Tidy Plates: Threat Plates - Version 8.4

About:
Tidy Plates: Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a theme for use with Tidy Plates with patch 5.0.4 or later WoW client. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.
Features:
  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

Add options to scale special Nameplates larger

Please add option to scale special nameplates larger than 100%.

i set my UI scale at the smallest and set nameplates to 130%.
but since special nameplates are limited to 100%, its bit hard to see.

other then that AWESOME addons.

Not sure where you're seeing the limit of 100% because they can go to 200% or more...

You may be thinking "alpha" which is not "scale".

Re: Re: Add options to scale special Nameplates larger

After read your reply i tried to look for options to adjust scale for special nameplates but failed to scale it above 100%. i just cant find it.

All normal nameplates can be scale above 100%. up to 200% like you posted below. but only "special nameplates" like pets/boss encounters/etc are limited to 100% just like the screenshot you uploaded on frontpage.

if not please tell me how to fix/find. =p thank you for ur reply tho.

Re: Re: Re: Add options to scale special Nameplates larger

i'm using french localization .
Strength of Earth Totem ("Totem de force de la terre" for me) does not hide when unchecking it.

The others seems to hide correctly while unckecking them.

same for the hunter snake trap. (can't find how to hide critters )

Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I can't get the class icon option to work. Also, are there any plans to enable a class color option? (As in Priests have a white health bar etc). I know you had it with Cleanplates and I loved that option.

Amazing work =).

EDIT - Can't figure out how to delete this post, but when I got in arena everything was tip top. Probably just wasn't working in Dalaran and I couldn't give a rats ass about that.

This is honestly my favorite addon to date.

Is that the correct name for the totem?

I getcha, I'll add some additional scaling later on. Still working on a major update.

awesome addon, but I just wanted to know 4 things (if they are possible to do, planned, will never happen or whatever)

- can you someway use Clique with this or will a similar function be added to the addon someday?
(using mouseover macros for now, but it's not the same and I always have to configure it manually for every char :P)
This is it if someone wants to try something like this, it's quite handy. (ofc you might want to change the spells if you're not a lowbie shaman )
Code:
#showtooltip
/use [mod:shift, @mouseover, help] Lesser Healing Wave; [@mouseover, help] Healing Wave; [@mouseover, dead] Ancestral Spirit; [@mouseover, harm] Wind Shear;
- Is a Healer mode planned? (related to the first question :P) with friendly bars getting bigger when they go low HP or are cursed with something you can heal? (and well also the enemy plates getting bigger if you aggro them :P)

- is it possible to auto-disable the plates when you enter a capital city? (the plate-spam in dalaran, orgrimmar and similar places is quite bad, doing it manually for now but I'm lazy )

- is it possible to hide the health of the totems leaving the icons active? (I don't really care how much life they have since they just die in one hit except maybe the stoneclaw)

This is it if someone wants to try something like this, it's quite handy. (ofc you might want to change the spells if you're not a lowbie shaman )
Code:
#showtooltip
/use [mod:shift, @mouseover, help] Lesser Healing Wave; [@mouseover, help] Healing Wave; [@mouseover, dead] Ancestral Spirit; [@mouseover, harm] Wind Shear;
You'd have to ask Danltiger for that kinda support. I wouldn't know how clique would react with Tidy Plates.

I never really would put the effort into making that functional, since the vast majority wouldn't use it and it would only add to the overall size of the addon.

Smart features such as debuffs and player aggro would not be easy either.

I could but pressing 1 keybind is a whole lot easier than making something that could do it for you. If anything you could get a separate addon for that I'm sure.

In order to hide HP and other details, you'd have to create a new nameplate style for each totem which would take a lot to implement. Using 2 styles is doable but will take some time to implement.

Even doing so would really add to some problems with clicking the totems anyway considering their mouseover area would not be visible.

I will go bother him then!
Anyway I can see how most people wouldn't use it (and to be honest I rarely would use that too in 25man raid), but I find it handy in 5-10 man instances and also more fun since you don't have to keep watching the unitframes all the time and you can watch a bit more of action
(I find it REALLY useful while tanking though since when I see a mob running away I can just click on the tidyplate to taunt it ;D)

Hey. first off, thanks allot for letting us enjoy this awesome addon.. however there is just a few tiny parts of it, where i think could be improved a little. might be just me that got rly used to it, but my last nameplate addon i had, had the chanse to change the color of the font to "class collor".. however this helped me allot as it's hard to have 1 collor for all class when u want to display hostile as 1 collor and friendly as 1 collor. if i use class collor on font on bars it wouldnt help me , because u will always get problem with for instance a shammy (blue collor) and friendly nameplate collor withch is blue as well. if i change this, i could change it to light blue, but then it looks like mage.. so having the chanse to use 2 collors on 1 bar would help allot..

also i notice the border is different when im inside instance and target mobs, then it is when im inside arena. the differnce is that the border in pve overlap (overlap targets i dont have targeted) witch is good when i want to see my target nameplate more visable then non target, but in pvp the border for "target" dont overlap, (border hide between other namplate bars) so if there is many nameplates at one spot, u dont see the border at all.

it would also be nice to have a chanse to hide nameplates by "name" so for later use i could just blacklist a name of a mob or player /pet i dont wanna see.

but moste important is font collor i think.. anyway thx again, and hope it was not too big request

best regards

hello

i liked your mod for tidy plates
but is there some kind of way to edite the width (length) of the bars
i dont like to have long bars all over my screen but i want to keep them visable so i can see my debuffs on them

question is will you add a feature where you can adjust only the heigth or width of the bar.

also is there a way to adjust the threath lvls
so lets say green goes up to 80% orange 90% and red 95%
as dpser or show % above the bar

I've been working on my UI a lot lately... Threat Plates needs a lot of work, but there are a lot of things preventing me from diving into it.

I already have a lot of new ideas for some new things, but I can't incorporate most until tiger posts a new release for TidyPlates. (I'd rather not use betas in my UI release.)

Some things I've thought about:

HP coloring depending on raid marking (functional on friendly nameplates as well).
Info widget, guild, guild rank, etc, etc.

I obviously need to release a localization version, but before I can do that I need to redo a lot of the options to make it a bit more simple and less objects to have translated.
