cargBags gUI

Version: 1.21
by: Goldpaw [More]

Discontinued!

Please visit gBags for the new version, which is built upon the beta version of cargBags2.

1.21
- Modified the sizes of the icons and their borders to match each other
- Slightly modified the spacing between the frames
- The cooldown timer should no longer appear outside the icon borders
- The item count now has smaller text, and appears above the icon and border. Very large stacks counts like Hunter ammo should no longer be hidden.

1.2
- Now uses rActionButtonStyler - Dajova for button skinning
- Changed the color of the background texture to match gUI better
- Now saves the position of the bags between sessions. This is saved per character.

1.123
- Now uses gMedia:shadow() to create the shadows behind the bags

1.122
- Scaled down the bags slightly, and increased the space between items.

1.121
- Fixed the faulty bag space display when having 9 slots available

1.12
- Changed the variables for text colors, to copy gUI constants if they are present
- Created a new routine to handle the graphic space display, since patch 3.3.3 broke it

1.11
- Split gems and glyphs
- Added Anywhere shortcut to the bankframe as well

1.1
- Added automatic hiding and showing of empty bags (e.g the gem bag will disappear when empty, but reappear if you obtain a gem)
- Added bag filters for Armor and Weapons
- Added Projectiles, Recipies and Misc filters to the Trade bag
- Added a separate bag for Gems and Glyphs
- No longer separates between equipment stored in sets and otherwise.

1.01
- Removed embedded kRestack

Seems I actually had a minor bug in gMedia:shadow()

Turns out that it is NOT the same thing to multiply and divide! Who would have thought?

gMedia is about to be released as a stand-alone addon, and even though I am quite some time away from updating cargBags_gUI, gMedia WILL be updated, and it will have full backwards compability. Meaning the pixel bug will probably be fixed without the need for anybody to edit any LUA code by themselves.

Actually, this addon is around 30kb or something. You are referring to the download size, which is the size of a zipfile which includes some dependencies.

They will be separated in the future, but currently the dependency gMedia isn't downloadable by itself, so it's a part of this download. Most of my addons use gMedia, which in itself is a work in progress. Soon to be a stand alone project. gMedia includes fonts, textures, backgrounds, functions to create various graphic elements etc etc.

You should be aware though, that even though the download size is around 600kb, the memory usage is far far below that. Even though gMedia contains tons of textures you'll never use for this particular addon, they are never loaded into memory in WoW using this addon. It only takes up space on the harddrive, not any in-game memory or cpu time while running WoW.

The shadow is made by gMedia:shadow(), and that is set to position the shadow exactly around the frame borders. So I am guessing editing the inset on the backdrop you use can fix it.

That's the best advice I can currently give.

Well, without editing the LUA file directly, no way yet. I'll be adding user configurable scaling in an upcoming version, though. I'm currently in the process of more or less rewriting it from scratch, to allow for a lot more categories, options to hide certain things like Soul Shards or Ammo.... and of course scaling.

For now, I think editing line 82 in cargBags_gUI.lua might do the trick:
Code:
		DefaultScale 		= 1,
Just change the 1 to something bigger, and you'll be fine for now.

Currently the addon just places the items in the Category WoW gave them. I have added a few more things to TradeGoods than what is actually categorized as TradeGoods, but all consumables should be in the consumables category. So this can only mean that Blizzard don't really want us to eat certain types of fish....

Anyway, no; There is no way to manually override it. And I don't really plan on adding it. I have a lot of changes planned, but that is not one of them.

Ah, yes. I can understand the problem here. I imagine other users are getting it too, in both the bank and bags.

I'll work out a fix.

Thanks for the report!

Depends on how broken it is. Small patches to make it run, and complete rewrites are two different things.

Seeing how this is THE framework for most of us, I'm sure somebody will fix it if a WoW patch breaks it. cargBags (and oUF for that matter) is the backbone of a lot of addons.

Just can't live without it!
