What is this?

  • Yet another tooltip addon. It is dependent on gMedia which must be downloaded separately!


What does it do?
  • Reskin the game tooltips
  • Moves the tooltip healthbars inside the frame
  • Colors character names by class
  • Colors unit names by faction standing
  • Colors pet names by happiness
  • Colors unit level by quest difficulty (makes stuff 10 levels above you red, etc etc)
  • Allows you to choose between anchoring all tooltips to the curser, only unit tooltips, or none at all
  • Can hide the tooltips when engaged in combat

- Fixed the same nil error regarding "color" as I fixed in 1.24. For some reason.... it had been reverted...?...?

- Now uses the global SHOW_TOOLTIPS_IN_COMBAT to set tooltip visibility for other gMods as well
- Healthbars are now positioned beneath the tooltip

- Tooltips are now by default shown while in combat. Users which had a previous version of gTip needs to update this setting themselves.

- Fixed a nil error regarding the "color" value in line 133 that would sometimes occur at startup

This one is being fixed in the next update (which is v 1.24+).

It is/was an error that would appear mostly when logging in, and sometimes when relogging or reloading the ui. The technical reason for it was that the tooltips become visible before all information is available to the client, and I didn't cover for that in my code.

I'm at a loss here. I can't figure this one out. The language is connected to the editbox in the chatframes. I don't touch that at all in gTip!

Well, I had everything disabled, nothing. Enabled gMedia, nothing. Enabled gTip and it happened. Disabled gTip and it went back to normal.

This bug is randomly reported in tons of addons. I can guarantee that gTip is not responsible though. It's nowhere near the chat settings.

I get this little issue on my mage but i never really tried to figure out what addon it was

Any plans to update this for 3.3.5? There is a bug where whenever I log in that my language changes from Orcish to Thalassian. It is this addon for sure, hoping it gets an update though =/

LUA based, or dragging an anchor? Either way, a decent option. Great tooltip, simple & clean.

I'm considering it. That is one of the few things that truly are missing, the option for the user to decide the default position.

If I do it, most of the options will be exactly as they are now, except that the position the tooltip defaults to when not anchored to the mouse cursor, would be the user defined position, not the bottom right corner.

I can do that.

Might take a /reload or two to get it right, but I guess I can work something out.
