Highlights:
- FPS Performance Boost

(Meant for 5.3, but you can TRY it on 5.2. Not sure why you'd want to, but....)

I'm not going to bug you by popping up an ad whenever you hit "Download". If you enjoy this addon and want to send a monetary "Thank You", please visit our Pledgie page by clicking on the button, above.
Beta5
- Combo Points: "Anticipation" fix for non-english regions? someone needs to test this, cuz I'm in an english region.
- Core: Back to hooking the base plate.
- Healertrack: Strsplit fix (thought I fixed that several months ago.. hmmm...)

Beta 4
- no clue. 3/4 asleep while working on this.

Beta 3
- probably a bug fix.

6.10 Beta 2
---------------------------
- Update to 5.3 TOC
- Core: Parenting Tidy Plates Frame to UIParent & Reanchor back to base nameplate. Performance boost.
- Core: Started Refactoring Core (This will happen over the course of WoW 5.3)

Re: Manabar

Mana bars aren't an internal feature, but I'm not sure what other theme authors might have added.

Friendlies aren't shown with a color unless you're in a group with'em.

So I messed around with the options and I've managed to get the npc's green. All players however are Blue if I choose by Class. Also Show Level Text does nothing.

Yeah having an icon for guild members and friends that shows outside instances would be sweet.

This is turning out to be the best addon for wow

For NPC units, can these be colored the same as they are without the plates. I.e. green when they are normally green.

Looks like guild members still need the mouse over to highlight their guild name. Would be great if you could look up the name against the guild list.
I'll look into it. The guild name caching is likely to get pushed to 6.3, since I've found that I don't really like it at the moment; It's just way too much clutter for my taste. 6.2 will release with the text plates, and the NPC role caching, though.

Some more control on font and font sizes would be nice. Right now I've edited it to add Caith font and modify the font size by 1 lower for myself.

Also it could be nice to have the guild name in a gray color instead of white (only slightly dimmer) and maybe have it surrounded with <> or [] or nothing. As an option would be great.

With NPC roles, could this be displayed where the guild names are displayed when you mouse over an NPC?

The NPC roles and the guild names use the same text field, so they 'should' be in the same spot. I agree with making the sub-text dimmer.

Its getting there though :-)
Slowly, but persistently ;-)

Ohh another thing, the color the players name in text mode should maybe reflect their class too.

If you can an option like that soon I'll be donating some money your way for sure!

One other feature DocNameplates had which was really nice was that when you mouse over a player, it was able to see the guild the player belonged to. I believe it only worked on mouse over so it was able to read the player information. So nameplates appeared in blue if there was no guild information in it's database.

I'm guessing a feature like that will take some time to implement, but it was pretty damn useful and I would love to see it in Tidy Plates.

Actually the recent updates to Tidy Plates have been damn impressive. While best as tanking plates, they are really looking good for dps plates now too.

So actually I just installed the latest build and you do show guild names now, very awesome.

For guild members is the display automatic or do you still have to mouse over?

It would be great to have an icon too for guild and friends while in text mode. As an option would be fine, but I would really appreciate this.

Re: raid marks

Hi Zohar,

Yes, it's possible to attach any sort of graphics to a nameplate. (it's how Tidy Plates works) Here's the limitation:

Nameplates are created by the WoW Client. It controls their position, and when they are shown or hidden. The only identification that the default nameplates come with is the name. This can make it difficult to differentiate between two mobs of the same name.

You could easily do something with friends and guildies, though. For example, Tidy Plates has a programmable function to show some custom artwork on the nameplate...

function SetCustomArt(unit)
-- Tidy Plates passes a table to the function, which contains unit data
if IsMyFriend(unit.name) then
return "Interface\\Addons\\ArtLocation\\FriendArt"
end
end

Is it possible to attach marks like raid-marks to the nameplates? (but they wouldn't be raid marks). I know there's stuff like HHTD. But say you want to mark your friends, your guildies, or a few specific friendlies (or enemies) and so on. Is this doable or is there's something in blizz code preventing this?

raid marks

Here's a theoretical question and I'm not requesting it as a feature but just asking for an opinion since you two know ins and out of nameplate coding, and I can't think of anyone better to ask:

Is it possible to attach marks like raid-marks to the nameplates? (but they wouldn't be raid marks). I know there's stuff like HHTD. But say you want to mark your friends, your guildies, or a few specific friendlies (or enemies) and so on. Is this doable or is there's something in blizz code preventing this?

It's possible ;-)

I'll look into it

Thanks!
