That worked for me too, thanks for the tip It is odd that it should happen though, maybe I'll try putting it on a fresh install and see what happens and try to figure out what's going on.

Also, I noticed that "T" and "F" for whispers were backwards from what I'm used to. That is, when I whisper someone, it shows "F [Name]" and when someone whispers me, it shows "T [Name]." I looked at the code and compared it to PhanxChat and indeed the strings are defined the other way around.

In regards to my question about resizing the editbox, I decided to try defining the topleft and topright corners of the editbox in addition to the two bottom points already defined in the code, and it seems to work ok.

Just remove lines 112 through 114

editbox:SetBackdrop({bgFile = texture, edgeFile = texture, edgeSize = 2, insets = {top = 2, left = 2, bottom = 2, right = 2}})
editbox:SetBackdropColor(0,0,0,.8)
editbox:SetBackdropBorderColor(0,0,0,1)

Neither of these questions make sense. As they are both available and true by default in the addon

The URL copy feature is throwing an error.

Message: Interface\AddOns\bChat\bChat.lua:245: attempt to perform arithmetic on global 'scale' (a nil value)
Time: 08/22/10 14:02:38
Count: 1
Stack: Interface\AddOns\bChat\bChat.lua:245: in function `ChatFrame_OnHyperlinkShow'
[string "*:OnHyperlinkClick"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnHyperlinkClick"]:1>

*edit

After replacing the "scale-30" with "-30" the error went away.

Is there any way to enable the skinning features for Real ID conversations?

Updated, fixed any known bugs and removed the brackets from player names.

Looking into bnet conversations, been trying to find this with no luck

Hi there! I've a few observations and suggestions for you. Thank you for reading.

1) Since URL copy is no longer offered, please consider removing the screenshot and bit of description text that states URL copy as a feature of bChat.

2) I see no option for toggling timestamps in the config segment, but this is stated as a feature of bChat. Please consider taking appropriate action to clarify this - either on the description text, or re-implementation in the config segment.

3) The font size in the config segment only affects the editbox. Is it possible to add functionality to change the chat frame's text size as well? Right now, Blizzard's functionality for changing chat frame font size exists, but it only offers 12, 14 and 16.

4) I could find no place in the config segment to change the transparency of the new backdrop. In fact, there was no backdrop at all upon initial install of this most recent version of bChat.

5) A feature request: Please consider adding the ability to reposition the editbox and/or the chat tabs. With the editbox positioned to the top, it covers the chat tabs (or in this case, chat tab text). This makes it hard to toggle between chat frames since clicking on the chat tab text usually triggers the editbox.

6) Upon install, there is a duplicate background showing for the editbox. It's in the exact position and dimensions of the editbox, and actually scales when you resize the chat frame.

7) Please consider updating screenshots; for example, http://s.wowinterface.com/preview/pvw42508.jpg

this shows brackets around name in /say, but when I test this ingame, there are no brackets visible due to the functionality you have coded.

I do have to update the screenshots, I have been slacking on it.

The font size change *should* work, however its a known issue that if you select a font size in game and then afterwards change the font size in bchat, the frame's text size will remain what blizzard has cached. I'm looking into overwriting that function, but its been elusive.

There is also an option to put the editbox on top or bottom of the chat frame, though in the next update I will add an option for changing the distance it sits from either side of the frame.

As far as the faint outline of the chatbox, I'll include a fix for that in the next update. However that is just because in Interface>Options>Social, you'll find that setting your chat to Classic mode instead of IM it will remove the outlined box.

When i get home I will update screenshots.

Edit: As far as class colored tabs, this is not something that I plan on adding in to bchat, and unfortunately it would be a lengthy process or I would just tell you how to do it now. There are probably addons out there (like kgpanels) that will allow you to create frames that will color by class, and you can anchor them to each chat tab. I believe the anchor names you would need are ChatFrame1Tab, ChatFrame2Tab, ChatFrame3Tab etc..
