Threat Plates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 11.1.40, Classic: 11.1.40
by: suicidalkatt, Blacksalsify

Threat Plates (TP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Features:

  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

  • Changed icons for configuration mode of Boss Mods widget to icons that are also available in WoW Classic.
  • Removed LibClassicCasterino as cast information is provided by the WoW API since WoW Classic Patch 1.15.0.
  • Fixed a Lua error in Boss Mods widget that occurred when configuration mode was enabled on units without a nameplate [Comment #7223].

Not sure if this is threat plates or tidy plates. But the plates are covering parts of my UI. If there is no option how can I go in and change the code so its using the lowest frame strata possible?

This can cause issues when there are a ton of name plates and they cover my actionbar.

Tank/Dps spec settings

I went ahead and nuked the old variables to let this new config settle in and mostly things are ok. The two items that are not are the target widget (crescents are way oversized!) and that my profiles don't seem to retain the proper tank vs dps switches. I ony have two profiles I use, the options the same, save one is labelled and set tank/dps and the other dps/dps. But no matter how I switch between the two or save each, the tank vs dps settings on dual specs don't seem to change.

Any ideas?

And thank you thank you THANK YOU for keeping these going in MoP. I much prefer them to the other tidy plate formats.

The percentage for health is not being calculated the same as blizzards ui for health bars.

Quickly looked at your code looks like you just need to change floor to ceil to get the same results.

Then I though "Let`s have a look what this Addon is doing". There are just 2 files.
One of them is CoehlColors.toc and the other one is CoehlColors.lua. In the lua-file
I found nothing more than:

RAID_CLASS_COLORS["DEATHKNIGHT"] = { r = 0.58, g = 0.00, b = 0.04 };
RAID_CLASS_COLORS["PALADIN"] = { r = 0.88, g = 0.31, b = 0.35 };
RAID_CLASS_COLORS["PRIEST"] = { r = 0.82, g = 0.91, b = 1.00 };

Why are these 3 lines a problem? Maybe this helps you finding a bug or something like this.
Thanks for this great addons and love over the years.
I also set up a global table of RAID_CLASS_COLORS in TPTP. It is most likely trying to find that table or rewrites part of my table and it starts creating issues with TPTP.

I should of disabled my other addons. Anyways the problem was an addon I have called !BeautyWigs. Something in MOP caused a conflict I guess. Thanks for the quick response. Threatplates is a key part of my ui. Thank you!

I honestly prefer having the different layers. Customization is much higher and really sports the 'theme' implementation of Tidy Plates.

I am looking to change the height and width of the bars to make them similar to how SWTOR's nameplates look (thinner and not as wide as WoWs, yet can see them perfectly and dont take up as much space) but with the superior options of threatplates for scaling/threat etc.
Creating options and update methods to create such a feature would be very difficult and unreliable to implement. Also, since the textures would be stretched, castbar and healthbar placements would be off quite drastically.
Actually you could create borders that work with setbackdrop. But that would require redoing all your artwork. I did something like this in my addon where I had one texture but later made it into a border to use with setbackdrop. It probably be easier for the author of tidyplates to offer this to addon authors so they can do it easier somehow.

Tidy Plates doesn't use SetBackdrop.

Yes, it is possible to implement with Threat Plates. Danltiger (author of Tidy Plates) has widgets and functions which track threat and tank roles within the raid/party environment which are global and can be used with my addon, yet I haven't created the functions to use those global functions provided by Tidy Plates.

So until I have a chance to work on that and create the appropriate function calls and options within Threat Plates, the coloring for alternate tanks other than yourself won't be available. Right now you can use the default Tidy Plates themes provided with Tidy Plates and there is support for alternate tank coloring with those themes.

Edit: I read things wrong.
