Numeration Damage Meter  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.6.1
by: nekoh, Wetxius
Numeration is minimalistic damage and healing meter.

It aims to be as memory and cpu efficient as possible for the data it stores.
I have used it for a long time, but never polished it enough to release it to the general public, mainly because of the lack of ingame configuration options. It still has a long way to go in that regard, so please don't bitch if you don't find all the options that you think should be there (or any at all -.-).
You can watch a really old version of it in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_yoYs0teSo. The code has been rewritten a lot since then, but the appearance did not change too much.

Features
  • Available Modes are: Damage, Damage Targets, Damage Taken: Targets, Damage Taken: Abilities, Friendly Fire, Healing + Absorb, Overhealing, Dispels, Interrupts, Power Gains and Deathlog
  • Powerful Deathlog overview shows who died (defense buffs, input heals, debuffs will also be displayed) and was combat-rezzed in chronological order for every fight-segment.
  • Every Mode can be completely disabled, but you have to edit a lua file for that
  • Records fights and stores them as segments (keeps optionally only bosses. Supported: Pandaria dungeon and raid/world bosses)
  • Automatic pop-up reset while entering a new instance
  • On the fly toggle for merging of pets /w owners
  • Report (no gui elements for this yet so top 9 are always being reported, except you report by clicking with the middle button on one of the bars, then all lines up to the selected bar are being reported)
  • Automatically hides in battleground/arena if "Record Only In Instances" is activated
  • Always shows the current segment that is being viewed in the titlebar ("O" = Overall, "C" = Current or a Number for the segmentnumber)
  • If a bar represents a spell, the tooltip of the spell is shown upon mouseovering the bar

Not Supported and probably won't be included in the future
  • Multiple windows with different views/modes
  • Spell Details like hits/crits/misses/(partial) resists and so on

Navigation
The navigation system is mainly inspired by Assessment, which is also used by the Skada Damage Meter addon.
The basic idea:
  • Left-click: get more detailed information about the content of the bar under the mouse
  • Right-click: go back to the previous layer
The first layer of navigation shows all fight-segments to choose from (also "overall" and "current fight"), leftclick one to view all available Modes. After choosing a Mode by leftclicking it, you can see the first overview. Left-clicking further will give you more information about the selected item as long as there is something else available. Right-clicking anywhere will bring you back to the previous layer. You can always go back directly to the segment-selection layer by clicking on the "current viewed segment indicator" in the topright corner of the window.
Scrolling is done with the mousewheel.
To move the window: click&drag the left mousebutton while pressing the alt-key.
To open the dropdown menu: just click the arrow-thingie in the topright corner of the window.

Appearance customization
Unfortunately none of the options to customize the appearance of the main window can be found ingame. They are only available to you if you know how to use an editor to open the Config.lua file, found in the addon folder.
I think every option there should be pretty much self-explanatory. And in case you where wondering why nothing happens when you change the "pos" option in that file: Once you used alt+leftclick drag to move the window, the coordinates are being read from the savedvariables. In order to use the ones in this file again, you have to delete the character-specific savedvariables for Numeration.

Obviously i'm trying to improve it even further, so if you have any bug reports or suggestions, post away, but no promises on implementing features fast (or at all if I don't like them ).

* added key binding options for visibility toggle and reset data
* extracted all the config possibilities to Config.lua for easier access to all options
* added additional options to the window appearance: alpha of background/title/lines and the scrollbar can now be hidden
* it is now possible to remove unneeded modes completely (collecting and viewing), but only via lua: edit the "n.types"-table in Config.lua. you can also rearrange them, change their name and bar(+title)color. This made the ingame option to disable deathlog recording obsolete and has been removed.
* fixed a small bug that prevented segment selection view from being updated during combat
* added monitoring of DAMAGE_SPLIT and ENVIRONMENTAL_DAMAGE cl-events, oops

1.0.2
* fixed a nil error on clean install or data reset that i introduced with 1.0.1

Thanks for the quick error report. This is fixed with 1.3.2.

