oUF lumen  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.0
by: neverg [More]
ouF_lumen requires oUF 1.6.

Before I used oUF and started writing my own layout and small addons, Pitbull, Grid and ClassTimer were a big part of the functionality of my UI. Since then I tried to cut down on the number of addons while trying to retain its functionality. oUF_lumen using the power of oUF tries to accomplish this by creating a customized set of unit frames tha replace Pitbull, Grid and ClassTimer while being light and functional.

If you're interested in my UI it's here.

This is a PERSONAL Layout. What this means is most of the functionalities will be implemented because I need them. I can eventually add oUF addon support or other features If I see utility in them, but I will never change the layout radically or add unnecessary features in my point of you just because.

Features

* It works (at least I hope so... ^^).
* Frames are focused on information and how quickly you can read it.
* ComboPoints colored by number (1 - White ... 5 - Red) and Stack of Deadly Poison number.
* Death Knight Runes that fade when out of combat
* Paladin Holy Power Number colored by stack.
* Warlock Shards as colored squares that fade if used.
* Moonkin Eclipse bar. Fades when out of combat.
* Minimal Grid Like Raid Frames specially good for Healing (err... like Grid).
* Threat Indication, Dispell Indication (for classes that can dispel) for Raid Frames.
* Integrated Class Timers like Spell Bars. (similar to ClassTimer).
* Raid Frames Corner Indicators specially good for Healing (similar to Grid CornerIcons).
* Fairly easy to reposition and tweak (config file with several options).
* Raid Layout customizable depending on the size of the Raid (10, 25 or 40).
* Raid/Party Important Debuff Icons (with oUF_AuraWatch).

Supported Frames

* Player
* Target
* Target of Target
* Focus
* Focus Target
* Pet
* Pet Target
* Vehicle
* Raid Frames
* Party Frames
* Party Pets
* Main Tank Frames
* Main Tank Target Frames
* Boss Frames * TBI *
* Arena Frames * TBI *

Suported Addons

* oUF_SpellRange (Recommended)
* oUF_Smooth Update (Recommended)
* oUF_MovableFrames
* oUF_Swing
* oUF_CombatFeedback
* oUF_BarFader
* oUF_Experience
* oUF_Reputation
* oUF_TotemBar
* oUF_AuraWatch
* oUF_DebuffHighlight

Credits

* haste for the great oUF and oUF_Lily as reference.
* Hypocrisy for oUF Hypocrisy and the inspiration in building my own oUF layout. It's the layout I used as a base for the first versions of oUF_lumen (v1.x was re-written from scratch).
* zork for oUF_Simple as a great source for help and code.
* Dawn for all the help in the forums and oUF_Nivea for source and inspiration.
* p3lim for the great ouF tips and oUF P3lim as reference.
* All the great people in the oUF and WoWInterface community always ready to help.

Known Issues

* Nothing major. Never tested localization since I play on the English Client.

Notes

* In order to edit the layout or move any element, you need to edit the configuration file (cfg.lua). I recommend you to backup your cfg.lua everytime you update oUF_lumen in order to save you time when updating whatever you have changed.

* If you want to replace the default texture. Just put a different texture on the Media folder with the name texture.tga to overwrite the default one.

I did put the options but forgot to actually implement them in the layout. Fixed, next build will work.

I only just noticed that there is not PVP flag icon implemented at all. that is I dont see if I get flaged pvp, not to talk of timer. I tough oUF (haste) had that covered.
Yes it does, but I don't see the point in using that since I don't like the Blizzard icons and I can see who has pvp and not, including myself by using TipTac Tooltilp! But I have just implemented a PvP Tag and Timer (if you turn off the PvP in oUF_lumen), it's out the next build that I should release today. It does not flag you for PvP if you are in a PvP Server. Combat tag has a higher priority so it will hide in combat. Thought of putting it in a separate place, but this way I save on resources, it uses the same tag so I don't have 2tags being updated.

Oh and In some recente build implemented a Tooltip into the experience bar:

I'm finishing this build with the changes and all. It' going to to 1.70 will be out today as my subscription ends tomorrow. So from now on till Cataclysm ends, I'll prob fix Bugs but won't be able to implement new futures.

@Seireimai Why would you want to do that? It's around line 697 anyway.

PVP timmer

Perfect. I finnaly have a oUF I like. Very good job. Thanks.

Request: Could you please consider adding a PVP timer. That is a countdown on how long it is before your you PVP runs out if you get marked (5mins from the time you last engaged enemy faction).

Blizz has all the stuff you just need to implement it. Also various unit frame addons have it implemeted and so far its the only thing that I miss.

Maybe to just have timer shown on mouse over of PVP flag on unit frame.

You could look into using the simple codes from here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...-PVPTimer.html

(its still functional, only very ugly).

Thanks for your consideration.

Cheers
Alex

Probably not. Can put some values to move them in the next build.

Open ouf_lumen.lua and find this line:

self.TotemBar[i]:SetPoint('LEFT', self, 'RIGHT', (cfg.target_frame_x_from_player/2) - (((cfg.totem_width + cfg.totem_spacing) * 2) - (cfg.totem_spacing/2)), 0)

Probably easiest to just hit ctrl+f and search for the word "totem".

