LumUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.04
by: neverg [More]

About

lumUI is a UI Compilation created having in mind utility within an attractive look focused on information. The main element of the UI is my oUF layout, oUF_lumen. This UI is full featured yet keeping it simple and easy to install without needing to configure lots of addons.

Installation & Instructions

1. Backup your Fonts folder (if you have it), Interface and WTF folder.
2.Unzip the archive into the World of Warcraft _retail_ folder. Not the Addons folder, the World of Warcraft _retail_ Folder. This is because inside the archive you will find a Fonts folder and an Interface folder.
3. That's it, there is no WTF because it's not needed by any addon needing configuration (at least important ones).
4. Refer to the individual addons if you need help configuring them. Most of the addons in this pack are configured through Lua editing so they might not be fitted for some users.
5. This UI works out of the package. You might only need to move some elements of the frames around.
6. If you need to override any default options please do so on `config.lua`. Go to LumUI and oUF_Lumen default config files (`defaults.lua`) to see the available options and override your settings on the `config.lua` file (save this file between updates, both for LumUI and OUF_Lumen).
7.In config.lua (LumUI and oUF_Lumen) there is an example to use a more compact centered layout (https://i.imgur.com/b7PG5va.jpg), uncomment the comments files to achieve that layout. Since version 9 LumUI uses a more wide layout with the Action Bars following the layout used by Blizzard default action bars. If you uncomment those files, please disable, reload and re-enable LumUI so the layout resets.

Addons

Keeping addons to a minimum from now on. You can supplement the UI with other addons of your choice.

  • LumUI
  • oUF_Lumen (Unit Frames)
  • Butsu
  • tullaRange

Notes

* There is a price to pay for a UI with a low need of config and simplicity... most of the stuff is edited in the lua files. Especially all addons that begin with lum (my own) are almost all edited through lua. Open the lua files in the beginning of the files there are lots of configs to tweak stuff.

Brilliant new version - and class colored nameplates! /hug That reduced my addon list by one.

Regarding the totem bar:
- I found where in the lua I can show the Totem Recall and Call of Elements buttons. Unfortunately when I do they have the Blizzard look and not the Ium. Can that be edited somewhere?
- And also, where do I edit so I can move the totem bar? I've checked the oUF_lumen.lua (I could only find reference to the oUF_TotemBars there) and IumCupCakes.lua but without any luck.
- When I cast one Call of... (no matter which one) it doesn't show the correct icon for those totems but the correct timers. If I cast a new Totem (just one) it only shows the timer for the new totem (and for the 3 remaining) but not the icon.

Edit: Also, I have 4 chat tabs and one of the ones I've created, not any of the default, is visible while the other one, including the 2 default, is hidden and shown only on mouseover.

Look for the addon folder and inside you will find a file named cfg.lua
Open it and look for stuff that say width, for example if i want to increase the width of my frame (the player frame) i would change the line that says:
Code:
cfg.mainframe_width = 190
to whatever value i would like.
Save the file after and reload the interface of the game (/console reloadui) if the game is already open.
Cheers
Thanks a lot !

Just 1 thing: it's possible to set him to not track Commanding Shout when my character has other auras (i.e. Power Word Fortitude) that cannot stack with it? And track Battle instead of commanding?
This occurs only when i'm with my prot build and it automatically change the track from Battle to Commanding Shout..cause it's annoying to tank and have always the reminder activated in the center of the screen...
Thanks!
It will be better next release yes, I'm planning on those things. I'm just trying to get to 85 before messing with my UI more. Shouldn't take long now as Im 84! :P

Hey, btw Great UI, just started using it

2 Questions...

how can I extend the amount of bars on the bottom of the UI, from 1 to 3?
and
do we need to download the oUF_Lumen Config file to our World of warcraft folder, inorder for the changes to work, if so, where should I put it in?

Thanks, and keep up the good work
Airoz
UPDATE: nvm figured it now, had to go through one of the options through blizzards's interface menu.... lol

Greatings.
To move the totem bar you should go to the file cfg.lua on the folder oUf_lumen (inside the interface/addons folder).
Open the file with any program that can read text files (ex. notepad)
Now look for the following:
Code:
cfg.totem_x = false -- Horizontal Position (False is to use default position)
cfg.totem_y = false -- Vertical Position (False is to use default position)
cfg.totem_width = 40 -- Totem bar Width
cfg.totem_height = 8 -- Totem bar Height
cfg.totem_spacing = 7 -- Totem bar spacing
cfg.show_totem_names = true -- Show the abreviated totem names
cfg.totem_ooc_alpha = 0.25 -- Out of Combat Alpha
And "play" a bit with the cfg.totem_x = false and cfg.totem_y = false.
Change the "false" word to a value like 10 or -20 or whatever till you find the position you like.
After the change save the file, reload the interface on the game (if its opened with the command /console reloadui ) and you should be fine.
