Tidy Plates: Threat Plates - Version 8.3

About:
Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.
Features:
  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

Hello

Loving this beta and the friendly classcolors !

You probably have already a huuge todo list, but I was thinkg about adding a slider to adjust scale and alpha for friendly units in "Nameplate Options".

Thanks again for this great addon

The sliders for size under nameplate scale affect friendly nameplates as well, perhaps you're looking for an offset scale for friendlies?

Yes

To scale or set the opacity of friendlies (for example guildies) seperately.
Right now, it's just the 'Normal' slider I think, which also controls mobs.

Anyway, thanks

I really like your addon. But one thing is missing:

Could you please enable the "tug-o-threat" or a "raid-tank" option for threat plates?
This would be very useful if tanking with multiple tanks.

Further information can be found here: http://tidyplates.blogspot.com/2010/...ming-soon.html

Thanks

Already have.

Check under the threat options for "tanked widget" and "threat widget".

been having an issue setting the scale of "normal" mobs --- the damn thing doesnt seem to want to scale, no matter how much i want it to. I've relogged to see if it jsut wont apply on the fly, and that doesnt seem to help any at all.
I like to run at 75% ... and it still gets stuck at 100% no amount of changing settings does anything.
I've wiped out non-beta .lua files in my saved Variables Folders....

I've been going back and forth between release and Beta for awhile now.

I really like all the options of Beta, but I'm having an issue with "plate lag". Essentially, when mobs are just milling about out of combat, plates display as normal. However, when they are engaged, the plates disappear for a second or two, but eventually return as normal. I'm running the tanked widget and the debuff widget, so it might have something to do with that, since I don't have this problem with the release version (which of course doesn't have those widgets).

Also, occasionally the tanked widget will appear on mobs that are neutral/out of combat.

I'm not getting any errors or anything of that sort. Its just a bit of a curiosity. So basically, just an fyi.

Keep up the great work.

Feature Request

Hey! Love the addon, I use it on my dpsers and tanking chars.

There's one thing that I would love if you could change though, currently the targetting highlight is very small and not always that noticeable. Usually it's not a problem, but when you're on Blood Princes 25man heroic and you need to absolutely hit the right thing within milliseconds and cannot hit anything else, it sometimes is a bit difficult to see what is targetted and what isn't.

I would love to see some sort of feature to adjust how well you see what is targetted and what isn't. Like maybe fading out non-targetted plates or increasing the highlight box (I see there is a slider for this already but it doesn't appear to do anything).

Cheers,
Krof

There are multiple styles now for target textures and you can put a color you'd find more noticeable.

The on target fade is available under Nameplate Options > Nameplate Alpha.

Here you'll find a check box and a slider for adjusting.

Thanks for the quick reply!

The alpha-stuff is great and I'll definitely use that. However I can't seem to find the options for target textures. Unless you mean the ones under "Healthbar texture" (which doesn't seem to affect the highlight appearance)?

Is there any way to increase the size of the cast bar? even its just editing a texture it would be good. Saw a huge plate cast bar on a Tankspot LK vid, was great for spotting defile casts.
The current one seems to get buried behind the extra widgets.

Whats the Green-Yellow-Red bar for? and how do I turn it off? it overlaps the cast bar, and is distracting.

also, is there a guide explaining what each option does? I cant work out what some of them do.

Sorry, i must be blind but i can't find anything that looks like it has anything to do with it.
"Name Text" only edits the mob's name