For disabling collection for data, you have to change the n.types table in config.lua.
E.g.:
Remove:
Code:
	{
		name = "Damage",
		id = "dd",
		c = {.25, .66, .35},
	},
if you don't want damage data to be collected.
If you want Healing, but no Absorb, it becoms a little bit more tricky, since they are in the same view. You first have to remove:
Code:
	{
		name = "Healing + Absorbs",
		id = "hd",
		id2 = "ga",
		c = {.25, .5, .85},
	},
and then uncomment (remove the two dashes "--" in front of) these lines:
Code:
--	{
--		name = "Healing",
--		id = "hd",
--		c = {.25, .5, .85},
--	},
hope my explanation wasn't too complicated and it helps.

Tried to reset the meter when doing some solo testing on dummies in IF, got this:

1x Numeration-1.3.1\Window.lua:57: attempt to index global 'self' (a nil value)
Interface\FrameXML\UIDropDownMenu.lua:636: in function `UIDropDownMenuButton_OnClick':
<string>:"*:OnClick":1: in function <[string "*:OnClick"]:1>

Locals:
self = DropDownList1Button5 {
0 = <userdata>
notCheckable = true
func = <function> @ Numeration\Window.lua:57:
value = "Reset"
}
checked = nil
playSound = true
func = <function> @ Numeration\Window.lua:57:

---

EDIT: This is when i choose to reset using the ''>'' button. Resetting from the LDB button works fine.

Also one more question, how do i disable the deathlog (and other modes i don't want it to collect, like absorbs?). Tried looking through the .lua files, but didn't learn much.

Yes, your post actually motivated me to implement it just now ;P

you can now report deathlog details and also control how many lines should be reported by using the middle mouse button on one of the bars.

greetings

The addons title's (where it says Damage, or Heals for example) background is green for me at the moment and I would really love it to be dark/translucent like the rest of the addon is.

I'm mostly ignorant one what to the coding used to addons, however I am willing to try. If you could tell me the coding on how to do it and where to place it, or even just the colour-code, It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your kind words, sir!

There are two possible actions you can take, based on your favorable solution.

1) Change the config.lua file to give specific (or in your case all modes) a different color. Beware: this does not only change the title background color, but also the color of the bar in the modes overview.
To go down this road: you have to find
Code:
		name = "Damage",
		id = "dd",
		c = {.25, .66, .35},
in Config.lua and replace the three floating point values in "c = {R, G, B}" to e.g. {.1, .1, .1} for the black-ish color used by the "Selection: Type"-View. You can also play around with these values to figure out a better color for your needs (R=red, G=green, B=blue. the value can be in the interval between 0 and 1). Same works for every other View, not only Damage, accordingly.

2) Actually change the code, so the title background has always your favorable color. For that you have to find:
Code:
function window:SetTitle(name, r, g, b)
	self.title:SetVertexColor(r, g, b, s.titlealpha)
	self.titletext:SetText(name)
end
in Window.lua [at line 196] and change "self.title:SetVertexColor(r, g, b, s.titlealpha)" to "self.title:SetVertexColor(.1, .1, .1, s.titlealpha)" or to your favorable rgb-combination.

Hope that helps.

there is no way to change this in the config, but you can change it in the code directly, just replace:
Code:
		font:SetFont(s.titlefont, s.titlefontsize, "OUTLINE")
in line 163 of window.lua to
Code:
		font:SetFont(s.titlefont, s.titlefontsize)

about bone spikes, i reseted, so i can't compare the total value if numeration counted bone spikes damage or not ;|
i guess you are a shadow priest? when there are multiple shadow priests in the raid, can you check if only your shadowy aparition damage is accounted for? or does it also show for the other sp in your raid.
i don't think it is guessed, but the approach skada is taking only collects the damage of your own shadowy apparitions i think. please correct me if i'm wrong. and if you are doing marrowgar again. it'll be nice if you could let me know whether the total damage does or does not match

also for some reason it didn't collect any info on Lord Marrogar Bones Spikes, i'm not sure if already saw it collecting... anyway it didn't

rest of icc boss adds were ok
I am aware of the issue with the shadow apparitions, but idk atm how to fix this in a sane way. they are implemented as guardians/pets but there is no event in the combatlog about who spawned them. so there is no way i can assign them properly to the right shadow priest.

about bone spike, yeah i noticed that too. i think it adds the damage to the total damage done, but you can't see it in the targets list. not sure what the reason is
