What is it

nibPointDisplay is a customizable graphical display of class points and aura stacks. There's a lot of options, so be prepared to get your hands dirty and your interface looking good


Textures

nibPointDisplay supports SharedMedia, so you can add any custom textures you'd like. By default it comes with Triangle, Circle, Plain, Soul Shard and Holy Power textures. Please see the bottom of this page for a small SharedMedia guide.

Shared Media Guide

If you wish to use your own custom textures, then the best way to do this is with SharedMedia.


Step 1: Install SharedMedia
  1. Download SharedMedia
  2. Copy the SharedMedia folder from the download to your Interface\AddOns\ folder
  3. Inside the Interface\AddOns\SharedMedia\ folder, rename MyMedia.bat.txt to MyMedia.bat
  4. Double-click MyMedia.bat

Step 2: Install your custom textures
  • You can either grab textures from other downloads (such as Power Auras Classic) or create your own. Custom textures will have either a .blp or .tga file extension.
  • Move any custom texture files you want to use into the SharedMedia_MyMedia\background\ folder.
  • Run the MyMedia.bat file once again to register your new textures.

Well, the best way to display Runic Power is either straight text, or status bar, both things which nibPD doesn't do. I could split it up into, say 5 bars, each being 20 Runic Power, but not sure how useful that would be.

Would it be possible to make the points clear as you press detonate instead of when the shrooms actually die, which is a second or two later?

Noticed something today, I made my Combo Points set up as Show at 0 Points/Stacks, and logged onto my DK. The bar is still there O.o

And as we all know, DKs don't have CPs ;D Is this an error on my part and should redownload/update?

I noticed something when I was trying to set up for my elemental shaman. The Lightning Shield (Fulmination) only goes up to 6, when a full Fulmination is at 9 points. Is there any way to fix this to allow the other 3 ticks?

9 points was a little too many to show, so I opted to just show the charges relevant to Fulmination (any charge over 3).

I cant get my spark to look like what is shown in your second picture for some reason.

i added [[Interface\Cooldown\star4]] to the background images, but for some reason the addon wont display the alpha map correctly, so theres nothing but black around the spark. any idea?

Will probably have to ask a texture expert on that one. Best thing I can suggest is extracting the image and convert it to .tga/.blp with new transparency.

Hey nib, noticed that you have the 8x8px border the game uses in the files, and it does allow me to use in KGPanels, but when ever I load it shows up as

kgPanels: Failed to find artwork Solid type border
kgPanels: Border Solid was not found in kgPanels or SharedMedia.
kgPanels: Missing Border Solid has been added .. applying texture to PANELNAME
and does this for all the panels listed (3 for each of them). And I use many many panels. Might this be a NibPD problem or a KGPanels one?

Not saying ERROR; just says KGPanels can't find it :O

Are you getting the border via it's path (Interface\\AddOns\\ etc), or through a dropdown box?

Drop down menu from KGPanels. Should i got into the \SharedMedia\Borders\Borders.lua and add the path directly?
(and if the above is the correct way, should I add Interface\Addons\nibPointDisplay\Media\SolidBorder into it?)

Also want to clarify that the borders ARE showing up, just that kgpanels can't find it, but then uses it O.o

EDIT: Or should I copy your Border.blp and add it into the border folder then edit the Border.lua and put

"Interface\Addons\SharedMedia\Borders\Border.blp" ?

That would work. Shouldn't need to do the second, though it's not a bad idea since then nibPointDisplay can be removed and the border won't be affected.

It's due to loading order. Since kgPanels loads before nibPointDisplay, that border won't yet exist since nibPointDisplay has yet to register it.