Once you find it, replace "(cfg.target_frame_x_from_player/2) - (((cfg.totem_width + cfg.totem_spacing) * 2) - (cfg.totem_spacing/2)), 0" with any two values, tab back into the game, and enter /rl. You'll see the totem bar move.

It might end up looking like self.TotemBar[i]:SetPoint('LEFT', self, 'RIGHT', 100, 100) or something similar, with very different numbers ofc.

After that it's just a game of cat and mouse trying to enter the right values to get it where you want.

Hope that helps

Is it why you don't hide blizzard party frame ? (I'm using "display party as raid" or something like that )
Thanks.

And no, that is most probably I bug I didn't test. It should hide... strange. I'll test that when I have the chance. I don't use it like that is why I didn't noticed that.

It doesn't register Clicks all that well, so if you are using an addon like Clique you are pretty much scr**ed like I am.

First of all, thanks.

Now your questions:

1. No, it's being spawn, no matter what. But I will add options to disable any Frame in the next build then.

2. Go to wowhead.com and seach for a spell that you want. For example, the Moonkin Proc Shooting Stars. It's this the link. http://www.wowhead.com/spell=93400. See the number in the URL spell=93400? 93400 is the SpellID that you want. Easy. Add a new line to the whitelist and see how other spells are formated. It's always the same. SpellID then Name. Profit.

3. I think there are some bugs with the headers of oUF and OMF. Can't do nothing about that as I'm not the author of omf. I think it will be fixed eventually. I don't know a way to know X and Y position ingame. You can try /framestack, but that won't work well since specifics frames are anchored relative to specific places (Player is anchored relative to the Center of the Screen but others might not, Raid is position to the Bottom Right of the Screen, etc...). X is Horizontal Position and Y is Vertical. For X Positive values mean to the Right and negative to the Left. For Y, Positive is up and negative is down. Generally if you position a frame and don't see it, it's generally out of bounds (out of the screen). As a rule of thumb, put x=0 and y=0 and you should see all frames, in wierd places most likely, but you will. Using an addon like align is good to position them. Put some values and reload the game (/reload) and go from that, it's trial and error basically.

Can't help you much more than that.

4. Sorry this will never happen. The point of "most" of oUF addons is to be light and simple. While I don't think this layouts or oUF should be only for cody savvy people (and that is way I have add a s**tload of options, I don't need 99% of those options If I would only do the addon for myself) you still need to have a basic understanding of how for example, position works. Doing some kind of in-game options would be putting too much fluff to the addon, increasing it's weight, specially because it would need some additional libraries. There are some other leightweight Frames like Shadowed Unit Frames that accomplish this. oUF is different in that sense. That is why this will always be LUA Edit based only.

Anyway, hope this helps you to configure you the way you want. I would also recommend every time you upgrade my layout to save your cfg.lua first so you don't lose all the configuration. After you can open the new cfg.lua and just change the values that you want looking at the old config file.

While I answered to you, I hope this post clarifies more people with the same doubts.

And don't worry about your typos, I'm not an English speaker myself and I'm sure I do my worst to try to assassinate the language! :P I'm Portuguese.

You mean the latest 1.68 version? Well, till a Moderator approves it. It normally takes more time during this time of the day. It's the Time Shift difference, in Europe it's afternoon, in America it's not. I'm fairly certain most of the moderators are from America, so. At night it's normally instant, it's a matter of patience.

On another subject. There is a bug with the Blizzard API that makes any addon spawning Header Frames (Party, Raid) to take a big hit in performance, and work miserable bad. If you hover the tooltip over the Party or Raid Frames you will notice that it flickers. It doesn't register Clicks all that well, so if you are using an addon like Clique you are pretty much scr**ed like I am. It's a matter of patience to wait for Blizzard to patch this. It happens with any oUF or other Raid / Party frames addon. Just saying if anyone would ask.

first of all i have to say this is the best addon ( layout ) i 've ever seen its colors shape abilities etc etc just like i wanted and like i configured my previous UI's ( like pitbull, classtimer etc etc ) its light and just perfect. and i have a crappy old computer so ur layout does everything i want with a lightweight and fast way.but i m kinda new in ouf so i got a few questions;

1- is there a way to close "pets target" cus i couldnt find it
2- i somehow manage to add some spells on bartimer but there r still some skills i wanna track so how can i find the spellID's to add it. (googled a couple of them but it didnt work for some reason. and some just worked perfect so i think the spellID i found wasnt correct, or m i missing smthing ? do i have to write the ID or can i just write the spell name? )
3- i tried the omf to move some frames but i cant use it for raid frames, party frames and castbars. so is there a way to do it. i also moved them on cfg file but its rlly hard since i dunno the X and Y horizon properly ( ps: is there a way to learn the X and Y point where my mouse stands so i can edit the cfg file )
4- and do u have a future plan to do the config from interface menu for ppl like me 8) or maybe some lock/unlock option atleast to move the bars freely

PS: sorry for my bad English and typo ^^
