UPDATE:

Looks like it worked, thanks for the advice!

If it's not too much asked, maybe you can include in your future updates a small walkthrough for those who just want to Upgrade RealUI from one version to the next. Only if it makes sense, though, of course.
Not a bad idea. May include an "upgrade" folder containing only the necessary files for the update. Means I'll have to be a bit stricter on how much I change per update :P Though, mostly it'll be one or two bug fixes in an addon here or there, so shouldn't be a problem.

Total Awesomeness, I like the new setup very much.

Now my question - I just switched to RealUI last week and now I'm wondering if I can just install this new version over the old one or do I have to follow the Installation instructions to the T again (which would mean losing a whole bunch of adjustments I made to make it fit my playstyle including some extra AddOns).

Can you give me an advice how to update without having to redo everything from scratch?

Thank you very much in advance.
Hmm, gonna be tough since this was a fairly major overhaul. You can probably keep settings from addons you've installed yourself, but all the addons that came with the package should be freshly updated.

The beginning stage of RealUI was over a little quicker than I thought it would be due to getting some time off of work, the updates from now on won't be so major or as frequent.

For keeping settings of addons you've installed yourself:
  1. Create a copy of the WTF folder located in your WoW directory and store it in a safe place.
  2. Do a fresh install of RealUI 0.1.0
  3. Once fully installed and set up, go back to your backed up WTF folder
  4. Look under "Account\YourAccntName\SavedVariables\" and "Account\YourAccntName\YourRealm\YourCharacter\SavedVariables\" for .Lua files matching addons that you installed yourself. Copy these .Lua files into the corresponding directories in your new WTF folder.
  5. You can also copy the "bindings-cache.wtf" and "macros-cache.txt" files from "Account\YourAccntName\" and "Account\YourAccntName\YourRealm\YourCharacter\" to the matching folders in the new WTF folder to keep your key bindings and macros.
  6. Install the addons you want. Then launch the game.

Well, it's not that I won't be playing Cata because it won't be fun :P If time permits I'll be there, just have a lot of things on the horizon.

I've removed some of the addons included (more personal taste then anything else) but I haven't had to add any to the mix which is a first.

Keep up the awesome work, can't wait to see what later versions bring for RealUI!
Most of the time I've spent on 0.1.0 so far has been making it more CPU efficient. There are a few new features though:
  • Target buffs/debuffs display is getting an overhaul.
  • Grid will have a proper layout and be positioned at the bottom.
  • New, separate SexyCooldown bars for short term buffs and Totem durations.
  • Some Action Bars that show on mouse-over at the left hand side of the screen.
  • Player/Target frame status as text instead of icons to go with the overall theme better.
  • Thinking of including Bagnon into the package.
  • Amenity is currently working on an animation system to smooth the movement of the Health and Power arrows, though not sure if I'll get it into the first release of 0.1.0.
