5 seals.

Admittedly, had i been paying attention, i would have noticed another mod, complaining that i had just spent 400g x 5. I didn't pay attention, however, until i had started learning the mount spells. After the 4th one, i noticed the gold cost, and resold the last mount.

Had to then replace the mod, going back to Improved Merchant.

It's pretty imperative, knowing the full cost of an item, prior to purchasing it, neh?

Regards.

Agreed.

I also tend to keep a stack of tradeskill items on me or in my bank. If I'm buy a vendor and low I'll top my stack up but, with limited space, I don't always want to buy a full stack and take up another slot.

Please rethink this one!

Reading the description, I immediately balked at the bottom line saying no split-stack support. I agree with the posters below. However for the situation you speak of, thebadmf, have you considered Tek's addon StealYourCarbon? I find it indispensble for exactly what you describe.

I changed it in the LUA file myself, but it might be handy to have an option that allows for right-click-buying as per the usual vendor window instead of the left-click. I've walked away too many times from vendors thinking I bought the item when right-clicking actually doesn't purchase the item anymore with this Add-on.

That's my only gripe though, the layout is fantastic. Thank you!

Good mod. My only complaint is that lines in there too thin, making price font looks extremely ugly...
Played around with it...
Code:
2c2
< local NUMROWS, ICONSIZE, GAP, SCROLLSTEP = 14, 17, 4, 5
---
> local NUMROWS, ICONSIZE, GAP, SCROLLSTEP = 14, 20, 1, 3
200,201c200,201
< local ItemName = row:CreateFontString(nil, nil, "GameFontNormalSmall")
< ItemName:SetPoint('LEFT', icon, "RIGHT", GAP, 0)
---
> local ItemName = row:CreateFontString(nil, nil, "GameFontNormal")
> ItemName:SetPoint('TOPLEFT', icon, "TOPRIGHT", 2, -2)
216,217c216,217
< local ItemPrice = row:CreateFontString(nil, nil, "NumberFontNormalSmall")
< ItemPrice:SetPoint('RIGHT', popout, "LEFT", -2, 0)
---
> local ItemPrice = row:CreateFontString(nil, nil, "NumberFontNormal")
> ItemPrice:SetPoint('BOTTOMRIGHT', popout, "BOTTOMLEFT", -2, 2)

I agree too. Default behavior should be what it is by default.

Also, small request. Per Alt+Click, but not full stack, but as many as it is need to refill existing stack to full one.

As the ‘ItemPrice’ looked really bad with NumberFontNormalSmall, I changed it to GameFontNormalSmall. In addition, the ‘popout’ button looked quite bad as well, I changed it to ‘UI-SpellbookIcon-NextPage-Up’. What do you think of this change: http://img.ipwn.se/ScreenShot_092909_212641.jpeg

Oh, and here's the diff: http://amnith.pastey.net/125879-k30d

Today, after some time logged in, in instances and such, i got to a JC vendor and all token prices was disappeared. Only first item was priced, one that cost only gold.
Relog fixed the issue, and no errors were found in bug catcher.... strange thing >.<
