Aurora is an addon which restyles the default Blizzard interface to a clean, minimalistic theme which is consistent across the entire UI.

A lot of time has been spent on not only basic development and updates, but also refining and perfecting the appearance of each window and every frame.

A single color, that either matches your current class or is a color of your choosing, is used for highlights and emphasis.

Options

Open the Aurora options from the in-game addon options, or type /aurora.

I was wondering if there's a way to remove the quality icon borders from the Character Panel (heirloom, epic, rare and uncommon)? I run wow in the tiniest scale it allows me and instead of showing 4 border of each icon, it only shows 2 or 3 borders so i thought it would be a good idea to disable them if possible! Atm I have elvui skin disabled, it doesnt seem to be working at all for me, although it has been having several issues for a little while now but even when it was working it just would play nice with aurora... This may not be a problem with Aurora in itself at all but thought I would post here just incase anybody who used both addons had any trouble as well __________________

So I realize that this question was a few months ago, but I too use the UI scaling option and also was looking for a fix for this, not to mention I really wasn't a fan of the active quest color being bright red*.

This fix ONLY removes the quality glow from items. It doesn't fix the icon background borders for EMPTY slots in your bags or gear.

1) Go into your Interface folder and open up Addons\Aurora\aurora.lua. You can open it in any basic text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, etc).
2) Scroll down to line 602 in the file. It should read "F.ColourQuality = function(button, id)"
3) Comment out the following lines:

603-609
613-615
621-629

To comment these lines out just add two hyphens (--) to the beginning of each of those lines.

Here is a link to an image of what the file should look like when you're done with it.

That should solve the pixel-perfect glow issue you're having with the smaller UI scale. As of yet I haven't fixed the empty-icon followup, but I wasn't really bothered by this so I doubt I will.

* If you're just looking to change the color of the active quest icons, change the r,g,b values in line 624 to whatever you'd like.

Quick overview: ReskinPortraitFrame: Restyles most of a frame which is of the PortraitFrameTemplate or ButtonFrameTemplate type CreateBD: Applies backdrop/border. Use a lighter alpha (like .25) as the second parameter if there already is a background behind the parent frame (else it gets too dark) CreateBG: Adds solid black texture with 1px offset around parameter frame/texture SetBD: Adds a frame with backdrop with parameters as offset (used if you need custom backdrop dimensions for a panel) CreateBDFrame: Adds a frame default backdrop/border with 1px offset around parameter frame/texture (like CreateBG but with transparent backdrop) Reskin: Restyles most common buttons ReskinTab: Restyles tabs at the bottom of frames ReskinScroll: Restyles scroll bars ReskinDropDown: Restyles dropdown menu headers ReskinClose: Restyles close buttons in top right corner ReskinInput: Restyles input fields ReskinArrow: Restyles arrow buttons. It tends to read icon packs and whatnot, and when I have aurora enabled, Nemo's icon flickers on GCD. Is there a way to disable Aurora for specific addons?
