Tidy Plates: Threat Plates - Version 8.4

About:
Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.
Features:
  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

If you don't like the Threat indicator around the bar delete or rename this file: ...\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\TidyPlates_ThreatPlates\Artwork\TP_Threat.tga

I canged some textures and maybe you prefer my layout:

can be downloadet together with my UI compilation LeilaUI2

Threat alpha/size/color based on blizzard main tanks.

Wasn't sure whether this is a Tidy Plates request or a Threat Plates request so I posted in both places.

Would it be possible to have an option for tanks that would cause nameplates to not react to threat if the person holding aggro is another tank on the blizzard main tank list?

Basically if I lose aggro on a mob the frame turns red and scales larger. I would like it to not do this if the person I lost threat to is another tank that's marked as a main tank through the blizzard ui.

Is there a way to disable the border or change the border. Perhaps have it plugged into the shared media the same way the health bar is.

Especially in PvP the red highlighted box around the health bar is rather distracting.

I'm also wondering what setting I adjust to make the plates around the one I have targeted a lesser alpha, so I can identify which target I have selected. I noticed you have highlight options, but they seem rather large.

Thanks in advance.

The border is fixed into the nameplate textures. Its not handled like a normal border texture.

If you're talking about nameplate glows, if you set them to fully transparent, they won't show up.

Target fading is under Nameplate Options > Nameplate Alpha.

Is there any chance at all to get an option to resize the height of the Cast bar on the plates? I think I have asked 2-3 times so far but never heard anything back. A simply yes or no will do, then I'll know to stop asking.
Currently we can change the text size in the cast bar but not the bar itself.

In the video you will see LUI working and then when switched to Threat Plates LUI config is blank I can not move the panels etc.
Please download BugGrabber and BugSack.

These 2 addons help determine Lua errors and if some error is occuring you can copy paste it here to give me some insight. I'm not very fluent with LUI's setup or its inclusions.

Looking at his package, he doesn't include the SharedMedia library in his package. While it is a optional dependancy, it may be causing it to load later than Threat Plates.

I'll look into it some.

Thanks for looking into this, I love the mod and don't really find any of the other available nameplate options show what I want as a tank as well as tptp does.

Edit: Ok it appears to be an issue with the interaction of TPTP and LUI.
Other skins + LUI -> no problem
TPTP + LUI -> (both with built in enabled/disabled) FPS crash, latency spike in the range of 2.5k ms persistent through hiding of nameplates.
I'm talking about tidy plates, not threat plates.

as do I, but every error I get is from an LUI module. Tried it again just now.
Turned of LUIs tooltips, and plates, turned on TP, and got an error from LUIs Datatext module. Before that it was the tooltip module

edit

I recently updated my my old LUI to the new LUI v3.3

Now Loui has an in house nameplate which is disabled or enabled via a module tab.

Here is the issue.

When I have his nameplate module enabled everything is fine.
When I disable his module, which is fine cause he intended it to be so you have freedom to choose, and I enable Tiday Plate TP the second I see the name plate above a mob everything goes out of whack.
  • I can't access the LUI panel none of the panels are working.
  • I can't see say chat
  • I can't see my own buffs anymore
  • Basically a nightmare

My question is what could TP be doing to disrupt LUI in such a harsh fashion. The only error I get is:

[string "<unnamed>:OnShow"]:4: attempt to concatenate local 'name' (a nil value)
Count: 1

Call Stack:
[C]: ?
[string "*:OnShow"]:4: in function <[string "*:OnShow"]:1>

Here is a video of it in action:

This is not caused by TP, its caused by LUIs tooltip addon. I have the same thing. Its the Gametooltip function.
