DPSCheck looks for common issues affecting hunter DPS. It monitors hunter activity during combat and looks for common mistakes that lead to preventable DPS losses. The original motivating example was lost auto shots from movement -- optimal hunter DPS in movement heavy fights requires carefully timed stutter steps. DPSCheck will estimate the number of lost auto shots and compare it against the actually fired shots. In addition, DPSCheck also checks shot priorities and varies buffs and debuffs affecting performance. Mistakes in shot priorities and buff/debuff coverage are both reported.
DPSCheck was written after a hunter community call to arms to build a tool to help self-diagnose DPS problems. Many current and planned features have been suggested by the hunter community at outdps.com.
