Improved Totem Frame

This addon is no longer maintained or supported.

The totem action bar was removed from the game in WoW 5.0,
so this addon is no longer useful.

Makes the Blizzard totem frame a little more featureful.
  • Totem frame is movable. Type “/totems” to toggle the locked state.
  • Totem frame is hidden when you are dead, flying, mounted, shapeshifted (Ghost Wolf), or controlling something (such as a vehicle).
  • Totem buttons have text timers above them for totem durations.
  • Totem buttons can be shift-right-clicked to destroy the associated totem.
  • Summon and Recall buttons are hidden.
I have no plans to add any options or additional features. If you do not like how the addon works by default, and are not comfortable modifying the addon’s code yourself, you should probably look for a different totem addon.

Improved Totem Frame is compatible with English, Deutsch (deDE), Español (esES & esMX), Français (frFR), Português (ptBR & ptPT), Русский (ruRU), 한국어 (koKR), 简体中文 (zhCN), and 正體中文 (zhTW) game clients.

If you have another addon that hides the Blizzard totem frame, then obviously this addon will not work, since it simply modifies of the Blizzard totem frame. This is clearly stated in the bold line at the very top of the addon's description.

Either configure your action bar addon to leave the Blizzard totem frame alone, or use another action bar addon (Macaroon does not bulldoze and/or hijack the Blizzard frames, for example), or use another totem bar addon.

Not very usable....

with 2 other bar mods.

nMainbar locks the frame to where you can no longer interact with it after combat. Need to /rl to get it working again

rActionBarStyler prevents it from being visible.

The only way I can get it to consistently work is with the default blizz action bar so far.

I'm only posting this as an FYI for other users.

Hi Tanque,

No, you’re not missing anything. Phanx and myself both only use one totem set, finding it easier to just adjust the set on the fly when needed rather than try to remember which totems we put in which set, so this addon just gets rid of the button.

I don’t know of any other way to assign totems to other sets, so if you want to use more than one totem set, you could temporarily disable the addon while you make your other sets, or you might have to use another totem addon with more features, like Totem Timers or Flo Totem Bar.

I'm relatively new to shamans in general but I had a question about this mod. I know the summon button is hidden, but then is there some way to assign totems to our "call of the ..." totem sets? Am I just missing something obvious?

Improved Totem Frame is just the Blizzard totem UI with a few aftermarket improvements. It's not a whole new set of frames. Having said that, the answers to your specific questions:

1. The flyouts work exactly the same way they do without any addons at all. You mouseover the totem button and click the arrow that appears.

2. MultiCastActionBarFrame:SetScale(1.5)

3. If you don't like keybindings, your other option would be to make macros and stick them on your action bar.

Questions

I'm hoping to eventually ditch TotemTimers as it does way more than I want. Got a few questions though about this that I'm not sure about...

- Does this have flyout totem menus or do you need to right click the totems to display the menus? This is really the only reason that I'm still using TotemTimers, I find it a very useful feature.
- Is there any easy way to scale the button through lua if needed?
- If the summon and recall buttons are hidden, then how do you use them (other than keybindings)?

I'm no longer even using ButtonFacade, so it's unlikely I'll add support for it or rActionButtonStyler in the near future unless someone sends me a patch.
