Update thread - Some additional information about this update is available on the forums.




Installation / Updates

You won't need to rename any folders.
Installation is a simple 1-click install process.

New Installation / Minor (8.#) Update Procedure:
Step 1: Move your current WTF and Interface folders to a backup folder.

If you are updating, moving the WTF folder is not needed.

Step 2: Copy RealUI's Interface folder to your World of Warcraft folder.

You won't lose any of your settings when updating RealUI.
Visit the Change Log to find out what has changed.

Revision (r#) Update Procedure:
Step 1: Copy RealUI's Interface folder to your World of Warcraft folder.

Make sure to overwrite all existing files and folders.
You won't lose any of your settings when updating RealUI.
Visit the Change Log to find out which addons have been modified.

Note: If you are playing in an asian region or regularly interact with players who use asian glyphs, go to the "Other Files" page and download the files most applicable to your situation.

The 1680 x 900 should work for you. That's the same ratio.

Kind of true, yet not really. There will be a number of things out of place plus the borders on panels will mostly be blurred.

Shot in the dark...

Just wondering if its possible to add support for Skada instead of using recount/omen. There are ALOT of people that simply do not like using the omen/recount combo when skada can do pretty much all of it in one package and then some. Just wondering if its possible to add the skada window to the toggle instead of recount/omen.

you would need to remove some of the lines so there wouldn't be two boxes there. Replace all references of omen/recount with the name of the skada panel, and anchor (and maybe parent) all kgpanels to skada.


And just to clarify a bit. Everything being in one pack might be nice, but skada isnt exactly accurate. Because of its combat log suppression that it uses to keep memory usage down, dps reports are off. (just because an addon takes up little memory doesnt mean it doesnt use a crap load of cpu power. its actually the other way around mostly. because the processor has to compress data during combat it tends to use a lot more cpu usage. im sure you could spare several megs for addons)

You can try and move kgpanels around to fit your screen. just make sure to keep panels that are stacked in the right spots.

The only time its a real pain in the ass to move panels around are when action bars are being hidden.
If all of the panels are parented and anchored to recount, you could just move recount and omen, then move the hide/show buttons
Pitbull can be moved around freely as those arrows are parented to their respective frames

You would need to move around the texts to.. and im not sure how to mess with those yet. i havent played around with them at all.

Love the UI. Only problem is I am not able to resize the chat frame. I even enabled the tabs and unlocked it and it still won't move. Any suggestions?

You can. just turn the opacity to like 50 so you can see the corner and drag it like normal (its locked by default i think)

It is actually unlocked by default. I did adjust the opacity but something has it locked. It would be ok if it wasn't bigger than the artwork behind it by about 25%. Running at 1920 x 1080

Is it unlocked in Interface Options > Social > Lock Chat Settings?
That and the Lock Window under the General tab's right click menu should be the only things that can lock the chat window.

That's what it was, always something simple. I was under the impression that unlocking in the tabs unlocked it in the interface options. Thanks a lot guys.

That is statline - although - now that you bring it up - I can only get it to display 2 entries - the far right displays a little < mark - is the third entry being suppressed by another mod?

swap out recount for recap?

I am just coming back into WoW and I am a little behind the times mod-wise. I love this UI - the ability to hide the objects is fantastic.

I am hoping you can point me in the right direction - where would I start if I wanted to swap out recount for recap but provide the same hide/show functionality? Is this all contained in kgPanels?

Also - I would like to make the chat area larger - looking at the kgPanels there are a LOT of panels in there named "chat" - if I simply wanted to make everything a bit taller and wider are there a "Few" items to be changed or is it really as big a task as it appears to me?

Thanks for your advice - and thanks for an excellent compilation - its just incredible.
