Interesting, will see how this performs versus my new favourite (AdiBags). Definately looks good though, i'm curious to see if the CPU usage as a hunter has been brought down to an acceptable level. That's why i stopped using CargBags in the first place.

According to Cargor, the bags don't update at all when not shown in 2.0. Since Hunters have the bags updating constantly from their use of ammo, this should in theory improve things a lot in combat.

Sadly my level 14 Hunter doesn't raid much, so I was unable to test that part...

Ok, initial impression.


Memory usage. When opening/closing the bags in rapid succession, the memory usage grows quite alot (Memory leak maybe?). To replicate this, just open/close the bags 5-6 times after eachother. Other than that, no major problems, looks very nice and will follow this closely.

Just needs key ring support and perhaps a LDB plugin ... unless you can recommend a good one (for bag slots open etc) :P

This is a nice bag mod.

The only question I have is, is there a way to put weight to the Keyring so that Keys that are quests, and keys that are consumables (blacksmithing) don't show up in any category other then the key ring?

Thats something i would love to see as well maybe a LDB where ya could open your Bank Bags as well like Bagnon does.

I already like this addon....

Click the little "Bags" text at the bottom right corner. There you have your bagbar and keyring (if you have any keys).

Ok, here's my test results regarding memory usage:

Upon login: 188,7Kb
After opening the bags about 20 times: 188,7Kb
After opening the BANK about 20 times: 230,7Kb
After opening everything tons of more times: 230,7Kb


I think I've figured this out. The way cargBags2 work, the bags aren't actually created until the first time you open them. I've hooked in a fast open/close of the main bags in the login routine, to handle some minor issues with the initialization, therefore there was no memory change from logging in, to opening the bags.

Since the bankframe hasn't been drawn yet, the memory usage does increase the first time we open it, but only the first time. Then it stays the same, since all the bags are created after that point.

cargBags2 have been written this way to lessen to loading/init time of the addon. For people with tons of addons, this is a good thing, I would presume.

I didn't test this very long, so there may still be a leak somewhere, but from my tests, and my knowledge about how cargBags2 works, I think this is as intended. The bags don't reserve the memory they need until all bags + bank have been opened at least once. This is to lesson the workload during the loading/login process, to make the game world appear slightly faster. If only ALL addons did it this way...

just installed this and it looks nice

just have 1 question

is there anyway to resize the bag display cause normaly i use bagnon and had my bags a little bigger to look at

im using 1650 resolution and the bags look a little small

other then that very nice addon

No current way to resize the bags. That was actually on my ToDo-list, but somehow it slipped my mind.

I'll slip it into a future version. Can't give en exact estimate on it, but "soon" would be a good guess!

Hey Goldpaw!

Love the look and feel of gBags, but I'm having a minor problem. Whenever I unlock the bags and move them to line up next to my micro-menu, the position always resets after a reload. Maybe relocking causes the bag position to reset on reload?

Actually the position isn't saved when you lock the bags.

Expect a fix for it.

Looks great, can't wait for the alpha

a few things though:
* bags closes at vendors, but not at mailbox (bags and merchants -addon does this (which gbags crashed with))
* have the space for a keyring-button in the bagbar, but no button
* Gordok Shackle Key and Deathforge Key both shows up outside keyring, (pretty sure cargBag_Nivaya didn't do this)
* sorry to hear you're not supporting Outfitter, hope you will at some point
* hope you get the scale-option implementet soon.. could use icons juuust a bit bigger

* Yeah, I only get the keyring icon for the characters I have keys on. Also, the bagbar isn't showing if other addons also try to grab the default Blizzard bagbars. I'll fix this is hopefully the next update, by creating copies of the original bagbars/keyring instead of moving the original one

* Gordok Shackle Key and Deathforge Key are by definition Quest items. Or something else. My Keyring is the Blizzard key ring. It shows what Blizzard lets you put there. No more, no less.

* I'll add Outfitter support. My girlfriend uses it. No other reason is needed.

* I'll get scaling in too.

There will be one mini-update that takes care of some issues with the opening/closing of the bags, as well as some localization issues, and then the next update will take care of scaling, keyring, bagbars etc.
