Threat Plates - Version 8.7

Battle for Azeroth Beta:
You can find a working version of Threat Plates for BfA Beta here.

About:
Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Starting with version 8.6.0, Threat Plates now is a standalone addon that no longer requires TidyPlates. Please enable only one of these two nameplate addons, otherwise two overlapping nameplates will be shown for units.
Features:
  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

There most definitely are options for target alpha. Look in the nameplate settings > alpha
I'm looking for just a slightly different functionality, where having no target it all will apply the "non-target alpha" setting to mobs.

Currently I have -75% for non-target alpha, but if I have no target at all it shows everything at 100%. I'd like for only my current target to ever show at 100%. Would be awesome if you could support this

Aye, i've got these things right, using PS for making the artwork.
Anyway i've been looking into the code of existing TidyPlates themes, and they seem to call the backdrop within the healthbar part, and not the healthborder part where ThreatPlates has it. I think this might be the problem? But no time to test it atm..
You're right; I didn't catch that in the code you'd posted. Backdrops are part of the statusbar, not the overlay/border.

I currently haven't provided options for these textures to be used, or placed them into the appropriate themes.

I will be adding this soon. I've been a bit busy with some website design work of mine. Feel free to check out my blog for some new posts: http://suicidalkatt.eternal-design.net

Hmm, well i'm not much into LUA, but i've changed the code at line 961:
Code:
healthborder = {
texture = "TP_HealthBarOverlay",
backdrop = "TP_Backdrop",
show = true,
},
Needless to say i've also added a TP_Backdrop.tga in the artwork folder. However this doesn't seem to work, even if my texture is indexed with 1 color only. Any help is appreciated, if it's not too much effort.
Most importantly, the image dimensions must be a power-of-two, such as, 32x256 or 16x512. Next, transparency can be added by designing an alpha channel. What software are you using to create the image? Targa alpha channels can be tricky.

Hmm, well i'm not much into LUA, but i've changed the code at line 961:
Code:
healthborder = {
texture = "TP_HealthBarOverlay",
backdrop = "TP_Backdrop",
show = true,
},
Needless to say i've also added a TP_Backdrop.tga in the artwork folder. However this doesn't seem to work, even if my texture is indexed with 1 color only. Any help is appreciated, if it's not too much effort.

It so happens I was looking into this, but without any results... The option for a 'backdrop' is in the code, but there is no data entered for it. However if you input a texture name for the backdrop nothing happens. It just won't show, no clue why, probably it has something to do with standard wow-nameplates also not having any backdrop. (and TP only replaces textures..? dunno)

Things should be in working order now, please let me know if this is not the case.

There seems to be a bug with this addon. Whenever I disable friendly nameplates the turn back on the moment I enter combat. If I disable them in combat they turn on again when I reenter combat. Using the latest version. Any solution?
