Skill Helper
is an add on that was developed to track skill progression. It will alert you when training is required to increase your cap so you don't waste time picking herbs or mining nodes without knowing you aren't getting skill points (among other skills as well to prevent the waste of mats). The add on has its own action buttons that relate to each skill so that you don't have to clutter your action bars or open the profession window to access these. A Mini Map Icon was implemented to perform all slash command actions, but the slash commands are still available:

Skill Helper Slash Commands
type /SHelper toggle to toggle the addon hidden state
type /SHelper lock to toggle locking
type /SHelper reset to reset to default position
type /SHelper mmtoggle to toggle the minimap button on/off
type /SHelper info to view current build information

Future development for Skill Helper is still under way. Some features that are planned to be implemented include, but are not limited to:

Skill guides to assist in most efficient paths to leveling your trade skills
Skill guides to provide path maps and zone suggestions for leveling gathering skills
Skinning assist that will inform you if something can be skinned before you kill and loot it
Code optimization
Quick link button that will allow you to link the skill without having to open the profession window
Improvements on the action buttons and how they work (including fixing the "Interface action has Failed" error they throw)

I only ask you to be patient as I have a wife, kids, full-time job, college, and 10 85's in my raiding guild. Skill Helper is being worked on actively, but nothing is completed to a point of satisfaction to pass through my own standards.

I haven't really been to the SH comment thread here to inform people that I no longer support Durability Helper. It is outdated and was absorbed into another project of mine called iLvLr (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...637-iLvLr.html).

I use CurseForge as my primary support situation at this time. I am building a project wiki on PBWorks to include development and support for SkillHelper. This same wiki will also feature other projects (applications and games and even more addons maybe) and if at all possible I will be hoping for a ticket system there. I cannot afford my own domain/hosting at this time, but if I get any donations from addons or earn revenue from my writing, web design, or application/game development then I will look into creating a website for my products.

Are you still getting this Error? I don't have a Mac so I have (at this time) now way to personally test this. I have a guild member that is using a Mac so I will enlist him as a BETA tester for the addon to ensure future testing of the product.

Sorry I didn't respond to you earlier, but I have looked into the issue and see no reason this error is being thrown and I would love to know if it is still causing you grief.

I'm glad it is working in Windows fine (which means it could be a file structure difference?) and would like to get it working on any and all installations you may be using.

Instead of holding back I felt that the release was needed... you may have noticed the new version info as well with 2.2.200. The old version wasn't as informative and overly complicated on my end. Now my product is released as Skill Helper 2.2.200. The first number is the Core, the Second is the Revision, and the third is the Build. Core is for major updates to the primary structure of the addon's script. Revision is for still major updates, but not substantial to the Core itself (for example the adding of the Minimap Icon in this release). Build is for hotfixes. The Hotfixes have a special code to them as well. If the build number is 000-099 then it is an alpha build, 100-199 is a beta build, and 200+ is a release build. You will never see a build 000-199 on WoWInterface or Curse as this is internal for development and testing. I want to also point out that the slash commands are no longer /sh but /shelper. /sh is short for /shout which is an alternative to /yell. I removed the "settings" flag from the slash command and replaced it with an "info" tag. The minimap has a tooltip explaining what it can do for you. It uses/replaces slash commands.

JerichoHM A Kobold Labourer Forum posts: 1 File comments: 44 Uploads: 3	FYI to the users that got 2.1 I am not 100% certain if there was an effect or not but there were many problems in the 2.1 release not only in logic and code, but I just pointed to wrong directories for graphics and created skill helper in an incorrect folder! If you haven't updated to 2.1a and/or your curse client isn't recognizing 2.1a please go into your World of Warcraft directory, open Interface, Addons, and see if there is a directory called SkillHelper2_1. If this directory does exist please delete it and download the addon again either through Curse Client, Curse Website, or WoW Interface. If skill helper is not in a directory named SkillHelper (no version info in the name) then not only is the artwork not going to fully work, but you may run into unpredictable results! Any other problems feel free to use comments (assuming you aren't in the FB group for communication) and I will look into the issue and work with you to find a resolution.

Please keep an eye out for this update.

Since being published in the Addon Spotlight in WoW Insider and having (what I feel is) great success with the addon and the FB Group I pushed the latest update to WoW Interface. At the time of writing this it is pending approval and you are welcome to download it from curse at http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...ll-helper.aspx The information to join the FB Group is in the description of that addon. I will try to remember to continue to update here as I know some people simply don't use curse! I just hate the thought of people finding me here and downloading that old, broken, and somewhat unattractive version. If you are an exclusive user of WoW Interface then please join the FB group to remind me to post updates here when they occur.

Wow sorry I haven't maintained this page. Curse has a much nicer developer suite! The most recent version is on Curse. I will be killing it on here if I can figure it out. Otherwise I highly suggest you go to Curse to get the latest page.
