Special thanks to Tuller for his work on LibItemSearch-1.0, for without this library, these search abilities would not have been possible
  • Typing a search without any modifiers will perform a "smart" search. For example, typing "armor" will find all items of type "armor" as well as any items containing the word "armor".
  • To find an item by name, simply type the items name. Typing "silk" will find all items that have "silk" in their name.
  • To find an item by type, subtype, or equip location, type t:<search>. "t:weapon" will find all weapons. "t:main" will find all main hand items.
  • To find an item by quality, type q:<quality>. "q:epic" will find all epic items. You can also use a quality number. "q:0" will find all grey items.
  • To find an item by name, type n:<name>. "n:muffins" will find all items with names containing "muffins".
  • To find items in an equipment set, type s:<equipmentSet>. "s:fire" will find all items in equipment sets you have with names that start with "fire".
  • Searches can be negated using the ! operator. "!q:epic" will find all items that are NOT epic.
  • A union of two searches can be performed using the | operator. Typing "q:epic|t:weapon" will find all items that are either epic OR weapons.
  • An intersection of two searches can be performed using the & operator. Typing "q:epic&t:weapon" will find all items that are epic AND weapons
  • Example: 'lvl:115 or level:115' would do a search for all items with an item level of 115.
  • The following search keywords are also supported:
    • boe - Bind on equip items.
    • quest - Items with "quest item" in their tooltips.
    • bop - Bind on pickup items.
    • boa - Bind on account items.
    • bou - Bind on use items
    • ilvl - Item Level
  • To search for items that are bind on account, type 'boa' or if you want bind on equip type 'boe'.
  • To search for items by keyword, type tt:<word>. "tt:companion" will find all items with the word "companion" in any part of the item description.
  • To search for items with exact name use 'name:' example: 'name:Hearthstone'.
  • You can also search by 'type' and 'slot'. example: 'slot:1' or 'slot:2' or 'type:head'. (For more slots refer to: http://www.wowpedia.org/ItemEquipLoc)

FAQ:

Why does my auction house items not properly sync?
Blizzard doesn't make it really easy to track Auction House items. It's rather difficult to track items as they can be sold, canceled, and won. Since it's an elaborate process it's best to check the Auction House regularly to update the data.

Why can I still search for items i've blacklisted?
The blacklisting feature only prevents the item from being displayed in the tooltips. It still gets stored in the database for consistency.

A blank line on top of the tooltip? You mean just before the money display?

I didn't want to step on your toes in case you were trying to avoid "support" for something way out in left field. But I love it too much not to share. It's nice when you have multiple accounts you can share data like in this addon and profiles for heavier things like elvUI or TukUI, stuff like that.

Just gonna chime in here

TL;DR
just make a symbolic link of your bank toon account folder and your main character folders like so

Open escalated cmd prompt and type
Code:
mklink /D "C:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<banktoonaccount>" "C:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<MainToonFolder>"
Make sure to copy the contents of the <banktoonaccount> folder into the <MainToonFolder> folder then delete the <banktoonaccount> account folder

It is possible as I do it. This can be done if you run windows Vista/7/8

This method shares all settings tho.

You have to make a symbolic link of your <Account1> and <Account1> folders.

First make a copy of your wtf in case you mess it up

Code:
mklink /D [LINK NAME] [TARGET]
First I would copy all my character named folders inside of my secondary account name folder into the main account named folder.

Then delete the secondary account named folder from WTF/Account

Then open up an ADMIN promoted CMD window by hitting the windows key then type CMD in the box .. you should see the CMD window program up top ..then right click it and run as administrator.

CD to your wow directory

so lets say my wow is installed on the z: drive in "z:\World of Warcraft" then I would type in the admin CMD window

Code:
z:
cd World (hit tab it will complete it for you)
cd wtf
cd account
Type "dir" to make sure you are in the right spot. You should only see one folder .. the account name of your main account..(because we deleted the other one)

Type
mklink /D "ACCOUNTNAMEOFYOURSECONDARYACCOUNT" "ACCOUNTNAMEMAINACCOUNT"
Use the quotes in these commands
if you get an error "file already exists" then you either didnt delete the secondary or you have the folder names reversed.

Use at your own risk

if it works you will see

symbolic link created for Z:\Todd Stuff\w\WTF\Account\2 <<===>> Z:\Todd Stuff\w\
WTF\Account\1

or something similar

LOVE this addon btw .. lets me see the crap I have on all my bank toons ...

Thanks

Yeah sorry, looks like it was another addon, is working fine now.

Only other question i have is about information between accounts that are on the same bnet login.
I have a secondary storage account, is there a way of sharing the bag/bank information between my main and that one?

Thanks again!
Sadly this is not possible. Information is stored via account basis. So being able to grab information from another account is not possible. Otherwise, I would have implemented that ages ago.

Basically, whenever addons save information they store it under YOURUSERNAME folder in the WTF folder of WOW. That folder has all the information for addons to use. Unfortunately, it's unique per battle.net account. I hope I clarified that for you

I see.

I'm pretty sure it was 7.0 that I had reverted to after on and off testing what could be the cause for the hiccups - BagSync was one of 4 or 5 add-ons that got an update not long before and it's the only one that related to bags and items (I think..), so I actually deleted the BagSync folder and then extracted the 7.0 archive I grabbed from WoWI.

Earlier today though, I realised when I let my curse client update a few add-ons recently, it seems that it re-updated BagSync along with them, but I haven't experienced anymore the same sort of hiccups (only the usual sporadic kind, which is the way it's been for me, sometimes, especially with the new AoE looting in place, even without any add-ons loaded. I blame Blizzard for that.)

So, not sure, but per your reply and the changelog, it seems you're right and it wasn't actually BagSync causing the hiccups. Maybe there was something entirely different wrong and it was more than one add-on having to deal with it (like corrupted Cache or something) that made all the little delays caused by some of the add-ons become so noticeable (and then got solved/overwritten/reset).

Thank you for helping/replying though

I'm not sure how as all I touched from 7.0 to 7.1 is the search window.

You can see the literal changes for yourself at:

https://github.com/Xruptor/BagSync/c...47065e14ae8c58

As you can see all I did was add a functionality to the search window to allow the new parameter types. If your not using the search window there is no reason this should be happening. There has to be something else in the works that is causing this. I will be glad to help you out track the issue and get this fixed, but from my perspective I have no clue why this would occur from 7.0 to 7.1. Especially, since like I said before only a minimalistic change was done to just the search window to support the new parameters.

Are you sure it's not before 7.0? I did make changes to the database and completely redesigned how tooltips are parsed and displayed.

P.S: On a side note, I'm using 7.1 and not getting this hiccup you are referring to. That doesn't mean though that it doesn't exist or your not getting it. I will do whatever I can to make sure your issue is fixed but I need a bit more information
