oUF Lumen

Before I used oUF and started writing my own layout and small addons, Pitbull, Grid and ClassTimer were a big part of the functionality of my UI. Since then I tried to cut down on the number of addons while trying to retain its functionality. oUF_lumen using the power of oUF tries to accomplish this by creating a customized set of unit frames tha replace Pitbull, Grid and ClassTimer while being light and functional.

Compact config: https://i.imgur.com/34Yilqx.jpg

If you're interested in my UI it's here.

This is a PERSONAL Layout. What this means is that most of the functionalities will be implemented because I need it. I can eventually add some features If I see the utility in them, but I will never change the layout radically or add unnecessary and complicated features just because. The beauty of oUF layouts is that there are plenty for all tastes and it is easy to customize if you want to dwellve into code!

- Features

  • Minimalist design
  • Standalone (oUF and several oUF plugins embedded - Experience, Reputation, Smooth...)
  • Layout works for all type of roles (damage, healing or tanking)
  • Feature complete (All frames supported, including Boss and Arena)
  • Complete support for class specific power (Combo Points, Chi, Holy Power, Insanity, etc...)
  • All frames supported, including Party, Raid (TBA), Boss and Arena frames
  • Movable frames using /lmf

- Feedback
  • If you have any question regarding the layout please leave a comment in the comment section of this addon.
  • For bug reports and feature request please use Github.

Hey mate,

Yes, I'm releasing that in a bit.

BTW, I take the chance so say that I've kinda changed the layout a bit to make it more wide (as I use a 2K monitor).

I've split the settings for both oUF_Lumen frames and LumUI into defaults and a config file to override those defaults. For example by default the UI will be Wide, but one can override those settings using the config.lua files.

I've left examples commented there that one can un-comment and achieve the previous more compact look where the bars stack on top of each other. Right now with this version that bars in laid out in the same fashion as Blizzard default bars.

Previouslys it was like this:

Now it's like this:

Hey, thanks, glad you like the layout.
It's what I still use till this day, but hey that was the reason I created it, to match my taste. I like clean, minimalistic looks but with enough density of information that is easy glanceable.

Regarding WeakAuras I know it is very popular and that you can do a lot with it, but I actually never used it, what is exactly the use case, what auras do you wish it would be easy to turn on/off, the buff bars?

Thanks mate, I actually stopped playing for quite awhile, but since Legion I have been back regularly to play the game at least each patch!

That is nice to hear!
I think ElvUI under the hood actually uses oUF too, but it's a complex beast of several embedded addons and scripts. I might be wrong, but at laest TukUI back in the day it used oUF.

Hey, I haven't had raid frames for years now, I just use Blizzards or an additional addon.
Generally it works out ok, no bugs, since the others will spawn fine, check if the Blizzard raid frames are on. Unless it is some new bug I'm not aware of, but since I don't handle anything raid frames related, I can't see how.

Bloody Blizzard, keeps changing stuff every patch.
I will into this tomorrow.

Right now I have an active Sub.

Think that error is no related to oUF Lumen tho. If you are using my UI package, it might be it, it looks like it is some of the action bar addon (which Roth hasn't updated in quite a while...).

What does have mana to do with it?

What you are seeing on the first imagem is that the Spell Blast Wave is Interruptible, therefore the cast bar and icon have color so you can easily scan that you can do something about it.

While on the second screenshot you can see that that spell you CAN'T interrupt it, therefore it doesn't have color.

It is not configurable, you would need to change some of the code itself in the nameplates.lua file and castbar.lua elements.
Hi mate

Thank u for your explanation about the coloring. i get it now thank you and thumbs up! u did a great job
No worries.
If I get the time, I might add that behaviour as an option.
