LumUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.04
by: neverg [More]

About

lumUI is a UI Compilation created having in mind utility within an attractive look focused on information. The main element of the UI is my oUF layout, oUF_lumen. This UI is full featured yet keeping it simple and easy to install without needing to configure lots of addons.

Installation & Instructions

1. Backup your Fonts folder (if you have it), Interface and WTF folder.
2.Unzip the archive into the World of Warcraft _retail_ folder. Not the Addons folder, the World of Warcraft _retail_ Folder. This is because inside the archive you will find a Fonts folder and an Interface folder.
3. That's it, there is no WTF because it's not needed by any addon needing configuration (at least important ones).
4. Refer to the individual addons if you need help configuring them. Most of the addons in this pack are configured through Lua editing so they might not be fitted for some users.
5. This UI works out of the package. You might only need to move some elements of the frames around.
6. If you need to override any default options please do so on `config.lua`. Go to LumUI and oUF_Lumen default config files (`defaults.lua`) to see the available options and override your settings on the `config.lua` file (save this file between updates, both for LumUI and OUF_Lumen).
7.In config.lua (LumUI and oUF_Lumen) there is an example to use a more compact centered layout (https://i.imgur.com/b7PG5va.jpg), uncomment the comments files to achieve that layout. Since version 9 LumUI uses a more wide layout with the Action Bars following the layout used by Blizzard default action bars. If you uncomment those files, please disable, reload and re-enable LumUI so the layout resets.

Addons

Keeping addons to a minimum from now on. You can supplement the UI with other addons of your choice.

  • LumUI
  • oUF_Lumen (Unit Frames)
  • Butsu
  • tullaRange

Notes

* There is a price to pay for a UI with a low need of config and simplicity... most of the stuff is edited in the lua files. Especially all addons that begin with lum (my own) are almost all edited through lua. Open the lua files in the beginning of the files there are lots of configs to tweak stuff.

Thanks.

For the action button text: LumUI > mods > buttons.lua

Lua Code:
  1. --hotkey
  2.   actionButtonConfig.hotkey = {
  3.     font = { STANDARD_TEXT_FONT, 11, "OUTLINE"},
  4.     points = {
  5.       {"TOPRIGHT", 0, 0 },
  6.       {"TOPLEFT", 0, 0 },
  7.     },
  8.     alpha = 0,
  9.   }

Change the Alpha to 1 and reload.

Bare in mind that if you update LumUI with a new release this will be overwritten, so keep the changes you did in a separate file.

For the tooltip. LumUI > mods > tooltip.lua

Lua Code:
  1. -- Position
  2.   -- cfg.pos = "ANCHOR_CURSOR"
  3.   cfg.pos = { "BOTTOMRIGHT", UIParent, "BOTTOMRIGHT", -20, 20 }

Uncomment the first line that is commented now and comment the second one.

Again save your changes in a separate file as any updates will overwrite your changes.

I'm actually changing the Tooltip to show Talents of Characters so there will be a bit of new added code.

Yes.

Everything here is done by editing the files. This is a personal UI, no effort was made (nor I have time to) make it more user friendly to edit settings.

So you need to go into LumUI > mods > minimap.lua and edit these lines (play with values):

Lua Code:
  1. -- Config
  2. local mParent = "UIParent" -- Minimap Parent
  3. local mParentPoint = "TOPRIGHT" -- Minimap Anchor
  4. local mPoint = "TOPRIGHT" -- Minimap Set Point
  5.
  6. local mWidth = 200 -- Minimap Width
  7. local mHeight = 200 -- Minimap Height
  8. local mPosx = -20 -- Minimap Horizontal Position
  9. local mPosy = -20 -- Minimap Vertical Position
  10. local mScale = 1.0 -- Minimap Scale

mPosy controls the Y position, mPosx the X position. Since it is on the right mPoint is set to TOPRIGHT if you are positioning on the bottom left maybe change this to BOTTOMRIGHT, you will get the hang of it.
Bare in mind that if you update LumUI with a new release this will be overwritten, so keep the changes you did in a separate file. Some day I might actually do a proper settings module for users to override but for now... just don;t have the time. :P

The Stats, its simple.

There is this file in the root of the LumUI folder, _load.xml.
Just comment that file.

Lua Code:
  1. <Ui xmlns="http://www.blizzard.com/wow/ui/">
  2.     <Script file='init.lua' />
  3.     <Script file='config.lua' />
  4.
  5.     <Script file='core\core.lua' />
  6.     <Script file='core\utils.lua' />
  7.
  8.     <Script file='mods\actionbar.lua' />
  9.     <Script file='mods\auras.lua' />
  10.     <Script file='mods\buttons.lua' />
  11.     <!-- <Script file='mods\chat.lua' /> -->
  12.     <Script file='mods\combatText.lua' />
  13.     <Script file='mods\minimap.lua' />
  14.     <!-- <Script file='mods\skins.lua' /> -->
  15.     <Script file='mods\tooltip.lua' />
  16.     <Script file='mods\tweaks.lua' />
  17.
  18.     <Script file='elements\cooldownsCount.lua' />
  19.     <Script file='elements\cooldownsPulse.lua' />
  20.     <Script file='elements\stats.lua' />
  21. </Ui>

In this case it is the last line.

Move minimap

Hi,

Is there a way to move the minimap to another part of the screen?

Also is it possible to hide the stats info bar on the bottom?

Think I got this. Based on how he helped me on my previous post. Follow the path then change the 'true' to 'false' and save.

Lua Code:
  1. experiencebar = {
  2.     show = true,
  3.     height = 3,
  4.     width = Minimap:GetWidth() + 4,
  5.     pos = { a1 = "TOPLEFT", a2 = "BOTTOMLEFT", af = "Minimap", x = -2, y = -12 },
  6.   },
That's it.

So far I haven't create Raid Frames, I did have them in the past but when I re-wrote the frames I left them out since Blizzard had surpassed mine in features. If you use Grid it will just replace Blizzard as it usually does.

Regarding Party frames oUF_Lumen > config > config.lua

Line 278. Change show to false.

Lua Code:
  1. party = {
  2.     show = true, -- CHANGE THIS TO false
  3.     width = 134,
  4.     height = 22,
  5.     pos = { a1 = "CENTER", a2 = "CENTER", af = "UIParent", x = -525, y = -100 },
  6.     health = {
Thanks for the quick response worked perfectly

Well, oUF_Lumen is just the frames while LumUI is additional stuff like ActionBars, Tooltip and some little extra mods. But it's a very lightweight compilation, meaning you should install more addons if needed. I like to keep it light.

You can use oUF_Lumen if you just want the Unit Frames.
You can just use LumUI if you just want ActionBars, Chat, Tooltip and some extra tidbits.
Or you can use both.

But since LumUI comes with oUF_Lumen inside you don't need to download it separately but you can always deleted it if you don't want it.

Hey.
Unfornately this font is not UTF-8 compatible meaning that Non Latin characters (like Chinese and Cyrilic won't display correctly. I do want to find one that would work fine visual wise and compatible with all characters but it doesn't for now). Inside the media folder of oUF_lumen just replace Font1 and font2 with one that suites you, just give it the same name.

Hey i change that on the last release. I was experimenting with that.
For the ones that like it It's still possible to change it in the mods > actionBar and visibility line.
But for now it's disabled by default. Just get the latest version I released today.
